Knowing them I think they will only make 2 forced changes. Hafeez for Imam and Imad for Saud.

The way things are going, England may win this one too.

Pakistan are playing in a very timid manner.

Eng will possibly have their regulars coming in as well if they get the negative Covid test.

Its not going to get easy for Pak.

With the current team mentally demoralized and down after the whitewash. I dont expect them to beat a full strength Eng side in the t20 format. The only thing in our favor is this is the shortest format, and the one we still can upset or pull a win or even series if we play collectively and select sensibly. With the available touring party, below is my lineup for the 1st T20, i think yes the bowling might look inexperience but the so called seniors have not looked in form anyways, so might as well bring in some new faces.

1. Sherjeel 2. Rizwan 3. Babar 4. Hafeez 5. Maqsood 6. Imad 7. Shadab 8. Arshad 9. M Wasim Jr. 10. Hasnain 11. Qadir

Good thing that T20 is such a volatile format otherwise there could have been a real possibility of a 6-0 whitewash.

Really pleased to see Hafeez there , we really missed a ‘champion’ batsman in the ODI series … it would be great to see Babar and his predecessor as Pakistan’s premier batsman batting together again.

It’s an experience like watching Viv and Lara batting together , or Sachin and Kohli.

In bacchon ko waapis bula lo yaar, this will be a bloodbath :)))

England just announced their T20 Squad..so 3 0 in one days ..3 0 in 2020s coming up...straight to windies they just hammering Aussies so 5 0 defeat coming there and mark my words we wont win the Tests either....

England would have to be disappointed if they can't sweep this series 3-0, but I think Pakistan may win 1 game if they get a slower pitch like they did in the NZ series at Napier.

It might be a good thing for Pakistan because England players have just recovered from COVID and came out of isolation and don't have much match practice.

Finally, there are some good names in England's squad.

If Pakistan wins the first game, we will win the series in my opinion.

Mohammad Rizwan
Babar Azam (c)
Sohaib Maqsood
Mohammad Hafeez
Fakhar Zaman
Sarfaraz Ahmed (wk)
Imad Wasim
Shadab Khan
Hasan Ali
Shaheen Shah Afridi
Haris Rauf

That's our best outfit in my mind. Will be an entertaining series for sure.

England will win 3-0. Bairstow will fill his boots, can see our 3 seamers all going for 10 a over economy rates minimum. Rauf maybe worse.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pakistan wins against England in the T20 series. Rizwan looked good and Babar, as usual, looked outstanding.

Our bowlers are T20 style bowlers either way, so this should suit them.

Mohammad Wasim Jr. is undercooked, hasn't bowled enough and hasn't batted enough.

Either Haris plays or Arshad replaces him.

Don’t think they’ll play Imad Wasim, Usman Qadir and Sharjeel Khan, in fact, I don’t think they’ll change the xi from the first T20.

We won’t get to see Mo Wasim, Mo Hasnain, Azam Khan and Arshad Iqbal.

My xi for the T20

Sharjeel Khan
Fakhar Zaman
Sohaib Maqsood
Mohammad Hafeez

We need to go all guns blazing and set the tone. Need to win this series after the way the odi’s ended.

On a side note they are staying in Derby and just ordered a takeaway from my friends place couple hours ago - he was happy as it was a big order too

Nothing wrong with a bit of chicken pakora with some kebab sauce ahead of a T20 series.

Sharjeel Khan
Babar Azam
Mohammad Hafeez
Mohammad Rizwan
Sohaib Maqsood

Harris Rauf

Sharjeel will fail in England, he doesn't have the game.

It is beyond me that how Rauf still gets a spot in most teams proposed by even PPers here.

Has anybody received theirs?

England will win it. England will most likely out bat them in the series.

Shadab Khan speaking at presser:

“I know I haven’t been able to perform well in the recent past but I think I was in better rhythm in the last two matches and the Abu Dhabi-leg of PSL as well. It is not easy to make comeback after injury but I’m trying to do well for my side as the senior player and captain"

“You might not have seen how much effort I put into my bowling and batting. If I unable to perform well as a bowler, that does not mean that my focus has shifted towards batting. My focus has always been on my bowling, while I have always said that batting is my plus point. There is ups and downs in international cricket and hopefully I won’t repeat the mistakes I had made in the past"

“Faheem has done well for us, especially in Test cricket. Your criticism is justified but we should not judge a player on his performance in two or three matches. We will take this criticism in a positive manner and try to put up a good show for our country in the upcoming matches"

Pakistan team will be looking to make a fresh start on the England tour when they take on the hosts in the first of the three-match T20I on Friday, 16 July at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

Both sides have played five T20I series before the upcoming series, where England and Pakistan have won two series each.

