And this is why highest scoring doesnt reflect the true picture.

Head was the highest scorer but onpy his 2nd test innings is memorable. 3rd test was mostly done when smith had more or less managed everything. Pitch was super easy to bat on as well at the time for Head.

Similarly the 1st test aus batted poorly. Jaiswal scoring a super ton means nothing when kohli managed to do it amd kohli at this point was so embrassing that he and rohit ran away from tests in an embrassing fashion.

Because even kohli knew that by the time he'd get 700+ runs in test to get 10K, his avg would have fallen even below 40 since hes been avg 27 for eons now.
