What's new

England (246 all out) beat India (146 all out) by 100 runs in the 2nd ODI at Lord's

This will be a difficult chase, Pitch is looking sticky as long as you bowl length difficult to stroke it. kohli is the key

Despite his ordinary form Kohli is still one of India’s best bats (possibly their best) on dicey SENA pitches.

India got a long tail. Had eng batted more sensibly at the top india would have struggled with their aging stars

Pant gone for a blob. Lol

Not a great start from India

English batsmen once again found Indian bowling too hot to handle as they folded out for 246.

It will be interesting to see if India will win by 10 wickets again or England will manage to take couple of wickets atleast?

Fantastic prediction Bro.

Also this Pant experiment up the order needs to stop. His problem isn't batting position but he's just not figured out a game for white-ball cricket.

For some reason he is always in 2 minds and ends up attacking half-heartedly and gets out.

and 3 down now....

Was hoping for a close game but seems India and esp Kohli bottled it after a couple of early wickets.

Time for India to drop Virat, folded like a pack of cards under pressure here.

England need to be lauded despite 3 out of 4 wickets being soft.

Mainly because they didn't come out ultra aggressive trying to search for wickets. They kept Indians quiet and we obliged them with some really woeful dismissals.

It's actually embarrassing how much Indian batters have struggled against left-arm pace in recent memory. Somebody needs to do a statistical breakdown of how many times guys like Amir, Shaheen, Boult, Wiley etc. have gotten the wickets of top-order Indian batters.

Certainly don't think its a coincidence that England are playing 2 left arm seamers today.

What a strange wicket. Seems flat but is clearly tricky to bat on. Almost like an old school subcontinental slow-and-low pitch from the 90s where 220 chases would be exciting.

He is world class as far as front foot game is concerned probably the best in the world. however the achilles has always been the back of the length ball outside off which he plays on the front food

You forgot Mustafiz :inti

I spoke too soon

Also he has been playing some vintage Kohli shots throughout the slump. His problem has been converting those starts into 50s or 100s. Which used to be bread and butter for him.

Team management and Kohli need to figure out a way, just playing international cricket and hoping he fights his way back to form hasn't been working.

He needs a break from international cricket and probably go to Ranji/County. Get some big runs under his belt.

India need 209 runs from 38 overs.

Required rate is under control , just need a partnership.

Rajdeep what’s the score?

It's definitely a difficult pitch to bat.
Indian bowlers bowled poorly. They should have restricted england to 200.

Wicket is breaking. You can see uneven bounce (not a lot) but someone like Topley is extracting way more bounce and even the Willey dismissal of Kohli was off a good length but surprised Kohli with bounce.

I think Moeen Ali would do really well here.

some very ordinary shots/dismissals from india so far.

Actully, its not at all about his form. It's about his entire game which work on front foot and his wrist which allows even good length balls to be maneuvered towards mid-wicket. The entire world has taken note of his over commitment on the front foot and started bowling just back of the length and outside off and keeps knicking them all the time.

In the international cricket its called "Finding out a batsmen" it will be a uphill struggle as he will need to change his entire game which is not easy

Poor bowling from England since kohli wicket. Been both sides of the pitch and either too full or too short

I think Jamie Overton is better than Craig.
He has got pace and can bat as well.

He should play over Craig.

Only we can play so many have beens in all formats of the game. Dhawan, Kohli are finished for so long now but we can't dare to drop them.

India getting it wrong here.

Too many big shots and it's not that type of track.

This match is replica of 2019 world cup final on similar pitch and similar total on same day 14 july

Deja vu

Only difference would be that we won't reach anywhere near England's total.

The amazing Mr. Topley

India needs one more allrounder after Pandya. The likes of Prasidh Krishna makes the tail super long.

A good old 90's ODI type match.

I suspect the rockstar Jadeja to do something modern here.

How this guy keeps getting into the ODI team is mind boggling. Not good enough to be fifth bowler or bat in the top 7. Jaddu the freeloader

Hardik has excellent stats with the bat vs top teams. I think he averages close to 45 at 110+ strike rate against top teams.
