We’ll see.

Omar abdullah is a massive joke in Kashmir. He is one of the biggest turn coats and hypocrites around only behind his own father and Mehbooba Mufti.

True. Yesterday Omar was getting upset because the BJP appointed governor of J&K said that militants should kill corrupt ministers who have plundered Kashmir. He seemed to be the one coming up with the most agressive responses against governor's statements. Needless to say that he was shredded to bits by twitter users :yk

I asked: where?

Modi Replied: Kashmir

Trump was very specific about the details...

US President Donald Trump offers to mediate between India and Pakistan on Kashmir

Washington: President Donald Trump on Monday offered to mediate the decades-long Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan, signaling a shift in long-standing US policy that the issue must be solved bilaterally.

Kashmir has been divided between both countries and China since the end of British colonial rule in 1947, and remains at the root of tensions between the two nuclear-armed South Asian countries.

"If I can help, I would love to be a mediator," Trump said at the White House, where he was hosting Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan. "If I can do anything to help, let me know."

It is far from the first time that Trump has offered to intervene in a seemingly intractable international dispute. US mediation, which has long been sought by Pakistan, is likely to be rejected outright by New Delhi.

My assumption here is Trump here is saying the truth is what is believed by Posters, will this trust on Trump be consistent?

For everyone else it would Trumps words over Modi that could be funny time for conservatives in India..

Resolution of Kashmir issue has no benefit for America. It is just something Trump said but I highly doubt that US will be playing any role in this issue anytime soon.

Storm in a teacup. Trump's staff will tell him to step it down a notch and India will give it some other spin like Modi was talking about Azad Kashmir and everything will be back to normal.

If any progress ever happens on Kashmir it will be through back channel diplomacy and not through a faux pas.

Modi - Mr.Trump, would you like to Meditate in Kashmir? (Desi accent)
Trump - Sure, I would like to Mediate on Kashmir.

Not yet. Though dont expect the External affairs ministry to come out with a statement at night.

Most likely it will come out tommorow.

I thought everyone believes on this board that Trump is a clown and his words cannot be trusted as he cannot speak well at all.

I would be very happy of Trump mediates and the LOC is considered as permanent boundary. No more claims of "take it all" from both sides. Anyone who does not like the decision can move to the other side.

I just loved the way IK played to Trumps ego , just brilliant.

Ik has been working over Trump since the moment he got here. The rally he did yesterday is the type of show of power that Trump respects. Having 20k show up to fill a stadium in a foreign country is not something most leaders from developing countries do.

It's in IK's best interest to be the party of peace. Trump has put the GOI on the spot with his words, so if Khan says "let's have talks" and India says no, then India will look bad, and it gives Trump an excuse to keep working over the US immigration system. There's an Indian mafia that has formed here to create a pipeline of Indian IT professionals, many of them unqualified. Trump shuts it down, he looks great to his base, and Pakistan benefits.

It might not make a difference but amazing to see IK bring up Kashmir in front of the whole world. He knew Trump loves himself to be so important and knew he would say of course .

The Modi bombshell by Trump is a slap on Indias face, pure embarrasment.

The aspirations of the people of Kashmir should decide what the final solution is, India claims to be a democracy and I'm assuming Indians are democratic people so they should let the Kashmiris decide what's best for their nation.

Democracy does not mean giving freedom to people to secede from the country completely :)) The rest of the country has to agree too.

Anyway, we can all debate on the message boards for eternity, but the fact is, it will not be resolved until the current LOC is recognized as the permanent boundary.

It removes a potential nuclear flashpoint. So the US has a lot of interest in it.

Indians were desparately waiting for something embarassing to spew out of trumps mouth but instead he turned the tables on them. How is the isooolation campaign going?

Love to see these Indians' burn.
Look at the comments.
If he had said anything against pak, Indians would have been all over it. But he said it against Ind, so now trump is a pathological liar.
Wow.

Raveesh kumar, meray laal, people are asking about trump claim that, Modi asked him first about kashmir issue. care to explain, did he asked or not ?

The ministry spokesperson has tweeted and denied.

munnay, people are asking about trump claim that, Modi asked him first about kashmir issue. care to explain, did he asked or not ?
we didnt ask for ghisi piti line of india stance on blah blah..

This is why Kashmir cant be put to rest.

Instead of finding a solution the focus now will be on who said what when, instead of focusing on the actual problem.

In the big scheme who cares what Modi said to Trump or vice versa, the problem is Kashmir.

Don't trust a single word coming out of Trump or Modi. One is a Grade A liar. The other, well the less said about him the better. Don't envy the diplomats of either nations.

Perhaps listen to what PM Pakistan Imran Khan said? No just focus on what keyboard warriors say.

Imran Khan is willing to solve the issue.

Immy bringing the truth the bare, Modi is a little B who cries to the US about helping deal with Pakistan :)))

Even if it’s not True why doesn’t Modi want this issue resolved ?

We know why, his lunatic base will go bonking mad along with media and establishment.

Forget this, the best part was when Trump said he would ”wipe Afghanistan off the earth”, and yet PTM has the nerve to ask the US to hold Pakistan accountable.

It won't work. Kashmir can only be resolved on the battlefield. First India has to stop meddling in Baluchistan and put an end to sending terrorists like Yadav and Sarbjit.

Forget this, the best part was when Trump said he would ”wipe Afghanistan off the earth”, and yet PTM has the nerve to ask the US to hold Pakistan accountable.

I know right :)) Its obvious PTM is paid by youknowho.

I think Trump is telling the truth, Modi has explaining to do. The irony of all the anti Muslim Hindutuva put into a tight spot is priceless.

Sedition is a crime in USA, now first preach it to your country then the world.

& now this

So far 2019 is so much embarrassing for fellow indians that ahhhh cant tell.

Indians should celebrate this year as happy embarrassment year.

I think slick meant secede. But you secede if you are already part of a country. Kashmir is an occupied territory so it needs to be liberated :D

Lol he got secession and sedition mixed up, the former is legal but the later is a felony.

The people of J&K (on both sides) should come together and decide what they want to do with their land and their future. Thats the ethical thing to do and legal too as per UN resolutions. Any other method where outsiders get to decide what should happen to the people of J&K will simply never be accepted by people who actually own the land.

The Indian Ministry has denied that Modi made any such request. So thats the end of that.

Opposition has got little to do these days. They got slammed in the elections. Now their own legislators are resigning and joining bjp all over India. Opposition govt in Karnataka is about to fall.

Their numbers in the Lok Sabha make no difference.

The MEA has denied this. Thats that.

There is little Trump can do about this

Deal what? US will force India to do anything on Kashmir? Lol.

Already state dept has gone into damage control.

Listen to what trump said :

Modi : i want you to mediate.

Trump : where?

Modi : Kashmir.

Trump mentioned the entire conversation. It wasnt just a passing remark. Highly unlikely Trump would make an entire conversation up.

Listen to what trump said :

Modi : i want you to mediate.

Trump : where?

Modi : Kashmir.

Trump mentioned the entire conversation. It wasnt just a passing remark. Highly unlikely Trump would make an entire conversation up.

And Trump also mentioned a few weeks ago that means he was talking about G20 Osaka and IIRC Modi and Trump both were there.

The Indian Ministry has denied that Modi made any such request. So thats the end of that.

so basically the indian ministry is calling Trump a liar. I wonder how he will respond to this. Modi's upcoming visit to the US got a whole lot more interesting.

silly indian, this is NOT the end, merely the beginning.

I don’t expect Trump to respond, so looks like we’ll never find out what the truth is.

As you mentioned in ICJ case that it's more about perception thn getting your spy back...
