Donald Trump tells Imran Khan he is ready to mediate on Kashmir issue, says Modi asked for his help

Listen to what trump said :

Modi : i want you to mediate.

Trump : where?

Modi : Kashmir.

Trump mentioned the entire conversation. It wasnt just a passing remark. Highly unlikely Trump would make an entire conversation up.

Trump did. Because Indian govt just denied the entire thing. So thats the end of it.

so basically the indian ministry is calling Trump a liar. I wonder how he will respond to this. Modi's upcoming visit to the US got a whole lot more interesting.

silly indian, this is NOT the end, merely the beginning.

US cant do jack on Kashmir. Just look up the latest tweets of the state dept.

You can have your wet dreams on US helping you in Kashmir, they are just that, wet dreams.

If Trump is lying then probably he is trying to use Kashmir as lollypop for Afghan Taliban peace talks.

I actually believe Modi asked Trump to mediate, because Modi isn’t the ”strongman” that his party often portrays him as.

Very tactless of Trump to reveal something that would create controversy in India. Don’t think India will see Trump as a responsible and reliable ally from now on.

Why will Modi ask Trump to mediate? What has India got to lose that they will ask for mediation.

Why will Modi ask Trump to mediate? What has India got to lose that they will ask for mediation.

Maybe because India has finally realized that it doesn’t have the power to force Pakistan into ending the Kashmir dispute? Maybe Modi was trying to get Trump to pressurize Pakistan on Kashmir?

we dont need their help in kashmir..its a nice quagmire for your forces and we intend to keep you there till judgment day..we'll send tea bags and mugs for your armed forces..

Trump did. Because Indian govt just denied the entire thing. So thats the end of it.

So the US president not just lied but created an imaginary scenario and conversation in his head?

I hope Modi says this to Trump in person during his upcoming visit.

Are the Ind govt calling Trump a liar?

lol essentially IK is once again using tactics and strategy here. And once again Modi's slow moving govt have been left on the receiving end. For pakistan to get a sitting american president to even utter the word yes adn mediation in the same sentence is a great move. IK used Trumps ego to his advantage. Now India should rightly ask what their PM is promising behind closed doors while saying something else in public. At the same time if he denies this Modi will look silly in front of Trump (if its true).

Overall a good strategic move by IK..

Modi asked me "Would you like to mediate"?

I asked: where?

Modi Replied: Kashmir

Trump was very specific about the details...

This is going to have implications one way or another, nothing wrong in asking for help but the Indian media will already start its propaganda.

I think Trump made it up, I can't imagine Modi begging for him to mediate this. Makes no sense whatsoever.

For those who watched the coverage of IK and Trump yesterday would realise the latter was a narcissistic with the way he was just bragging about how great he is for US and world peace.

Indian media in a tail spin! :)))

Now tweets of a Democrat are being used to spin a Republican President's statement :))
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Watch?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Watch</a> | An influential Democratic Congressman apologised to India’s US envoy for President Donald Trump’s “embarrassing” remarks on <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/KashmirIssue?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#KashmirIssue</a>. <br><br>Read more here: <a href="https://t.co/OlYtjDsZR8">https://t.co/OlYtjDsZR8</a> <a href="https://t.co/MY9M7aK6zv">pic.twitter.com/MY9M7aK6zv</a></p>— Hindustan Times (@htTweets) <a href="https://twitter.com/htTweets/status/1153581724414042112?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 23, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Maybe they should also take a look at tweets of a Republican Senator with more influence?

"I just apologised to Indian Ambassador Harsh Shringla for Trump's amateurish and embarrassing mistake," Congressman Brad Sherman tweeted hours after Donald Trump's stunning claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought his mediation or arbitration efforts to resolve the Kashmir issue.

https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/us-...barrassing-claim-2073646?pfrom=home-topscroll

Check the post above Brad Sherman is from opposition party Democrat not from Trump's party Republican so how can he apologize lol? He is just point scoring...

Is pakistan capable of taking Kashmir from India? No.

So India has nothing to lose.

Trump has no reason to lie on this issue, Modi as we know has worked up Hindutuva idiots into a frenzy, and doesn't want to lose face.

So Modi knew what will be the reaction of the entire country and still asked Trump to mediate and then deny?

What is this Hindutva you are talking about? No Indian leader has ever sought to compromise on Kashmir, no one will ever.

Trump is a liar who'll promise anything to get through a meeting.

However it has caused some awkwardness amongst the right wing Indian press.

He may be many things but his few words have caused havoc amongst the Hindutuva and that's all that matters at this point. We have to enjoy the squirming of the Inds because they were passionate Trump fans, which makes the whole thing a lot sweater.

He does it regularly. He's a brazen liar.

http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/the-unsettling-list-trumps-made-conversations-keeps-growing

Don't expect anything to come from this, just enjoy the media meltdown across the border.

