England to meet Pakistan in the final of the T20 World Cup after thrashing India by 10 wickets

LOL they chased in 16 overs only.
Most awful bowling performance ever by a team in the knockouts.

170-0 damn it hamara record thok daala... india ko thok daala... na na naa naa na na naaa naa hey hey good bye...

There's that!! An epic Phainty by England. Incredible batting.

Congrats to England. Good luck to England and Pakistan for the final!!

oye Irfan Pathan koi GRACE hoti hai, banda thori bohat fight hi dikhaata hai, today a blind xi would have done better

Absolute battering. We don't deserve anything better

Best of Luck to Pakistan and England. Quality teams in the final

End of Rohit Sharma as white ball captain me thinks.

End of his T20I career as well.

I'm not even sure if India should play him in the 2023 WC. If it was held outside Asia, then he'd probably be asked to retire now.

Rohit and Kohli are responsible for this loss. Kohli played a selfish knock and batted at a slow strike rate given the situation he batted in. India needed a minimum of 200 on this wicket.

Eoin Morgan was very strict and severe on English batters playing for their individual milestones. He did not like any batsman ending his innings not out and not looking to play the big shots.

Another SF loss for India but this one will have long lasting repurcussions. More than half the team will be culled. Needs to be

Unless shameless seniors stay away from T20s we will never do well in this format! They need to take a cue from Sachin Tendulkar who never wanted to play in International T20s.... His decision to not play in T20Is gave us the lone world cup for us (because it was led by a young Dhoni with lots of fresh ideas and fresh players relevant to those days!) This is the squad we had:
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...07-08-286109/india-squad-305846/series-squads

No player above 30 years with Agarkar being the senior most (29 years).

India have lost by 10 wickets in consecutive tournaments where they've set 150+ target for the opposition.

Certainly not the best bowling attack in the world.

I think this even funnier than SA’s meltdown.

This was just probably the biggest thrashing I’ve seen. Carnage pure carnage. Even the minnows fave England a better game

This loss will be seen as a collective failure and no one blamed along with the great coach and captain and they probably booked their places in next odi WC

They never were the best bowling unit. They relied on swing and spin. Ball didn't swing much and spinners never actually showed up in this tournament. Some good memories from this WC unlike the last one. SF is a decent achievement but thenSF Phainty takes away some of that joy. A bit of fight would have helped

that was a thrashing

10 wickets in hand
4 overs

England got the momentum

I wonder why they didn't have Ishaan Kishan. And in the bowling Umran and there was this other guy that plays test matches.

No way!! I will be very surprised if half of these play another T20I.

India :)))

England are a great team but India’s bowling is trash . Batting not much better . Pakistan should never have lost to this teen

This is beyond sad. Top class IPL superstars are not playing ICC final?

Isn’t this sad or what?

IND 168/6 (20)

ENG 170/0 (16)

England won by 10 wkts

PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Alex Hales

India is exactly like the English football team. Great league but not much to show in world cups.

Expect major changes in Indian and Australian teams soon

Wow! England 170/0 in 16 overs

A second thumping 10-wicket loss for India in T20 world cups

The question is: Has Eng already played their perfect game and time for a serious damper coming up?

England arguably the best team in this format despite that freakish loss to Ireland

Batting firepower makes them a very dangerous side

I think our bowling is better though. More variation. Better pacers and spinners.

Depends how Pak bat in the final

Not only our bowling is better, we will be playing at the biggest field in AU. We don't have power hitting and it will be important for us not to drop chances at the boundry

We will not be hitting many 6s. The strategy should be to take max advantage of long boundaries with 2 and 3s. Let eng try big and catch them at the boundry. Let see

You keep lying about that.. seniors sit down due to poor wc they had.. it's not hard to understand..

Great by Hales and Butler but absolutely shambolic bowling by India throughout yltje match. Atleast NZ were able to pull back a little bit.

I been saying England is the team to beat and then they lost to Ireland. Epic phainta, makes me wish we were playing India in finals but let's see if Afiridi will be the difference maker from home series against England

That’s a brilliant brilliant win.

Absolutely glorious.

36 overs of total cricket domination.

Well done England.

India need to make IPL 11 months a year as clearly they need more practice for these T20 world cups 😉

Great entertainment. Loved the hitting by English batsmen. This is how T20 should be played on a flat wicket. You can't tuk tuk against guys like Livingstone. India was thoroughly outplayed. Thanks for the thrashing lol It will atleast try to make them think. Heard Hales played for Adelaide team in BBL? The way he used the ground dimensions was phenomenal. Definitely most entertaining match of the tournament even though we lost. Good luck England.

