All I said was that YK is a class batsman and anyone who doubts his ability in Odi's only had to see this innings...Instead I get jumped upon by a crazy Afridi fan!

Was probably the best batting lineup we had...and Malik use to be very good back then

It was very weak. While we have become weaker in the batting line up, England have improved their bowling bigtime. No wonder we are struggling to pass 100.

im just curious, when was the last time hafeez scored over 20 runs? in any form of cricket for pakistan?:13:
 
Gnasher has settled the Irfan height debate: " Watching Mohammad Irfan warm-up...confirmation that he is very tall. Hope the sightscreens are big enough." Also "The final cover has been removed and just the rolled versions on the pitch now."

YK is a class test player and I want him in the test side ASAP. But I've serious doubts about him in limited overs. I just asked when that innings took place and what you did Kind Sir, you brought Afridi in pure on basis of my screen name. So you are bound to get a reply, Right? :afridi

Yep..Its a sad situation we find ourselves in...

Anyway, lets hope that a couple of the youngsters find their feet quickly and can put up a competitive score for our bowlers to defend!
 
AF, I think YK in the ODI team is going to be much better than Fawad, Hafeez, Shahzaib and the lot.
 
What happend in the end? Did we win the series?

Any idea when the game will start?

Cricinfo saying covers have been removed.
 
YK still good enough to be a part of the T20 side and do well, really well.

As a test batsman I rate him higher than Inzimam and MY.

But your logic is flawed...You only have to look back prior to the start of 2009 to see that YK has a place in the odi side..If anytying his record when batting at number 6 is even better!!

I think people are misguided when they compare Yk's stats with someone like Maliks'. Battingwise they are pretty similar in terms of stats, the difference being that one is a worldclass test batsman with the potential to score big.

From purely a batting perspective I know which one I would want in my ODI side...The same comparision can be made with any of the other players/batsmen that are in the present squad...

Are any of them apart from perhaps MOYO a better batsman then YK in ODIs? Hell are they any better then him in t20's too? Look at the T20 worldcup in 2009, who was the top scorer for Pakistan?

Thats your view and I respect that. But after his batting in Australia I think YK needs to really get his form back to be included in the side. No one can question his class. I've doubts about him as a LoI player and only he can remove them if allowed to make a come back. :ibutt

Inzimam definitely better in shorter formats, but not in tests.

Inzimam struggled against quality spin specially against Warne, never really did well in Australia and SA, never batted at 3.

YK did all of the above, whenever he got th chance.

Thats right but if memory serves me right then the ODI that got rained off, we had actually scored a big total in the first innings and were favorits until the rain descended!
 
Right, we have an update! Gnasher tells us it shall be a 12.30pm start and 41 overs a side.

You are again confused my friend. Afridi is an all-rounder. So leave him aside. 1st try to get YK back in the side and then we'll know how good he currently is. :ibutt
 
Just showed Irfan for the 1st time on Sky Sports and Gower says he's 7'1 that they've been told of his height!
 
They just showed Irfan on sky sports - oh my he's taller then he looks in the pictures - the pundits and commentators are speechles and Akhtar looks like a midget compare to Irfan - I wonder how well he will do in the field!

Bhai, I was watching a fantastic knock by YK in an ODI and ruing the fact that we are in a such a dissaray at the moment. Personally I dont buy into the argument that YK cannot play well in ODI's..

Lets leave it at that...

Eid Mubarak and lets hope for a pakistan victory today!!!

they showed him & gul & akhtar. akhtar was hiding behind his back. but Irfan did fumble the ball in the field, anyone saw that? =P

Was watching the replay of the 3rd ODI natwest game from 2006, noticed when Afridi and Razzaq came out to bat, they showed that both were 26 years old.
