Think about it - this has been Pakistan's quasi home for over a decade, and they are a team who plays more T20s than any other format. The intricacies of these stadiums and pitches are well known to them - certainly more than our IPL hacks who went on nothing more than a 2-week vacation there.

They have been unbeaten in their last 6 T20s in Dubai alone. Six games in a row in a tournament like the WT20 basically ensures the cup. The average score for a team batting first is 144, and we all know Pakistan relishes low scoring games. Put that together with the underlying rage against New Zealand coming up later in the group - Pakistan may be on a mission here.

Babar knows this at the back of his head and oozed confidence when he spoke about his team's chances earlier: “We know the conditions really well. We know how the wicket will behave and the adjustments batters will have to make. On the day whoever plays the better cricket wins the match. If you ask me, we will win.”

IMO - if the streak is going to end anytime, it will be tomorrow. Happy to be proven wrong though!

I agree. This is Pakistan's best chance. Babar and Shaheen will pummel this Indian side.

Nope.

In uae you need spinners. Pakistan is playing without any spinners. Shadab cant bowl and imad waseem is just linr and length. We are not even playing nawaz..

If we had saeed ajmal than yes we could had beaten india here in uae.

Look at 2016 match. India played nz and lost to them cause of santner. In the same ground pakistab played india and we went without our spinners. I kept saying at the time spinners are needed. Guess what happened. India bowlers were getting soo much spin that we couldnt even score runs against them. We stumbled for a low score.

This time around, india is coming in well prepared with spinners. Meanwhile we expect harris rauf and shahenee to perform on a uae wicket :))).

No man

Indian Batsmen are still Vehshi Jaanwars on these types of tracks. We need to be mentally prepared to chase 170+ on a slow turning track with Bumrah and Chakarvarti. Or somehow set that kind of total and hope to get in 4-5 economical overs in to raise the run rate to above 10 and hope for catches to hold out on the boundary

I thought all the Indians agreed that the UAE IPL has exposed Pakistan as a poor batting resource

Why are Indians worrying all of a sudden? Mamoon

Pakistan has fastest bowling attack in the tournament. All three pacers bowl above 90mph+. Our Bhuvi's speed in kph is lower that your's in mph.

Bobby B is the top ranked bat. Rizwan can school Pant every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

We get these jinxing threads every time from Indian supporters. No Pakistan has no advantage, Pakistan has been very poor in UAE in LO's. India to win within the first hour of the match then Switch the channel to Man U Vs Liverpool.

Yes. Given Pakistan’s intent to prove a point or two to the cricketing world given what happened with England and NZ tours. Pak to win handsomely tomorrow by at least 6 wickets or 20 runs

Just saw the Sky sports segment where they asked the commentators about who is going to win T20 - Dale Steyn, Danny Morrison and a few others were saying Pakistan is going to win the title. Things looking bleak for India.

Well because flukes can happen. Besides, no matter superior India is and regardless of the fact that the gap between the two sides is ever increasing, the reality is that this World Cup streak will end one day. Nothing lasts forever.

It is in fact incredible that it started in 1992 and is still alive in 2021. It is mind-boggling that Pakistan has never managed to catch India on a bad day in a World Cup so far.

Nonetheless, it will happen one day and whenever that happens - be it tomorrow, next year or few years down the line - it will be very disappointing for India because they will look back at it and think about how it was a lot of fun while it lasted.

It will be sort of an end of an era for most of the fans and will produce a lot of nostalgia.

For Pakistani fans, it will be a moment to cherish. I am sure they will celebrate the end of the streak like winning a World Cup. The man of the match and the other key players will be treated like kings and the captain would be put on a pedestal.

Babar Azam has been promoted as Pakistan’s golden boy, a representation of a better future for Pakistan. If it his his destiny to become the first Pakistani captain to beat India in a World Cup game and put an end to the curse that was started by Imran Khan, well so be it.

Whatever is meant to happen will happen. You, me, our predictions, our views, our criticism, our hopes our delusions - none of the matters because you cannot fight destiny.

As the great French poet Jean Fontaine famously said, “one often meets his destiny on the road that he avoids”. Kohli is stepping down as T20I captain after this tournament, and if it is his destiny to shoulder the burden of becoming the first Indian captain to lose to Pakistan in a World Cup, then so be it.

The bottom-line is that you cannot fault Indian posters for being pessimistic and you cannot fault Pakistani fans for being optimistic. It is completely natural.

Whether history repeats itself for the umpteenth time or whether Pakistan finally gets the monkey off its back, live will go on and people will move on.

Superstitious people. They believe in jinxes etc. Its a common thread with them each and every time. The said poster Varun is known for such threads before every India-Pak match.

Yeah, and whats more annoying is their superiority complex nowadays like a nouveau rich where they discount the India-Pakistan rivarly but then you seen them flocking to "jinx" Pakistan everytime we play them.

lol looks like the pressure is on the fans too, pakistani are trying to be ease the pressure by saying india hi jeetay ga as usual, and indians are trying to ease the pressure by saying lag raha hai is baar Pak lei jaye ga ya streak toor jaye gi.... wah re, kya strategy hai boss... baad mein result favor mein toh bro kaisa diya, and if lose, arrey bola tha na... (now where is my aamir liaqat smiley)

Also I like how the Indian fans are pretending here. Even if Pakistan wins, they will than use the slogan that Pakistan has never defeated them in a 50 overs world cup..

You provide more excuses for India and BCCI than Tom Harrison would. Why don’t you send in your CV to the ICC, I’m sure a 6 figure salary awaits you.

That’s ok, your Indian pundits have patriotically backed India to win it.

Our pundits are biased but nuetrals have picked Pakistan as favourites to win the whole thing.

I’ll tell you one thing, the Aussie fans of the past would never behave in such an insecure way the Indian fans are now behaving.

You should win it, but you will never truly be champions like the Aussies were

Agreed.

Aussies are unmatched.

I wonder how superstitious Indian population is and how much they believe in jinxes. I have noted its a common pattern before the game that such threads pop-up. Believe in your team and talk logically. Logically on paper Pakistan should not defeat India. If Pakistan does go onto defeat India then its more Indian defeat than Pakistan win. Regardless, I have a feeling it would be a familiar result tomorrow.

Slow low pitches that will suit both teams.

I don't see any advantage to either side in terms of where the match is being played.

Pakistan players panic big time on world cup stage against India.

Pakistan needs to bat first and Fakhar Zaman needs to fire. Pakistan also needs to hold onto their catches to win.

Up until 1999 the losing streak must have been painful for Pakistan because they were genuinley the better team.

Since then for a period they were both even and now India is so far ahead its unbelievable.

India losing would be an incredible shock to the cricketing world. Their IPL is seen as the pinnacle of cricket, they have just played in the UAE and their C team is better than most countries A teams.

If Pakistan somehow scrape a win tomorrow I think it will be one of the biggest upsets in cricketing history.

This is the most professional & fittest Indian team I have seen in the last 20 years, regardless of the pitch the result will be Team India winning it.

Haha you are fearing a bowler who has 3 match international experience in his career

You do understand meaning of pulling a fast one right? Are you saying pakistan will trick or play unfairly against india to win game !!

See?

They knew exactly who to bowl and where to bowl.

We don't have enough.

what nonsense post? India literally played IPL here for last 2 months. How much more advantage does India need? utter ridiculous post

Always ready with the excuses from india. quit your whining. the entire tournament is setup to make it as easy for india as possible to get over their choking and win a trophy

Well, let's hope this is a one-off and that India bounces back.

I'd love an Indo-Pak final! That one will be a hell of a game!