Rachel Maddow is a strange person to use, she herself has constantly lied for 2 1/2 years about Trump colluding with Russia. She has a sever case of Trump derangement syndrome.

Accuracy in Media national editor Carrie Sheffield feels that Maddow has long “ignored basic journalistic, fact-checking practices and the presumption of innocence in our legal system by relentlessly pushing unproven conspiracy theories about supposed Russian collusion” and her “lapse in journalistic balance” is part of why Americans have declining trust in the national media and why some reporters appear to be distancing themselves from her show.

What is the medical terminology where Trump continue to ask for Obama's birth certificate?

Has India provided every citizen with toilet? or do you come here on PP to take a dump?

Has India improved poverty rate?

This guy.

yup..nothing will come of it as he will be debriefed and then will hug Modi but he will never go back on what he's saying lol which should make this even more hilarious..

Khan was clearly briefed to make that comment about mediation. Good move from the Pakistan team.

Oh yea!

What is the medial terminology where Trump continue to say, KKK Klan, who chanted, "Jews will not replaced us" with tiki torches as great people ?

You have lost me there, I dont have a clue what you are talking about.

Everybody on here is saying trump trump trump, but this is a master stroke by imran khan again. If imran had made a statement it wouldve been business as usual, but the fact that he played trumps ego, and got him to mention it, and then even say modi told him :))) cherry on top.

Now indians themselves have made sure that the kashmir topic is the only thing being discussed. :))

Btw trump is a pathological liar, and i wouldn't be surprised one bit that he made it up.

How to defend their master whilst also not making foreign deity Trump look bad, tricky tricky situation for Hindutva warriors. I don't care much about politics these days but will be fun to observe the mental gymnastics at display by the fascists in power in New Delhi. Since they at so good at lying and brainwashing Indian sheeple, they should overcome this at home but Trump may not take it too kindly considering Modi is scheduled to visit USA this September. Trump owns his Indian bunny as was apparent with the Iran oil sanctions, Modi might be due for another spanking at his hands very soon. Indians deserve all the international humiliation, BJPians might have perfected the art of bullying opponents in the domestic arena but outside India different matter.

Just doesn't make sense Modi will ask him.

Even Indian liberals are suspicious about it.

Maybe Trump misunderstood or is just flat out lying.

Lets take just the case of Pakistan. Pakistan alone has spanked India few times during Modi rule. During Congress time Pakistan was mostly at receiving end. Incidents where Pakistan has upper during Modi Raj.
1. Abhinandan episode.
2. Afghanistan peace Talks. India is not even invited.
3. Khalistan Issue is hot again. Pakistan must have some role to play in it.
4. Trump singing Pakistani Tune. This was a hard slap to RSS chadis.

These Sanghis are good at only bullying the people like Rahul Gandhi. Modi is a weak man and his personal history of dumping his wife and mother and then his guru Adavni shows his character.

I am enjoying this international humiliation of Modi.

This guy is former Indian shill and one of 535+ congressmen in the US house of representatives (equivalent to your Lok Sabha). He doesn't hold any position on foreign relations committee. So it is like MNA from Raja Bazaar Rawalpindi tweeting about international affairs.

You don’t follow politics but you make sure to follow BJP and not Dravidian parties? Something that near to home maybe you should be giving it a look at how the policies among Dravidians parties and BJP has been similar, DMK did it among diff castes and against Hindus similar to what BJP does with religion .. if it wasn't for AIADMK Jaya or Mgr life would be hell for outsiders or even Hindus in TN.

Dmk parties and their IT cell similar to BJp are creating a divide as well.. Stalin leading the way

I agree with you. Modi as PM has been a blessing for Pakistan, even if Imran's government hasn't done much Pak has been made to look good courtesy our inept decision makers. BJP and co are domestic bullies, had we been blessed with a decent national opposition these cowards would have been shown their place like it happens in Tamil Nadu all the time.

I don't follow much politics of late, lost interest after the national election. Hard to sustain interest or hope when a terror accused gets elected by a margin of over 3 lakh votes in a high profile constituency like Bhopal.

Let us not discuss TN politics here bro, this is about India's international relations and BJP is the sole party responsible.

Trump probably never had this exact conversation but the point is that Kashmir is under discussion on international media now which is last thing which India wants. Nothing will come off it and it will die down soon but it is a diplomatic disaster for both India and US.

India is using Twitter statements by random American reps to douse this which isn’t great.

Not sure how is this a diplomatic disaster for India?

If something concrete comes in where Modi had indeed asked Trump....then yeah.

Apart from that, it's just something that will keep news channels happy.

India have officially made a statement. Random Indian posters like me using twitter statements is inconsequential anyway.

