So one province where this party is supposed to hold sway is brutally taken away from them.

Even likes of Reham Khan who would cut off their right hand to badmouth Imran/PTI cannot help her self

Or have the masses shown the mirror to PML-N that they don't have short memories and know what they ACTUALLY represent?

They need to rid themselves of NS and his family who have turned the party into a family mafia. There are decent and honest workers in the party I am sure, but they dont mean jack in the grand scheme of things as long as the Sharif Mafia is around.

I am almost inclined to say, they should tell the sharif family mafia "Look you made your millions or billions, take it all, and just leave" and they should reform the party with true democratic rotating leadership rather than giving one family charge of the whole thing.

The only way for them to succeed is to get rid of the shariefs..then reconstitute the Muslim League. Elect a democratic leadership and a proper agenda for the country with proper policies. Otherwise it is oblivion

Not brutally. Punjab assembly will now be a hung assembly. No new laws are gonna be made in Punjab.

Pmln still holds a large number of seats. Alot of people dont vote at by elections aswell.

That can be interpreted as "Oh no nothing to see here, we are all fine, this was just a one off election"

Which is well and truly a case of burying your head in the sand. This party has had nothing but problems with corruption due to one family for the last 35 years. They need to acknowledge the problem and fix the issue. Free biryani votes will not last much longer.

Maryam Nawaz has achieved nothing for the PML N. Same goes for Hamza Shahbaz. Ever since these two individuals have been given senior roles in the party ahead of individuals who have dedicated 20-30 years to the party, PML N's political fortunes have declined.

PTI is perhaps the only truly national party with representation in the vast majority of the provincial assemblies

50% turn out.

I believe highest for a while.

Surely there some capable people in the Noora league( I can't name anyone because out of the ones i have seen
they all seem like boot lickers) and doesn't need a corrupt, evil family party to lead it.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – After the landslide victory of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and humiliating defeat of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) in make-or-break Punjab by-elections, on Monday a review report about by-polls has been presented before the party leadership.

A meeting of the PML-N top brass was held which was headed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Which Hamza Shahbaz, Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Asif, Maryam Aurangzeb, Azam Nazir Tarar, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Malik Ahmad Khan, Attaullah Tarar, Sardar Owais Leghari, Rana Mashhood and others participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the party’s defeat in the by-elections and the post-by-polls strategies were discussed.

Sources privy to the matter said that Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah submitted a report on the party’s defeat in the by-elections while a separate analysis was presented in the party report.

The report stated that the PML-N workers in the constituencies did not accept Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) defectors while the party officials, senior ticket holders and former local body representatives did not contribute during the election campaign, tough economic decisions.

“The multiple hikes in petroleum products prices was also another reason for the defeat,” sources added.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will also contact the government allies and a meeting of the coalition parties will also be consulted for the future strategy, sources said.

Lots of jashn in Lahore since last few days. Well done to the security forces in general for keeping law and order largely smooth.

And they needed a report to tell them that. But they didn't put the biggest factor, people trust and like Kaptaan.

These traitors would have won 0 seats if they did not partake in rigging and various other illegal acts with a favourable ECP.

Also, they are mostly chors, hypocrites and mafia/criminals and should be dissolved. nawaz and his other criminal family's threats to army and to leak Pakistan's national secrets if prosecuted for corruption are on the record as is the abuse of government resources.

Had more people voted, PTI's win would have been even more comprehensive as vast majority of real voters hate these proven chors and money launderers.

I hope all of Pakistan repeats the win, our brothers and sisters in all provinces, come the next general election. Sindh in particular needs to reject the PPP hegemony.

Heard there is massive panic in the Zardari Bhutto camp because they were depending on PML N for the parties revival in Punjab but if the PML N itself is a shrinking force in Punjab then they will not be able to help the PPP in Punjab either. Right now PPP has nothing to gain by aligning themselves in the PDM anymore.

There is news today that Kaptaan is coming after the Zardari mafia in Sindh. IA they destroy these murderers and looters

I don't think PML N can survive without the Sharifs. It will break into various factions.

Zardari buried PMLN: Sheikh Rashid
Sheikh Rashid said that PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari “buried” PMLN — after the party suffered a humiliating defeat in the Punjab by-elections

RAWALPINDI: AML chief Sheikh Rashid said Monday that PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari “buried” PMLN — after the party suffered a humiliating defeat in the Punjab by-elections.

“The funeral of PMLN’s [politics] took place; Zardari has buried the party, and now, Maulana Fazlur Rehman should offer prayers for them,” Rashid, who is an ally of the PTI, said while addressing a press conference.

Referring to the “landslide victory” of PTI in the hotly-contested by-polls, Rashid said that it was a “laboratory test” and the nation gave its verdict in favour of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. “It has been proved today that Imran Khan’s narrative has reached every home,” he said and doubled down on the demand of dissolving the assemblies this week — and holding snap polls.

“Shehbaz Sharif has become the PM of just Capital Development Authority (CDA),” Rashid said in a jibe at PM Shehbaz. He also noted that the PTI could have won the fourth seat in Lahore if it had taken a better decision — as the party managed to secure three out of constituencies.

The former interior minister — who wanted the establishment to stay away from the by-polls — also said that the establishment gained respect due to yesterday’s free, fair and transparent by-elections.

PTI grabbed 15 of the total 20 seats in the Punjab by-polls, while PML-N won four seats and the remaining one seat went to an independent candidate. Before the by-polls, the PTI and PMLQ had already jointly attained the strength of 173 (163 of PTI and 10 of PML-Q).

Now, with 15 additional seats, this strength has reached 188 whereas the figure for the simple majority stands at 186. This means the PTI and PML-Q have crossed that landmark. One independent MPA will likely be part of the new ruling coalition.

The clear victory of PTI in the Punjab by-polls has turned around the number game in the Punjab Assembly, with Chaudhry Pervez Elahi now most likely to replace Hamza Shehbaz Sharif as the new chief minister of the province in the coming days.