The two teams drew the three-match series played last year in England 1-1 with one match abandoned.

Overall out of the 18 T20Is played between the two sides, Pakistan have won five games, England have won 12 matches while one match was abandoned due to rain.

The tourists will pin their hopes on experienced Mohammad Hafeez to score runs as the all-rounder has featured in 12 matches against England scoring 289 runs at 28.90 which included two half-centuries with best of 86 not out and a strike-rate of 127.31.

Captain Babar Azam, who is ranked number two in the ICC T20I Batsmen Rankings will be looking to repeat the heroics of third ODI at Edgbaston where he scored a scintillating 158 off 139.

Amongst bowlers, Imad Wasim has picked six wickets from five matches against England, the left-arm spinner’s best figures are two for 17.

While talking to the media in a virtual media conference, leg-spinner Shadab Khan expressed the team’s desire of making a strong comeback after losing ODI 3-0: “T20 is a different format and we have a different team. Our senior players like Hafeez and Imad Wasim have returned to the side.

“Mostly players in the team have recently featured in the HBL PSL. So we have played a good amount of T20 cricket and hopefully you will see a good series.”

Asked about his individual performance, Shadab said, “I am making a comeback after injury. My recent performance was not good, but I feel I am in good rhythm lately and looking forward to contributing for the team in batting and bowling departments.”

Pakistan is currently on fourth spot in the ICC rankings with 261 points while England are at the top with 278 points.

How to dismiss Roy, Butler , Bairstow and Morgan cheaply ? Is that possible to dismiss them cheaply and then chase whatever target they put ?

If we bat first we need at least 220 to put pressure England batting. We should restrict England under 160 because we cannot chase anything over that.

It is beyond me that how Rauf still gets a spot in most teams proposed by even PPers here.

I agree husnain is much better.Rauf is good at bowling yorkers.i also would be tempted to give arshad ago

Pakistan beating England premier side after getting Whitewashed by the C side would be nothing short of a miracle. How it will be happen ? I don't know , but it would take some massive effort.

Eoin Morgan says England are likely to rotate their side during the IT20 series against Pakistan with players given a "last chance" to impress before the T20 World Cup this autumn.

A revamped England side dominated the one-day international series after the initial squad was forced into self-isolation due to a coronavirus outbreak and while the majority of the first-choice group are back for the T20s, stars of the 50-over triumph - Saqib Mahmood, Lewis Gregory and Matt Parkinson - are also included in the squad.

With the T20 World Cup now just three months away, this series represents one of the last opportunities for Morgan to assess his options ahead of the tournament, and it's one he intends to take.

When asked if there would be more rotation among England's squad of 16 for the three-match series, Morgan said; "There are very few opportunities
, and not knowing what is ahead of ourselves, we need to look a little bit more at our strength in depth.

"You'll see opportunities for the guys in the squad over the course of the next three games - going through various different options for possible injury replacements for certain players.

"That's the priority throughout the series, treating it as our last chance to look at guys in various different positions."

One area that England are keen to improve is their death bowling which could provide Mahmood, in particular, with a chance to shine after his player of the series performance in the ODIs.

"I think everybody is going to get an opportunity to bowl at the death," Morgan said.

"Everybody will have a chance. Saqib is coming off a pretty big high of bowling well in the one-day series, but obviously T20 is a different game.

"Certainly in the first couple of games they probably weren't exposed in the death bowling side of things because they bowled so well (at the start), so it's an opportunity in these three games to look at guys under pressure."

While Morgan insists he was not surprised by what he saw from any of the players drafted in at late notice for the ODIs, when asked about Mahmood and Gregory, he noted the improvement in their games in the time since they last featured for England and also highlighted the contribution of James Vince after his century in the third ODI.

"They've done themselves the world of good, to be honest," he added. "The one thing you look at when guys come in and out of a side, particularly when they don't have the opportunity to play a lot, is a marked improvement from the time they got the opportunity to the next time an opportunity might arise.

"The two guys you mentioned, in particular, and James Vince, were outstanding throughout the one-day series.

"When you look at a guy like James Vince, coming into the prime of his career at 30 years old, he knows his game inside out, he's very mature and the innings that he played at Edgbaston really does show the strength and depth within our side.

"Sitting back and watching the way the guys played alone - without the results that they achieved - was hugely satisfying. They played an exciting brand of cricket, they looked like they really enjoyed themselves and the results came with that. All round, it was hugely beneficial to everyone."

My biggest fear is that Faheem may play in all three matches.Pakistan has plenty of options eg anyone of Imad,Qadir,Hasnain.Wasim jnr,Arshad can easily replace him but knowing Misbah,he will go for Faheem.

