Australia getting embarrassed.

Warner needs to score a double for Aus to have any chance.

Australia are getting wrecked here

Clarke is badly out of form
Voges hasn't been impressive at all

And the squad isn't looking that great anymore

Marsh should come in for Voges
Watson for Clarke... even though that isn't likely and a captain quitting/dropped midway through the tour is quite embarrassing

It's Warner vs. England at present!

So pleased for the big fella Steve Finn after his long difficulties. We've needed a bull of a fast bowler sine Fred finished. Now we just need a spinner and another opener.

Joke of a drs that was clearly out.

But I'll take it

What is with ball tracking today. That one looked out to naked eye, same with Butler's wicket.

Finnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many times Australia managed to add 200-250 runs due to Haddin & lower order after losing five wickets in last Ashes?

Let's see what Warner & co will do today. I think they are not that bad like India to get bundled out twice in same match. (Still long way to match our performance in last 3 tests in England)

If the match ends today, it means England won in under 2 days?

Even India would have dragged this game to Day-3 or 4

It's not getting over today. Aus can easily pile on over 100 runs from here. They have a very good tail.

Warner is set to break Charles Bannermans record set in the first innings in test history

I still think if Aussies get lead over 120 anything is possible.

Out of curiosity, When was the last time Ashes test ended in two days if ever?

1890 - a decade before Australian federation.

Not impressed with Moeen's bowling today. Lyon bowled very good spell comparatively.

Moeen generally bowls alot better in the 2nd innings of his opponent but in this Test he wasn't required to bowl in the 1st so is going to be a bit rusty and out of rhythm that's a norm with him in recent times.

This has been such a spineless performance by Aussies, didn't expect them to crumble so cheaply, really played like school boys poked their bats to balls which shouldn't have been played which indicates indecisiveness in their thought processes. So disappointed, only hope is these last 4 can add somewhere around 180-200 lead which will make it an exciting contest but that's nearly impossible :(

Finn gets 5 fer. Finally justifying his talent I guess.

Starc have highest test score of 99. ( Against India)

5fer for Finn! Great spell!

Also, it's only possible for brummies to sing God Save The Queen while drunk.

He can bat surprisingly well for a specialist bowler, he has 4 50's and an average of 26!

Nevill looks technically good enough to survive in test cricket. (Played more than 100 bowls)

Maybe Aussies have someone better than him to replace Haddin.

Finn is a rhythm bowler but his career took a big hit when saker tried to change his action when he use to hit the stumps very often, then his pace dropped big time. Hopefully he can maintain these speeds, has averaged around 88mph in this Test. axl100mph would give you a better insight into what had happened but anyhow would be interested to get your thoughts on Finn's performance today bro if you watched him play

Nevill is the best option to replace Haddin.

Only 8 overs left now, looks like England will have to comeback tomorrow to finish the Aussies off. Tbh it gets dark around half 8ish in bham and with the amount of time that has been lost in this Test the umpires should allow the game to go on a bit longer. Could easily play until half 7 or quater to in good light.

Big Mac the ground is looking absolutely stunning from the hot air balloon camera angle! it's a beautiful day to; you wouldn't want to be at any ground other then Edgbaston in England

Pitch tampering or not, I would love to see more of these pitches. If you are truly good, you will get runs. Bowlers get to dominate for a change. Engrossing match.

Aus 168/7 (23 ahead) - england should wrap this match up tomorrow.

It's not over yet, but should be good for the win now.

Great batting by Bell, Root, Broad and Moeen on a difficult pitch, Jimmy had one of his good days, and Finn was inspired.

England completely deserve to win this game so I hope they do.

Butler drops one, absolutely useless behind the stumps

Yeah, I don't know why they didn't go for James Foster in tests, still the best keeper in England. Buttler is going to be excellent in all forms, but at present he's a LO specialist.

That ship has sailed a long time ago, if they want to go back there may as well recall Geraint Jones. I would have persisted with Steven Davies but poor guy is finished in the head now with the loss of his best mate, also gave up the gloves. All of this mess just emphasises the value of Matt Prior, won't be replaced so easily.

I think the pitch is great, really good to watch play - except for we keep getting out on it. Much better than the other two this series.

Still waiting for you to provide a single post to back up your nonsense btw.

Yep, it doesn't matter who is playing, there is nothing quite like the Eric Hollies stand anywhere in the country.

This pitch has been fantastic. Hopefully the next two are just like it.

It's been a really disappointing performance from Australia.

Just goes to show how average these 2 test teams are, but to almost get beat inside 2 days I'd embarrassment to say the least

It's over

I already clarified it in my previous posts but unfortunately they got deleted by mods, I hope you saw it :)

I did. There was zero clarification, just backtracking. Find one post. That's all that's needed.

They're not crap. They're just dumb as a box of rocks. You don't attack for the sake of attacking, instead they keep playing shots without engaging their brains first.

Anyone who is watching this test should remember this Australian batting display the next time Pakistan plays a test and 80% of posts in the match thread are along the lines of "We are batting too slow, what is this tuk tuk? We need to put the pressure on the bowlers and be aggressive"

Agreed pitch is great, any track where the skippers have to make a real decision when they win the toss is a good one.

Just hope england don't play it safe and produce two more dead tracks now that they are about to go ahead again in the series.

Oval will probably be a flattish track, I can't be sure about Trent Bridge next week though.

Anderson unlikely for rest of the series, very tough for Englanmd

Good job Finn re-emerged just in time.

I expect he will take the new ball with Broad for the rest of the series and Imaginary Horse will come back in as first change.

Applying the semi-random process of pitch preparation in England, expect anything from roads to greentops to fliers to a couple of bunsens.

A target of 100 might be tricky but England should win this limping, at worst.

Funny how things change, huh? A couple days ago, Starc was taunting England over their changes, now it might be time for Australia to do some shuffling.

85 runs is lowest total ever defend in a test match before by Aussies v england in 1882 at the oval so thats something for Australia to try and aim for ;)

I can see the Oz adding fifty runs this morning, and England getting there for three or four wickets down just after lunch.

England to scrape home by two wickets this afternoon

Finn to score the winning runs

Id expect a similar type surface trent bridge, apart from the flat lifeless wicket that was produced for last game played v india the surfaces have always given something for the bowlers and batsmen so we should seen a positive result one way or another in next test as well...

Lead is now 63, If nevill could some how get a hundred here then Aussies could have a lead of 130-40 which would atleast make game half interesting.

Nevill out down leg side snaffle... review been taken...

I've got the rest of the evening off, so hopefully Australia can stay out there a while longer and England take their time chasing.
