Collingwood missed the most deserved century

Great innings from Collingwood, but nobody to support him I guess. He made a boo-boo by choosing to field on a flat pitch because of overheads, but every captain from Ponting to Dravid to Hussain has made that one and they recovered. Overall, Collingwood has 4 wins and 4 losses, which considering the inexperience of the side, the injuries and Pietersen's non-existent form, is a good win rate really. AND he has been batting well himself, which is a rare quality of an English LOI captain.

There is still two to play and I would bank on us winning at least one. Unless they have batted first on a flat pitch the Indians have looked pretty crap in this series, and even in the two games they won, we competed hard in the run chases.

Pieterson will surely come good in one of the games.

He looked good in the first ODI against India, but that was only because he was told to go out and have a laugh in the last few overs, and it worked. Really, he has bombed in every ODI this summer, often spectacularly so. He owes the team 80 off 60 balls or a run-a-ball hundred before the summer is up because really, 8 ODIs with no impact whatsoever is bordering on pathetic by his standards. The last games are at Lords and the Oval, and he always scores at these places, so the pressure is even more intense on him now. Considering that he has had a great summer in the test matches and had a good world cup, I dont know whats wrong with him.

Solid display by India. As i said earlier we put ourselves on the back foot by electing to bowl on a placid surface. Our batting didn't have firepower for the required run rate and in the end India's batsmen were too good for us.

Yeah let's just give Colly 140 runs right? They were 8 wickets down, who's to say they wouldn't have bowled out. Dont act as if their runrate was just around the corner. They were 2 runs per over less than the require.d
