Dropped Catches That Last Forever in Your Mind

Boult dropping Stokes in WC 19 finals?

It was either dropped or caught with foot on the rope I dont remember exactly

yes all mental midgets who should have known better..you could tell they were nervous and had mentally lost already..no jazba..

Or perhaps they got paid handsomely to drop those catches. Find it hard to believe a batsman can be dropped four times in one match.

If Sreesanth had dropped THAT catch, I don't think anything ever would have topped it.

If my memory serves me right there was a moment in that match during India's batting where Hafeez's fingers grazed a ball going over the rope for 6 during India's batting. In a game with small margins that was so crucial.

Infact I was correct lol. Hafeez DID palm a ball for 6 in the last over of India's innings

19.2 Tanvir to Rohit Sharma, SIX runs
Slower ball, on the stumps, Rohit waits on the ball and hits it to midwicket. Hafeez is there and should take it ... No! He gets hands to it but ends up palming the ball over the ropes

The fact that I still remember this pretty much says that it will last forever in my mind :malik
I'm surprised this drop isn't as infamous as it should be :hafeez2

Theirs way too many

But i guess the one that shocked me the most
Was sohail tanvir vs bangladesh 2012 t20 world cuo group stage

Pakistan won the match so it wasnt the contedt of the match but rather the catch itself , it was the most simple straight forward catch that a seven year old with their eyes closed could have caught, yet some how tanvir managed to drop it

It had to be Hafeez drop in 07 T20 WC worst of all he palmed it for a six & in the end Pakistan lost the game by 5 runs. Pakistan would've won that game when Misbah hit Sharma for a straight six

Kamran Akmal and his multiple dropped catches against Australia, Sydney 2009.

Asif Ali dropping Warner in CWC 19, purely because I have never laughed so hard at a cricket match in my life. When the camera pans up to the bald guy in the crowd. I knew immediately that it would become a meme.

Yes, that bald guy has kinda become an iconic symbol of Pakistan's 2019 WC campaign :))

I'm glad someone besides me remembers this one.
Everything went wrong that day. Hafeez palming the ball for 6. Afridi used to come out with a promo before batting in WT20 07 "favorite shot anywhere for 6" and he gets out on 0 of 1. Those 6 runs really haunt me

Oh where to start

1. Sohail Tanvir and Umar Gul dropping catches off each other bowling in 2012 against Sri Lanka. Pathetic fielding from both

2. Tendulkar's dropped catches. Whether 2003 or 2011, just... avoidable. Four dropped catches of Tendulkar and bar Kami, all by some of our best fielders. Misbah, Younis and Umar Akmal, just plain pathetic.

3. Rahat Ali dropped off Watson. Riaz was bowling one of his best spells ever and looked assure to get Pakistan a upset, yet Rahat dropped a dolly.

4. Salman Butt juggling. Salman Butt at silly point dropped a dolly after good bowling from Asif. Just mediocre.

5. The dropped catches of Amir in 2016 Test against England. Hafeez and Sarfaraz come into my head for dropped catches but what awful slip & WK fielding.

This catch gets talked about a lot here but that was a very tough chance. It was half a chance at best and would've been a difficult take for the best of fielders.

In comparison, the drops in the 2011 semifinal were sitters and the drops were far more criminal.

IIRC before that drop Akram told Razzak move bit backward.. Had he obey the captain that'd have been regulation catch..

No. 3

Thisara Parera dropped a sitter (PAK vs SRL) Champions Trophy 2017 at that time Sarfaraz was batting and we were in a situation to lose the match.

No. 2

All the catches dropped by Pakistan in our game against India WC 2011.

No. 1

Still can't get over that catch which was dropped by Rahat Ali when Shane Watson faced aggressive bowling by Wahab Riaz (PAK vs AUS 2015 WC).

Easy regulation drop cost us heavy in 1987 WC semi. Then Gooch went on sweep spree to score century.

Rahat dropping Watson. Mostly because it was so simple I’m pretty sure I would have caught it.

We could have made a serious run at that game if we had Aussie down 60/4 with Wahab charging in. That catch single handedly took the air out of our fight.
