And some were saying that Imad doesn't turn the ball :facepalm: He's no Murali but he turns it enough when he actually flights the damn thing. Modern LOI cricket needs darts and that's why he sticks to them.

They were just showing how the gripping makes the difference among the ones that spin for him.
 
The last two batsmen have been lefties (Morgan and Stokes). That's why Malik is bowling instead of Nawaz. Azhar's afraid that Nawaz might get tonked over cow corner by Stokes. However it's clear that Malik is not working so why not bring in Nawaz and take that chance?
 
Stokes seems more comfortable facing pace and that is how he will get set and gain confidence.

Yeah that too. he's quite a clever bowler in these shorter formats and i think Pakistan should play him in UAE tests as well.
 
Relly poor bowling, they see the batsmen charge them and have not the presense of mind to drag it down or wide.
 
Excellent shot from Stokes. It's good to see him not throwing his wicket away when the going gets tough like he usually does.

The problem is the ones with variations usually don't do well in tests but if he can have the patience he will do well as he can turn.

Perhaps but if Imad can bat decently on those wickets, i'd be tempted to play him at 7 and use him as a 3rd spinner. If his batting on flat decks is better than Hafeez's that would be quite straightforward choice IMO.
 
Amir is a smart guy. When things are not going his way he can get wickets by out thinking the bats. Just needs to get his rhythm back and fix his wrist position.

Some 5 months back I expected that we could topple over England over the rankings, and I am sure a lot of folks would have felt the same. We beat them in WC then followed by 4 successful ODI series.

But boy, these English look really good. I don't know how different the results would be if WI or BD played

That is a straightforward choice even now only thing is Hafeez comes good in UAE most often.
 
Only 1 hundred still against us so far this series! There have been a few 80's and 90's

That can be true if he bowls full quota of Nawaz. He has bowled 6 overs with Mian (don't know why), so probably he'll under bowl Gul & Nawaz.

I have seen many associate matches in 25 years against us, ourself being one as well - but I have never seen someone as clueless as this. This is a dead rubber with three of English top order gone by 90 & this guy has allowed them to walk past at 6+. Imagine the 1st ODI against BD or NZ - he has learned absolutely nothing in 17 months.

I guess he gave no opportunity to stokes for quite a long time but its your very own nawaz who did the job.

It's drive in front of batsman. If you plot the path of drives ideally, it should create a v shape between Cover to mid wicket with batsman being the tip of the angle.
 
Brilliant over by Aamir. But shouldn't he be saved for the death now. Cant let spinners bowl at the death.

Would like to see Dukes used as the international white ball. Can't stand these non-swinging Kookaburras. That's another idea to redress the bat-ball imbalance in LOIs.

Gul was bowling rubbish as well can't blame Azhar for that. Should have had a slip in for imad when he was bowling Roy that was massive blunder
 
Hasan has a tendency of being expensive.. should work on that. A good bowler wipes the floor with Wahab and Gul