So India has nothing to lose.

:))

According to you Pakistan has been occupying Indian land(Azad Kashmir) for decades now. So Pakistan already has taken a big chunk of your land , yet you cant take it back. What are you guys waiting for , the RSS to become martial arts experts?

Maybe he thought Trump was too stupid to remember and just wanted to massage his ego, never thinking IK would visit Washington.

Somebody should keep reminding Trump, that the Indian Gov. has called him a liar especially 5 mins before his meeting w/Modi and see the whole script blow up :sa

I am just having a chuckle as the kerfuffle caused heartburn to all the joshilays

Well kashmiris (you better know border paar kashmiris ;-) ) keep doing palwama type attacks regularly to kill the coward army in chunks, everyone will keep doing what suits him.

Indian leaders from Shastri to Modi have all rejected any compromise on Kashmir.

Arundhati Roy would make a good mediator , she knows a lot about Kashmiri history too

“She further added that Modi is worse than Trump because he enjoys the support of all the elite institutions in India in his extremist propaganda, including the judiciary and the media.

"Look at Trump, he's out of control. But all the institutions are so worried about him.... Whereas in India all the elite institutions have been in some ways taken over by this [Modi]."

The God of Small Things writer then notes, "You have school textbooks [in India], I mean New York Times did a story about school textbooks of great world leaders, with Hitler on the cover!"

I wonder if the right wing Indians love affair with Trump will be finally over.

In any case Imran played this diplomatic master stroke very well. He understood how to get Trump talking the way he wanted.

Indian Media going bonkers because they don’t want talks.

IK has alot of work to do, his economic policy’s need to be rechecked as the economy is in turmoil however in terms of his foreign policy, relations and PR he is hitting the bullseye and undoing the destruction done by the shariffs and zadari who got pakistan isolated diplomatically.

Feb 27 was a major PR win for him, it was a masterstroke even though ISI did most of the work but its been followed by another sixer with his visit to the states and now he is building relations with Russia, Pakistans foreign policy and PR has never been this good. Modi must be burning from inside.

India conveyed its stance loud and clear. They aren’t in for talks till cross border terrorism continues. Trump’s offer to mediate is good when the sides are ready to talk.

India doesnot want talks, and no one can force it until the talks are on India's terms.

Ek hi dil hai, kitni baar jeetoge Imran bhai :yk

Extremist government of India isn’t any mood to solve Kashmir issue.

If they solve Kashmir issue then what else are they going to sell to the gullible Indians?

There are Indians who believed their flying machine killed 300 people then there are those who believe extremists government of India has been successful in isolating Pakistan. Lol

Extremists government of India will and need a boogeymen, which is in the form of Indian Muslims, Kashmiri and Pakistan.

As Imran Khan stated, this very vital Kashmir issue has been ongoing for 70 years now where tragically hundreds and thousands of innocent Kashmiri civilians have been brutally murdered by Indian military forces. FYI, under Modi’s extremely corrupt regime, the scale of human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir been horrifically unparalleled! A long lasting and peaceful resolution is long overdue in Indian occupied Kashmir, and it will be a miracle if the Trump admin can intervene so peace can finally exist in a once very serene and beautiful part of the Indo Pak Subcontinent.

Completely agree with this. These fascists are only good at inciting riots, telling and selling wholesale lies to the electorate and buying out opposition lawmakers.

They don't know a thing about international politics, basically they are too dumb and illiterate to understand that. Merely forcing someone to get into a jhappi and holding grand rallies (where 99% attendants are their hard core followers) in foreign countries isn't how you win over them.

There is no chance for third party mediation on this issue anyway as per the Simla Agreement and then the Lahore accord of 1999, Kashmir is a bilateral issue which can only be resolved by India and Pakistan alone.

If Trump wants to get involved, he will, regardless of any agreement.

Let's face it, it's not been solved in 70 years, both of those "agreements" are nothing but a scrap of paper, one of which Pakistan was forced to sign over at gun point.

How he will?

Will he go to war with India or will he apply sanctions? Because he has been told point blank and publically that no Trump intervention will be entertained by India.

Lets face it, Pakistan has a track record of not following the agreements it signs. So any talks and agreements are useless.

:))

According to you Pakistan has been occupying Indian land(Azad Kashmir) for decades now. So Pakistan already has taken a big chunk of your land , yet you cant take it back. What are you guys waiting for , the RSS to become martial arts experts?

This part confuses me as well. If Pakistan is so incapable and weak, then why don’t India take back the part that they claim belongs to them?

Why isnt China not taking back Taiwan?

Why isnt China taking back parts of India that it claims?

You will know the reason when you see the economies of countries like India,China and compare with those who are so eager to go to war.

Nothing is set in stone. The only way to break this deadlock is a third party mediating.
