Great. The team we played in the first warm up was more than acceptable but this is basically a team of nobody's. :facepalm:

I got slightly excited after reading 'Kleinvelt' (thinking it's the SA backup seamer). It turns out it's his cousin.

Still, it's better than nothing. Hopefully the batsmen you failed in the last test (Hafeez, Azhar, YK) can find some form to at least give them some confidence going into the 2nd test.

This match was only scheduled last week, so what else could we expect?

This should have been an old-fashioned tour, with three First Class matches v the major provinces before the First Test instead if the India ODIs and Presidents Cup final. And there should have been a First Class match at Cape Town this weekend.

That would have allowed Whatmore and Misbah to determine Shafiq, Azhar and Rahat's capability in South African conditions in advance, instead of using the First Test as an audition.

expect any changes to the team to reflect who will play in the 2nd test. i just hope Imran Farhat doesnt play.

but most of PP Members want him in team his current age is 34 can not bowl long spell
look at Ehsan Adil other hand 20 Year old Young star Future of pakistan team can bowl long spell plus taken Lots wickets in President,s cup
Ehsan Adil is lot better than Unless Rahat Ali
 
Ehsan adil fans should understand the fact that he is not ready simple as that

Rahat Ali bowling Full Toss again and again Line and Length all over the place

Ehsan Adil have control on line and length plus Height advantage to
 
Ehsan into the attack.
Whoever is the best performer will be in the side as the third seamer Rahat vs Irfan vs Tanvir vs Ehsan.
 
No Gul, Ajmal, Junaid or Hafeez.

Weird considering Hafeez and Ajmal need time in the middle.

Hafeez and Ajmal needed more practice...

Good idea to test all the 3 fast bowlers to check each one of them and then select who looks in good shape....

Is Imran Farhat really injured..:13:
 
Ehsan Adil should be played in the 2nd Test, If Gul is going to open the bowling.

So,you think Misbah,Younis,Sarfraz,Jamshed,Asad are not certain starters.??

Good to rest Junaid and Gul but i do not understand resting Hafeez specially

Our Batsmen need as much practice that they can get, Hafeez should've been played but i guess he will not be dropped as he is handy with the ball too and if Farhat does perform than maybe Azhar will make way for him.

PLZ PLZ dpnt play faisal iqbal and imran farhat.... this would be soo bad. in the one match farhat has playued over here, he was horrible.
 
They are giving their wickets away... again gifted wicket. Africans wont give us these.
 
And Irfan bowls a yorker to get rid of Kleinveldt.

Atleast give our bowlers enough chance to show themselves... if our bowlers get 60 over,it will be ideal
 
Its ironic that now a days bowler and batter like Gully and Hafeez are guaranteed a place in XI............testing times for Pakistan
 
Tanvir in opening spell is bashed all round the park.....looks like the selectors only give weight to Stats....guy is 34 so if were looking for and old head then Cheema should have been preferred

Our domestic is not a good selecting point.
 
Irfan must play the next match , we need x factor in our bowling rathar than the steady stuff.
 
Tanvir is a new ball bowler..But he has been disappointing so far..and it is clear that he is harmless with the old ball

If he cant a wicket or atleast be economical against these guys who are gifting it away then yeah tanvir has lost it.
 
Why is Abdur Rehman bowling so much?

Do they plan to play him ?
 
That Englebrecht guy who is at the crease played u19 WC in Malaysia when SA defeated Pakistan in the semis I think. Remember him as an excellent fielder.
 
Seems M. Irfan is doing well out of the 4 pacers on display.

They need to bowl him enough so he can prove them his fitness. About 20 overs should do.
 
I thought we should go in with 4 fast bowlers & no spinner but looking at the way they are bowling it will be hard to find 4th seamer

Nah. I think 12-14 overs should be enough. Give Adil atleast 20 overs
 
"out tanvir pulls in a yorker... good delivery but still not done enough to get in the side.
