We need to go for a win here. Credit to England going for quick runs then declaring when they could have played for a draw. It greatly depends if Azhar can return to bat if needed. This one is on a knife edge folks where we should at least get a result. I am gonna stick my head out and go for an England win:sharjeel
 
263 runs on final day and pitch is flat.

I think this is Pakistan's game to lose. They are favorites.
 
Match on a knifes edge imo.

If there is an early wicket, then a 5th day pitch, a relatively inexperienced/weak tail and pressure all make it look very hard for Pakistan.

It's another 263 to chase so you can't win it in a session, even if a great partnership forms. But you sure can lose it in a session if you lose a few wickets. 2 wickets and the tail is being exposed.

If Pakistan chase this they will have played very well. There's no such thing as an easy 300+ 4th innings chase.
 
First bat till lunch with concentration , and then take it from there. Partnership is the key.
 
Ideally,

Imam, Saud, Rizwan and Agha (and Azhar hopefully) should take Pakistan to within 70 runs to win

Naseem, Zahid, Rauf and Muhammad Ali should be able to manage the rest
 
Azhar needs to treat this like a life or death situation and come out to bat even if he can only hold the bat with one hand.

Come out and cop blows to the body and face if needed but make sure that a partnership is built.

Pakistan should win this one inshAllah but if they do I'll be angry if Ramiz, Saqlain or Babar try to credit the victory to their tactics.

Ben Stokes has performed a supreme sacrifice in an attempt to bring life to a dead match and it's not due to Pakistans brilliance that we are in this position.
 
Was expecting a run feast & a draw but credit to England for making a game of it ,if the openers had played out the last session then it would’ve been our game to loose but with 2 down including Babar , England are slight favourites .. if we pull this off … it will be epic & the next 2 games will be very spicy..
 
Pakistan should play normally. There is nothing in this pitch and Eng has like 2 bowlers. Probably 80 overs of play so just over 3 runs per over.

Key will be to not lose wickets in clusters. I earlier did not realize that one batsman may not bat and gave Pakistan 80% chance to win here, but given the situation it's probably 60-40 in Pakistan's favor. A very interesting set up for the last day.
 
with Babar already gone thats almost job done for Eng though still hoping for a miracle
 
Easy chase on the cards. No need to panic, enough overs available for comfortable chase.
If England gets 2 quick wickets then things will spice up.

This test sure has been England bowling quite a lot. Bowled mostly in the 2nd day, bowled all day for the 3rd, bowled a decent amount in the 4th day and could potentially be set to bowl all day today on the 5th day.

Hopefully Pakistan can pull it off but the batting lineup doesn't exactly inspire a whole lot of confidence.
 
Assuming we get another 80 overs, RRR is around 3.17 That is very much possible. I won't call this a great declaration by Stokes.
 
Very likely a planned dismissal. Imam has been strangled down leg a few times. Most notably in the 2019 WC match against Australia
 
Done deal now, We'll played England, and there was only one time who played to win through out. Hats off.
 
Mental Midgets Pakistani players. Can never perform under pressure when it counts. Only players in the world who will indulge in a blockathon on a dead wicket. Zero attempt to put any pressure on the bowlers to force them to change their line, length, tactics, field placements.

Everyone blocks as if the bowlers will eventually give them a Halwa ball.
 
Unnecessary blocking is i cant understand. Its part of their old cricket coaching program to take your time to settle down initially which is long outdated in international cricket.

Go for the shots whenever you find loose delivery

And then Rizwan coming out to protect Azhar. If Azhar needs protection then he doesn't need to be in team.

They keep dreading about the defeat which is really the polar opposite of how a sportsman should approach a game
 
So much for approaching this match to win it.

Nothing is even happening on this pitch and their blocking off the pacers like they're batting in England swinging conditions.
 
A couple of boundaries early followed by nothing… no strike rotation or intent. No one one is asking for them to play like Brooks but some intent would have been nice to see.
 
Time to make Azhar Ali scrape goat for the loss as they made Shaheen Shah in T20 WC Final.
 
10 runs in seven overs, yesterday they had run rate of 4, toady I know it's new start but atleast 3 rpo was must to put some pressure back, when you play like scared kittens you are bound to fail.
 
Pakistan need to look for draw , they do not have the mindset or skills to chase this.

This is the best these batsmen can do , you cannot push someone beyond there skill sets. They are not world beaters
 
What a bunch of crappy batsmen we have honestly. Loser mindset from management to captain to players. It's been instilled in them since they were kids.

