Donald Trump says that his nuclear button is "much bigger and more powerful" than Kim Jong-un's

North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the “Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times.” Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!
— Donald J. Ignoring the stupidity of this man, this kind of talk is plain dangerous

The election of the man will turn out to be the biggest scandal in history, might even overtake Hitler's election and the rise of the Nazi party in Germany

The thing is this same attitude towards him on this forum models the attitude towards him all over the world, specifically in the US. It's the attitude that paved the way for him to roll into the presidency.

For every (ridiculous) tweet he makes there is a new thread for it on PP. Same thing back in Pakistan. You have pretty much every news and journalism program scrutinizing, analyzing, over analyzing some gibberish he wrote on twitter, like it should be taken seriously. Snapchat puts every dumb tweet on their front page as well.

You all are playing right to his tune atm. He wants attention, and everyone just gives it to him no questions asked. People don't think before they react to his nonsense. And that's what makes him who he is. That he can evoke such intense emotions from entire populations over few words on an app 15 year old girls use to post Justin Bieber lyrics.

He says a lot of insane stuff, and while I think some of it he does just to get reactions, one intelligent thing he has said before in a book of his was how we each as a person have his/her own brand. If you want to be a high value brand, i.e., an important person, you have to dress like one, act like your word is law, and after a while of adopting these mannerisms you will become one. He has become one. He posts all this stuff on twitter then forgets about them as he falls back to sleep on his king of kings sized bed next to Melania.

He is sound asleep right now dreaming about signing the declaration of independence while George Washington massages his shoulders, while the entire world is getting riled up over his tweets. Now that's power.

Americas nukes are not safe with this man around.

Pow!

Brilliant comeback. I don't mind any of this as long as there isn't any war in the end.

This is so counterproductive - why should North Korea agree to any talks when this clown is feeding the anti-American propaganda of the regime ?

He's making them go into more of a defensive, uncomprising stance. The way he's undermining the Iran deal - why should North Korea agree to negotiate if the US won't keep their word ?

Whilst you celebrate the latest idiocy from your hero, can you answer my post in the other thread instead of playing Dodgeball, thanks.

What a child!

Someone should remind him that there arent just 2 countries in the world and the rest of the world doesnt want any of USA and NK's mess to reach their countries.

Do you realize that North Korea - labelled a Hermit Kingdom for a reason - have never been willing to come to a table to actually have a meaningful discussion of any kind? Trump tweeting sensibly or not tweeting at all will not make the Jong Un clan stop broadcasting any anti-West propaganda, which is their bread and butter.

Likewise, Trump tweeting the mentioned statement will also do nothing good or bad for relations. Did any bullets go off in the past 24 hours? Were any nukes moved to launching positions? You have to take news passively when you can spot it as such, and grab the popcorn when you can. Ten years from now, you will see a quintessential American President doing PR the way you want it ("We strongly condemn North Korea's statements on their nuclear missiles. #USAForPeace" ) except that the tinpot will actually invade the country and destroy the fabric of society for decades in the process. We'll see what you think of Trump and a measly tweet then.

You show your ignorance in that case.

Read up on something called the Agreed Framework.

Fine, I hold my hand up and state that I didn't know about this. But a quick search of Wiki reveals:

Implementation of the agreement was troubled from the start, but its key elements were being implemented until it effectively broke down in 2003.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agreed_Framework

It still sounds very piecemeal. North Korea not willing to come to the table here and now is still a fair generalization.

Look at the comments on this thread. People have no respect for our President who is the most powerful man on Earth.

He is proving America is run by lunatics, him being the biggest.

Any pictures of his nuclear button, it must be the size of a football?

So you write a page long post on the same topic, thereby adding to the thread length and view count. You wrote "You all are playing right to his tune atm.". Do you not think that you are doing exactly the same as you are criticising others for? :boycott

Actually there is no box meal with the burger.

It is laughable that people on here, reddit, mainstream media etc are actually sympathizing with and rationalizing North Korea's actions because they're blinded by their hate for Trump. Try to not be biased for once.

North Korea test fires new tactical guided weapon - state media

North Korea says it has test-fired a new "tactical guided weapon" with a "powerful warhead", the first such test since talks between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un ended without agreement.

State media gave few details, but analysts say this is unlikely to be a return to the long-range missile tests seen as a threat to the US.

A similar test last November was seen as an attempt to pressure the US.

There has been little progress in nuclear talks since the last summit.

In February, Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un met in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi to discuss denuclearisation, but discussions broke down and both leaders left abruptly.

Last week, Mr Kim said Mr Trump needed to have the "right attitude" for talks to continue.

What is North Korea claiming?
According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) the test was overseen by Mr Kim himself.

KCNA reported that the test was "conducted in various modes of firing at different targets", which analysts believe mean the weapon could be launched from land, sea or air.

Mr Kim said the development was "of very weighty significance in increasing the combat power of the People's Army".

The report gave few other details, so it's not even clear if this was a type of missile - but most observers agree it is likely to be a short-range weapon.

Last year, the North Korean leader said he would stop nuclear testing and would no longer launch intercontinental ballistic missiles, as Pyongyang's nuclear capabilities had been "verified".

Nuclear activity appears to be continuing, however, and satellite images at North Korea's main nuclear site last week showed movement, suggesting the country could be reprocessing radioactive material into bomb fuel.

The country claims it has developed a nuclear bomb small enough to fit on a long-range missile, as well as ballistic missiles that could potentially reach the mainland US.

North Korea analyst Ankit Panda noted that the latest announcement followed fresh US-South Korean military exercises, describing the reported test as "***-for-tat".

Where do the nuclear talks stand?
Very little has moved since the US and North Korean leaders walked out of talks in Hanoi - apart from rhetoric.

The US said talks broke down because North Korea wanted all sanctions lifted in exchange for scaling back its nuclear capacity, but Pyongyang disputes that.

In his most recent comments, Mr Kim urged Mr Trump to pursue a deal that was "mutually acceptable" but also spoke of his excellent ties with the US leader. Mr Trump responded by tweeting generous praise of Mr Kim and also welcomed the idea of another summit.

Earlier this week the State Department announced that Stephen Biegun, its special envoy for North Korea, was heading to Moscow for meetings "with Russian officials to discuss efforts to advance the final, fully verified" denuclearisation of North Korea.

It came as speculation of a possible future meeting between Kim Jong-un and Vladimir Putin intensified.