This side may very well struggle on a faster MCG pitch. But boy they put on an exhibition of how to play on a road.

What an absolute shellacking!!! ... Indian bowling culture needs to change.. otherwise expect more of the same in ICC tournaments

Well done england, hopefully you will be poor on sunday 😉

India's only chance is when the ball swings. This was a given. Only at the MCG/Perth ball did swing. Other places were pretty placid.

He has an ODI highest score of 175 against Pakistani phaaast bowlers.

Hales scored 171 over 5 years ago against the trundelr brigade consisting of Hasan, Amir and spray gun Riaz.

He would not fare similarly against Shaheen, Haris and Naseem!

First of all not playing a leg spin is a crime in Australian conditions. You lose half the battle right there. Then you have incredibly woeful b atting depth. As per stats India has the worst powerplay numbers. INdia always played catch up game in the end overs

India's biggest problem is attacking spinners. Especially the leggies. They just let Livingstone and Rashid got away with so many cheap overs. Those 6 or 7 overs make a lot of difference

Men versus boys, a thrashing of the highest order for India! Wow, just wow!

Congratulations to England! They played T20 cricket the way it is supposed to be played and won the Semi-Final fair and square. Congratulations to them also on playing T20 cricket.

Alex Hales and Jos Buttler put on an unbeaten stand of 170 to help England defeat India by 10 wickets in the second semi-final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in Adelaide on Thursday.

Alex Hales and Jos Buttler crush India

The England opening duo put on a stellar show in Adelaide as they went on the charge against the Indian bowlers right from the beginning of their innings. It was Hales, who smashed the Indian bowlers earlier in the innings as Buttler played the second fiddle. But the English skipper joined the party in the second half of the innings, as soon as England got a firm grip on the match.

Their partnership helped England in chasing down 169 with all 10 wickets and 24 balls to spare. Hales remained unbeaten on 86 from just 47 deliveries while Buttler scored 80* from 49 deliveries

Hardik Pandya's superb knock helps India get to a competitive total

Earlier, India had a difficult start to their innings as they lost the wicket of KL Rahul early. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma tried to build a partnership but some really tight bowling by the England bowlers didn't allow them to score at a swift rate.

Rohit departed for 27 from 28 deliveries in the ninth over of the innings, whereas Suryakumar Yadav also perished soon for 14. But Kohli and Pandya stuck around and took the game deep. Kohli got dismissed just after scoring his fifty in the 18th over. But Pandya carried on and went on an onslaught to take India to a competitive score of 168/6 in their 20 overs. Pandya's efforts helped India in adding 68 runs in the last five overs, 54 of which came from Pandya's bat.

What next?

England's massive win against India has helped them in setting up a T20 World Cup final clash against Pakistan. Both teams finished second from their respective groups in the Super 12s and their chances of securing a semi-final spot at one stage looked very unlikely. But both sides made a terrific comeback not only to reach the semis but also to go all the way to the finals. The two teams last met in a World Cup final in 1992, which Pakistan won. England will be looking to set the record straight now by lifting the trophy at the iconic MCG in Melbourne.

Fast bowler Mark Wood (hip) and key batter Dawid Malan (groin) were ruled out prior to the toss, with veteran seamer Chris Jordan and top-order batter Phil Salt named as their replacements.

The loss of Wood in particular was a blow to England, with the pacer already having picked up nine wickets at the T20 World Cup and regularly hit speeds in excess of 150 km/h.

His spot in the XI was taken by Jordan, who is a veteran of 82 T20Is and last featured for England during their series against Australia just prior to the start of the T20 World Cup.

Salt didn't play during that same series, with the 26-year-old's last match for England coming during their seven-game series in Pakistan at the start of October.

Buttler said prior to Thursday's match that he has confidence in all members of his talented squad.

"We've got some fantastic players who have not yet played in the tournament, and they're all desperate to make their mark if given a chance," Buttler said.

"I have full faith in every member of our squad, guys whether they've played so far or not."

India stuck with the same XI that defeated Zimbabwe by 73 runs in the final match of the Super 12 stage of the tournament, meaning left-hander Rishabh Pant was preferred to Dinesh Karthik.
