England are missing Anderson already, they could have him on right now instead of Root.

50 for Starc.

Another 50-60 runs, somehow, and it will get really interesting.

Even if they lose, what a fight from the tail.

Hazelwood gone to stokes...Lead is 100 with 1 wicket left

I expected this. The Aussie bowlers are putting their batsmen to shame.

Australia will win.

Warne's agenda is so clear, lol. Dislikes Ajmal so he doesn't like Ali.

England have eight batsmen and we just saw tail-enders batting comfortably. The home side are winning this, comfortably.

It will NOT be comfortable. It will be nerve-shredding.

Hmmm, Just 121 to win the 3rd test. These low scores can be challenging sometimes.

2hours before Lunch Could be Dicey?

England need 121 to win...

Predicition - england to win by 8 wickets

lmao Warne gave the perfect critique of Mo bowling in this Test Match and posters are claiming he doesn't like Ali? why? because he did't kiss his backside?

All Warne said was that Mo is a batsman first and a part-timer with the ball so it's unfair to expect him to take wickets on a flat deck because of his natural side-spin grip which is more effective on turning pitches. Lyon on the other-hand or a Swann ought to perform better on flat decks because they get more bounce, turn, dip and overspin etc as the seam is pointing towards 1st/2nd slip.

:)) You never know go it could be the 2012 UAE series all over again for England. They should do it though, the conditions are great on this beautiful day. All of Australian hopes are with Lyon, will be hoping he causes a bit of panic .

Rather have Jason Roy or Alex Hales open with Cook

I think Lyth's slip-catching is keeping him in the side at the moment. It's a long time since we had a cordon as good as Flintoff, Swann and Strauss.

Even then he has been selected mainly for his batting. England should have sorted this problem out long ago, Trott should never have been tested as an opener  that was absolutely stupid. I feel for Lyth as well in a way because before this he has only played against NZ and is now stuck in the most important series in an England Cricketers career. He looks like a 40 year old but is only 27 and perhaps England ought to invest more time in him; has been performing well for Yorkshire and displayed glimpses of his potential against NZ. Personally prefer Roy or Hales though.

As much as that would be funny to happen, england can save one of those type of collapses for the winter again when they tour UAE to play us. :)))

Concur that Lyth should have played all three tests in WI.

I would bring in Hales, though.

117 runs to win and go 2-1 up. If Australia win this game they deserve the Ashes trophy.

An hour of bell batting here should see england through he is being aggressive as usual.

19/1

Pretty straightforward chase. Did people really expect twists in a chase of 120 something on a day 3 deck?

His primary job is to score , if he cannot , he will be dropped , I think he should be played another series.

Bell's twin half-centuries have proved to be vital in the grand scheme of things, he has shown good mental resolve.

Well done england on clinical win and 2-1 series lead.

Congrats to england outplayed us in every department all test.

We can only hope this odd series continues it's unpredictable path at trent bridge but i think what many of us felt pre series is coming to pass and that is we simply don't have the batting to consistently win in these conditions.

TB is usually a swing ground and it's likely that the wicket will take seam too. Anderson is a dragon there but AUS won't have to face him.

England's recent record is WLWLWLW so it could be your turn again!

Yes but now the bowling is even Stevens. Aus don't have Harris. England don't have Jimmy. Should be a more equal playing ground.

Difference is they get to bowl at our lot, which top 7 would you rather have a go at in these conditions?