If it was the lack of skills, these guys could not bat at 3-4 rpo in normal circumstances, it is clearly mindset and ability to handle pressure and trust me having a high quality team management, captain and environment makes a big difference

Just look at how England were playing their cricket under Joe Roots captaincy where they lost 15 consecutive tests but now look how much of a difference Mccullam as coach and Stokes as captain have made to the approach of the English team collectively.

A change in team management and captaincy is much needed now.
 
The best this lot can do is bat defensively on a flat deck. That's thr test level skills they have.

If they lose so be it as nature's law, but a draw is the main pinnacle.
 
There’s no point playing for a draw right now. There’s too many overs and none of these duds have the resilience and will to bat that long.

May as well try to chase this down because clearly these jobbers will get bounced out if they don’t either way. They don’t know how to defend or leave short pitched bowling nor how to score off of it. Even on a dead pitch! :facepalm
 
So after the boundaries in the first couple of overs, Pakistan have 2 runs in the 7 overs following since.

Nai it's not about skills it's about mindset and pressure, otherwise they have and they can score around 3 to 4 runs per over, they done it in first inning done it yesterday first 20 overs, today they just try to be over cautious for the sake of it and actually it's counter productive and playing in hands of Poms. They just lose it under slightest of pressure just safety first defeatist mentality otherwise you don't need extraordinary skills tu score around 3 rpo here.
 
A bunch of timid cowards. Were pretty much favorites to reach the WTC final at the start of the year with so many home matches to come, and now have wasted one golden opportunity after another thanks to terrible pitches and negative approach. Captain, selectors, management, all need to be sacked.
 
It’s too early to know if Pakistan will be pushing for a win today but if they don’t then I sincerely hope they lose.

Ability to handle pressure is also pasrt of skills.

England were batting well in shorter formats already , Pakistan do not have such players in any format. In name of power hitters they have sloggers .
 
What happened man. What a loser team this is.

Say what you want about the 90s team or even the 2000s teams, but they were not p****** like this era.

Self fulfilling prophecy of being scared to lose -> you almost always lose.
 
They have tried this approach thousands time but always never worked why not change it for goodness sake, why just they can't play normally, sometimes I get with this much terrible attitude how they still somehow wins some matches otherwise this approach alone deserve to lose every single time. Lgta hai aaj score bnanay walay ko shot at sight ka order hai, first they create a pressure situation out of nothing for no reason then duly fall for it.
 
Even under Misbah we were more aggressive than we are now in tests.

Please remove this guy from captaincy. One of the worst captains ever.

No one will be sacked , these things have been going on for decades.
 
The English think tank is so miles ahead of the Pakistani team management, look at the field that Stokes has for Saud Shakeel on the off side, they clearly have a plan for every batsman.
 
Has this pitch become minefield? I have seen scoreboard on cricbuzz from past 30 min and its around 90 still

Someone needs to go into the field and slap these two, especially Shakeel. What is he doing?
 
None of our batsmen have any release shots. If the opposition bowlers will bowl and tie them down on a particular line, length, field placing, our batsmen will block 6 deliveries out of 6.

In contrast England players played many different shots with respect to the field placings, bowling line, length and even walked across the stumps to play to the leg side pressuring the bowlers to over compensate on the off side which opened up a boundary opportunity on the off side.

Batting is an art.
 
A timid character like Babar should never be the captain of any international team.
 
I think plan from pakistan is play 2 session cautiously without loosing many wicket. Than play bazball in last session with 150 runs to get and 5-6 wickets in hand.

Pakistan have been outclassed a lot of times over the years for sure but the extent of the humbling England have dished out in this game is unheard of. The gap between approaches has never been bigger than right now. There is no hiding place for this team now.

This is so embarrassing to watch. Pathetic approach. It's inevitable that they're going to lose wickets. at least show some runs for it. It's right there.
 
A team which is visiting Pak after 17 years and have no idea about conditions in Pak has scored @ RR of above 6 in this test match. On the other side, Pak players who have learned all their cricket in these conditions are surrendering shamefully. They have no intention to play shots.
 
Captain Babar is so shameless, he doesn't care about public humiliation he has to face.
 
Can't win if your just this scared to lose. Imagine if we had gone for it... Would've been a historic win.
 
Rizwan how is usually a busy player is also wetting his pants, this is clearly team approach, such a bunch of losers, they can't even do the ordinary, joke is not on them joke is on us fans, for expecting the expected from this lot and they can't even do the expected and alwys self destruct that too on purpose. Inko khud se hmadardi nai and they don't give a damn why fans should, we should give up on this sorry lot by now until they grow a pair and atleast can do the ordinary and expected forget about anything special.
