England [396/7d] beat India [107 & 130] by an innings and 159 runs to take a 2-0 series lead

Pandya is looking embarrassing at the crease. Looks like he is going for the record of getting hit the most number of times by a cricket ball.
 
India is known for good batting line up, but current reality is different. Does not look like top 4-5 test playing nations.
 
Pandya to score a few here in a nothing to lose situation and be hailed as the best all rounder ?
 
Pandya batting well. Hopefully he atleast entertain people if can't draw/win.

Hardik 'Sobers' Pandya - 3 wickets while bowling and currently the highest scorer in the 2nd innings. Best ever all-rounder :D
 
Pandya is a clean striker but his bowling is mediocre. Ashwin is pure class and potentially better than Dev as an AR.

I know people want to dunk on him. But he has done reasonably well under the circumstances, in both games

Hahah Mikey and Nasser making a mockery of the BCCIs promotion of India. Harby keeps trying to point out Pandya is a good all rounder. They ain't having any of it lol

Actually no. He basically did nothing in the 1st game.
And in the second game he got only 1 wicket which was potentially useful, other two he got when the game was potentially gone. Now he's batting let's see what he can do.
But we cannot have all-rounders have such low expectations if we want to be competitive abroad

Shadab and Fahim won us 2 test matches on the trott in similar conditions before somewhat failing in the final game of the entire tour.

I am not trying to troll here but Pandya was basically selected as the 3rd seamer by India considering Ishant and Shami are also in the lineup so basically while we selected Amir/Hasan/Abbas and then Faheem and Shadab; Pandya was considered by his management to fill the boots of a genuine quick as well as being able to feature in the top 6 as well.

This line of thinking followed by all the reasoning given by certain 'fans' led us to believe that he is probably next in line after Sobers and when someone who is touted to be such a huge impact player bags 3 wickets on a seamer paradise with cute cameos then he will be critised regardless of whatever situation he might be coming in.

I would be the first one to tip my hat to his efforts if from here onwards he can get India out of this hole and save the game for them - Just like Faheem and Shadab did for 2 consecutive games under similar conditions and in a much tougher cricketing period (early summer).
 
Pandya has played his best innings of the tour. Got beaten a lot of times, got hit a few times and managed a paltry 26 in the end. Joke of a cricketer :))

So what’s the point. He is not going to win you every game. Neither are Pakistan’s all rounders

He batted comparatively well in the first game, and in the second game he is India’s second best seamer.

Pandya won’t win India a test match ever in his career. He might be an alright batsman, but one of the worst seamers going around in world cricket at the moment

England been that good, Poor Adil Rashid not even had a say. Not even a bat in eng inns either lol. What a comeback for him after all the scrutiny he got for getting picked without a 4 day county contract.

If Pandya plays as the fourth seamer you'd have to bench the leggie because you can't put Ashwin away as he's your 2nd best batsman in the team and Pandya bats no higher than #7. That's the only way I can see Pandya being remotely useful (at least in test matches).

This test match was an embarrassment for test cricket.

It was no1 ranked team playing with no 5 ranked team.... but no 1 ranked got crushed like there is no tmw

Nah. Irish players have tons of experience playing in county, there opening bolwers had around 1000 first class wickets in county and there batsmen had tons of runs and they were playing at home.

In Test Matches, Allrounders will only win you a game when they're very good in their primary discipline and decent in their lesser attribute. Faheem is a bowling alrounder yet he comes on as the fourth seamer and wipes the floor with someone like Pandya (especially in the bowling dept).

As I mentioned earlier, Pandya was selected as the third seamer but failed to make any impact in both the games. Now many might say he's a batting alrounder to which I will agree and say alright fair enough! However, if that is the case why is he getting owned here innings after innings? and not making an impact like a batting allrounder should be able to! Heck even woakes came out and scored century who is a bowling allrounder himself for the English side

At the moment Faheem's contribution in both bat and ball trumps that of Pandya and there is no two ways about it while as far as Shadab is concerned he is leagues ahead of Pandya as an alrounder.

They havent played a lot of test matches but did play a cruicial role in UK tests by developing some good partnerships and taking cruicial wickets.

They have the ability to win test matches on their own especially Shadab but just need more matches under their belt
 
I am sure even scotts would have troubled this Ind batting line in may earlier.
 
You know your team is in a cosmic hole when R Ashwin is the highest scorer in your team from both the Innings!
 
Will Ind ever arrange a test match against Scotts in the month of may in the future? If they do, they will make a bold statement before playing England in the future.

If you are an Indian fan I dont blame you. One can sometimes be delusioned as a fan and you are not alone, fans from all countries one time or another can get a bit biased.

But in my opinion predictions should be based upon cricketing knowledge and without biasedness alone. Though funny thing is many basing it on cricketing knowledge have gone wrong in this series prediction.