How about:
Rizwan
Sharjeel (since he is in the squad and there aren't other options other than the also overweight Azam)
Babar Azam
Fakhar
Sohaib Maqsood
Hafeez
Shadab
Imad Wasim
Hasan Ali
Shaheen Afridi
Dahani (Not sure if he made it there, otherwise Hasnain)

I'd swap Sohaib and Hafeez batting places, and ask Imad to come ahead of Shadab.

Some good news

Eoin Morgan targets 'last chance' to test bench-strength before T20 World Cup

Rotation in prospect as England seek to fine-tune squad options before ICC deadline

England are prepared to give opportunities to fringe players and tweak their usual plans in this week's T20I series against Pakistan, which Eoin Morgan has said they are treating as their "last chance" to look at options ahead of October's T20 World Cup.

https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/...z3ezQzo3OHGkpV3GcmVRPiI91oOJPMfx58MVXtyK5OnWA

Some fringe players will be tested against Pakistan in the T20 series so that will provide some opportunity for Pakistan to score a win or two.

Not sure who to play at no 11, Hasan Ali (again) or Rauf.

Faheem is actually ok in the t20 format as despite being toothless he can keep it tight at one end.

I think we've seen enough of him though and would like Arshad or Wasim jnr to be given a shot in his spot. It doesn't weaken the batting to replace him with a bowler.

I am a big fan of Sharjeel but I feel his reflexes have slowed down making it difficult for him. He should have played another season before being selected.

Among young players, most disappointed by Haider Ali decline so quickly. It should strengthen this view that we should not throw a young player with one good PSL season into international cricket.

Don't agree with the squad selection but would pick this team which misbah would never dare to pick

Sharjeel
Babar
Sohaib Maqsood

Any1 will do better than faheem plz replace him Misbah.
70+ LOI games is big enough sample size to understand he's not good

I like it ...not impressed at all with Hasnain.
I'd swap Sohaib and Hafeez batting places, and ask Imad to come ahead of Shadab.

Yes, Im not that impressed with Hasnain either, but Rauf is also completely brainless.
Those position swaps you suggested are reasonable.

Hasan Ali has been rested for the first of the three T20Is against England as a precautionary measure due to a strain in his left leg, which he picked during a training session at Trent Bridge on Thursday.

The fast bowler will now be assessed ahead of the second T20I, following which decision on his participation will be made.

That's a loss for Pakistan, Hassan's Batting would have been great in the T20s.

England limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan admitted that all-rounder Ben Stokes is still not 100% recovered from his finger injury, which he sustained during the first half of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021), playing for Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Stokes recently captained England to a 3-0 ODI series win over Pakistan, leading a squad of 9 uncapped players when it was announced. This was due to three England players and 4 staff members tested positive after the Sri Lanka white-ball series and all of the first-choice England team including captain Morgan had to go into isolation.

However, after the isolation period, all of the first-choice England squad players have tested negative and ECB named a strong squad for the upcoming three-T20I match series against Pakistan. However, the name of Ben Stokes was missing from that squad and Eoin Morgan explained that his finger injury has still not 100% healed and they want him fit for the India Test series.

“We gave him every chance to be fit. He hasn’t played a lot of cricket and he’s had some R and R at home and feels quite fresh. But the finger hasn’t come along as he and the medical team would have liked. So it is important it is as good as it can be for the Test matches against India,” Morgan was quoted by standard.co.uk.

Stokes made just 54 runs in two ODIs and bowled five overs as the likes of Saqib Mahmood, Lewis Gregory, James Vince, and Phil Salt took center stage. But Morgan was very impressed with his captaincy.

“I didn’t speak to Ben a lot. I spoke to him pre-series. He dug us out of a huge hole coming back early from his injury and I think leading the way he did is a huge compliment to the leader he is within our side, how mature he has been as a leader and now a captain.

You could see in every game the opportunities he gave guys at different stages to learn more about them as players and looking at the bigger picture down the line, as opposed to throwing himself in at every opportunity. So I sort of sat back. I spoke to the coach a lot about different ideas, more long-term. It went really, really well, it was a great exercise,” Morgan said of Stokes’ captaincy.

The T20I series between England and Pakistan will begin on July 16 with the first match to be played at Nottingham.

Should look to open the bowling with legspin like we did in the wc19 against them. Worked on Roy.

Pak may as well pack in tha ttop order and have both Sharjeel and Fakhar bat, while Babar, Rizwan, Hafeez and Maqsood come later...although I don't know why Hafeez would be selected after a poor run of form at his age.
