Normally, no one would care about this series but quite a few eyes will be on this following some changes in Australia's personnel since #Sandpapergate. Can England bounce back from their shock defeat against Scotland?

Australia struggling. They are 67-3 off 15.2 overs.

Aussies have no answer for The Beard!

Australia's batting order is absolutely mediocre. Warner, Finch and Smith are the only batsmen who're worth a damn. The rest wouldn't get in C teams of India, England or South Africa.

It's incredible how poor Australia looks vs spin.

Something for Pakistan to keep in mind for the next world cup when they face teams like Australia/South Africa/New Zealand. Might be better off going into matches with a heavy spin attack.

Looks good for the T20 next month with Shadab and Nawaz in the team.

New Zealand could be very difficult. They have two very good batsmen like Guptill and Taylor who can absolutely decimate bowling attacks on their day, and Williamson to stabilize.

IMO at the moment NZ is a more dangerous side than Aus or SA. They have explosive bats, loads of batting depth and excellent bowlers.

90/5 after 20.... That is Misbah-era scorecard.

Moeen once again proving that Non-Asian teams cannot play a straight ball.

Bad Luck You Aussies! :boycott

IDK how people are rating Aussies as one of the favs for the WC next year....

Finch, Head, Marsh, Stoinis, Paine, Maxwell..... that is the most boring and uninspiring Aussie top six that I have EVER seen since I started watching cricket in the late 90s. Good luck for the WC next year Convict

They’ll have Smith and Warner back by then.

Smith and Warner would be a shadow of their former selves after 2 years of zero cricket. Also there is nothing to suggest that they would be picked the day after their ban ends, they would have to prove their mettle in domestics. Aus cricket is very meritocratic.

Even Bangladesh would easily whitewash this Australia team in BD. This is possibly the weakest Australia ODI team of all time, even with the bowlers they have.

Pakistan, New Zealand and India are the only decent sides in modern limited overs cricket. England are okay.

True but the rust for batsmen is different from the rust for bowlers.

Hope they come back strong.

Just not against Pakistan. :sarfraz

Now you know it is like for everyone else to watch Pakistan batsmen. :)

Come off it.

I never thought I would say this in my life after growing up watching England repeatedly mess up games in ODI cricket, and prioritize the Ashes over the World Cup - but they are now, in my eyes, the best ODI outfit.

They have power hitting covered, bat deep, and have two good all rounders. Bowling wise...I suppose this is where England are a bit less blessed. No out and out bowling star. Spinners in Ali and Rashid are good, but not great. But...they have options as Ali and Stokes are both good enough to count as batsmen alone, so can have around 6 good bowling options in the side. In any case, its a batsmen's game, and I would back England to comfortably score 300+ in most games. Can't say that for any other side.

They had an off day against Scotland, but these things happen, and to be honest, its probably a good reality check. Favorites for the world cup at home next year.

Pakistan...always worried about the batting. Some days it clicks, and on others...well we know the story. Best chance of winning rests with the bowlers performing a squeeze job.

India...don't have the power hitters, quick bowling options are okay...and inclusion of wrist spinners improve the slow bowling. They need Dhawan to score big, and Kohli to chase on beast mode.

NZ...overrated. Hipster choice, and nice to build them up - but man for man, not as good as some of the better sides. And they don't win anything.

I will rate England when they get some decent bowlers... The likes of Plunkett, Wood, Willey, Woakes, Moeen, Rashid don’t cut it.

Ali is fine in England, as is Woakes. The rest, I agree, are an uninspiring bunch. But, as I said earlier, if you can get 300/350 regularly, you are in with a shout of winning more often than not.

But then how do you rate India. Batting wise, apart from Kohli, I think England have the stronger unit. And even if I don't particularly rate the English bowling attack, definitely don't think its worse than India's by any means.

England probably have a better batting lineup than India but none of their batsmen match the class and match winning ability of Kohli. Their bowling though is far worse.

They just cut up Australia.

Plunkett should have played more tests than he has.

Australia have been bowled out for a paltry 214,inside 47 overs. No real contributions from the Aussie batsmen, except Agar(40) and Maxwell, who returned to form with 62.

3 wickets each for Moeen Ali and Liam Plunkett.

i thought we (pak) also had 2 t20 matches against england

guess not

Don’t like the idea of Hales batting at 3. He needs to swap places with Bairstow.

Morgan should surpass Bell as England leading run-scorer in this series itself.

So Root yet again dismissed for 50 without closing the match.

Australia have clawed their way back and have a glimmer of a chance.

Gotta respect Australia's fighting spirit. They pretty much never give up.

Their batting is pretty much minnow level without Warner and Smith.

Some poor shots by some England players again.

England strength was their batting but is looking dodgy so far this summer.

Played England. Made a meal of it, but in the end got over the line fairly comfortably.

English batting lineup is scary good on 350-400 type flat decks as they have monster hitters throughout their lineup. But im not sure they can do much on slower surfaces or a pitch with some movement on offer.

Also NZ are definitely not a hipster choice as far as ODI cricket goes. I actually think they have the second best ODI batting lineup in guptill, Taylor, Williamson, Latham and they have a well rounded attack of both pace and spin.
