Yeah - it would be a bit unfair to make him keep and open. Imam is a poor LOI opener though so i'd rather he didn't play.

Oh Imam makes opener for me any day of the week. Probably one our best ODI batsmen after Babar in the current line-up. It doesn't matter if Haris can't make it, Abdullah looks in good form as does Agha (don't like his fielding though) and not heard much about Saud in the intra games which doesn't make for good news.

Saud can bowl a few good overs. Haris is more or less out of the tour i feel with his injury news.

Nah, playing Imam would be taking a step backwards from modern day cricket.

I understand why people want Imam in the team, but every team needs an attacking player at the top. Rizwan isn’t attacking, and neither is Bavaria. Fakhar has the ability to take the game away from the opposition in 3-4 overs, it may not happen as often as we like but at least he’s going out there to score runs at a quick strike rate. I’d rather take a batsman that averages 40 with a strike of 90-100+ over a batsman who averages 50 with a strike rate of 70-80, because one is putting pressure on the opposition and the other is putting it back on his own team. With Fakhar playing over a run a ball, it makes it easier for the batsmen at the other end, with Imam, he’ll just consume too many dot balls and it’ll force the batsman at the other end to play a risky shot to get the scoreboard ticking.

Imam I feel is, and Rizwan should open where he will be of greatest use and where he will probably score the fastest and most runs. Seen the Imam-Fakhar partnership and it fails nearly every time, I don't think we should repeat that again. I think we're better off just building a platform and then going for it strategy.

Hales had enough chances, he did not improve his drinking, drug taking and overall behaviour when it mattered most. He claims to have changed now but England have moved on and moved ahead.

But it's a pretty decent squad and just goes to show how much depth they have ,Stokes as captain, Vince, Duckett, Mahmood, Overton...all guys who couldn't make it into the best LOI side on the planet now get a chance to shine and prove their worth.

yes at present both venues are taking part of government trials so as long as you are vaccined or have a negative PCR test should be a near enough full house at edgbaston and Lords

Thats a big lapse on the part of the ECB. Other teams have also been playing under strict protocols for sometime so I am pretty sure it was manageable by Eng players as well. Even if they wanted to give some relaxations they should have been as per certain guidelines. I am not sure if the Eng players were even vaccinated or not before they were allowed to go onto their adventures.

They have the hundred tournament coming up as well as a pretty long test series vs India. Not sure how everything will pan out here unless their are certain guidelines to adhere to.

Absolutely agree with this team. Fakhar going down the order, will help Pakistan the same way Yuvraj helped Indian team in 2000's decade. This is the top 5, Pakistan should carry till the world cup.

The only players of note that I see here are Stokes, Malan, Saqib Mahmood and Lewis Gregory.

Don't be too sure, this has some good names in it still like Zack Crawley, Ben Duckett, Phil Salt, Dawaid Malan so it's not exactly a full on B team. Some really good names in terms of batting i would say, but bowling wise it's next to nothing, wouldn't really rate Saqib. Bowling looks well depleted.

I think they should now test some of the players who haven't played for Pakistan yet.imaam was in my previews team but we should give Abdullah a chance against a weeker team.

If Pakistan players fill their boots with runs or wickets then it will be well deserved . It’s not their fault this has happened , they had signed up to play a relatively full strength squad.

Now for the one dayers at least it’s a weaker squad on paper , but I still won’t underestimate them .

If we win 3-0 it will be against England E, what’s the big deal about that , if we lose the series it will be “ how the hell did we lose ,Pakistan cricket is dead etc”.

We already have people making excuses if certain players perform well, saying the opposition is weak.

Let’s just get behind the boys and stop moaning . Enjoy the cricket .

Yes definitely Vince should have been in the squad.like you said thier bowling is very average at best.

Vince is in the squad bro, it's Hales i was saying who is harshly being excluded. England's lack of good bowling options will lose them this match easy.
