What's new

England v Pakistan | 2nd Test | Manchester | Jul 23-26, 2016 | Day 3

We should have waited more, before labelling his once in a generation bowler.

When he can be labelled potential ATG, then why can't his fans face the harsh truth that he MAY NOT be as good AS THEY ORIGINALLY CLAIMED.

IF he wasn't hyped up by his followers as potential ATG, then no one would say anything.

Everyone knows Rahat is ordinary but no one is pointing fingers at him, because we all know his limitations.

He still has potential. Just because he has an ordinary series back after 6 years, doesn't mean one should give up hope on him.

Dont get this from Misbah. We need to control damage too so why no third man??

Never understood the purpose of the gap in slips when you will not use a 3rd man to cover

Quick question: has anyone seen aamir applaud his team mates when the put in diving stops to save runs when he bowls poorly

No, because they drop enough chances off of his bowling, so it's ok if he isn't the most appreciative.

Younis Khan the 4th innings specialist to score a spectacular 300.

You heard it here first.

The series is not over , right? He can still perform in the next two matches and reclaim that he is once in a generation bowler. He is still bowling some very good deliveries but he is not consistent at the moment. He needs to be frequent with those deliveries.

If this freaking somehow happens !! For me YK would go down as the best test batsmen to ever grace the game.

The feat is almost as impossible as a Pakistani win here.

Younis has been working hard in the nets, I'm certain he'll score big in the second innings.
Can't see it happening but then with younis you never know. First and foremost he has to do away with this bizarre technique he has developed from UAE phattas to defend England pacers. Yasir Shah looks to hv a better technique than him against pacers.

Might explain why he is not liked despite all the pronouncements of harmony. If the fans here can be bottomline delusional about his prowess this tour, one can only imagine the player himself might be thinking

Best cricketer to ever set foot on a cricket field*

Yasir bowling so damn full.... He can never be a good Limited Overs bowler

Typical Yasir. Clueless when the batsmen are attacking him. Rubbish ODI bowler

Its an insult to compare to root to compare him with umar
Blah blah. Players like Root are born every year but players like Umar Akmal born in centuries. It's sad that he was born in Pakistan if he was in any other cricketing country he would be compared with the likes of De Villiers.

Oh bhai get over it. Root is a master batsman, Umar is a good slogger that's it.

Root is a better Test batsman than de Villiers too, and will be remembered as a better overall batsman if he wins an ICC trophy for England which he can in the Champions Trophy next year or the World Cup in 2019, since both are in England.

:)))

Just when you think it couldn't get funnier.

It's the other way around.

Har Galli mein Umar Akmal jaiza fazool tullay baaz hota hy.

Batsmen like Root are rare.

Lol get over it. Your hero Akmal is a nothing special player. He isn't even fit enough to wear the same shoe brand as Root. If he was born in any other country, he would have got a run in the team for 7 years.

They're not mutually exclusive. His catches were dropped, and his performance wasn't the best, but that doesn't take away from the fact that the Pakistani fielding was subpar. Also, what the indian poster mentioned above.

Anyway, i don't know for sure if he did or did not applaud the efforts. He might have.
