What's new

England v Sri Lanka | 1st Test | Galle | Mar 26-30, 2012

Bell playing like Jayawardene.

Everyone else playing like Chris Martin.

This is terrible by England.

Woken up early (2 40 AM) to get some work done off coffee and I'm wishing I was asleep again.

:))) seriously i knew england were pretty bad away from home but this is shameful!

No better then India, HTBs!

England getting mullered. Will they make 200?

england misery continues of playing spinners on back foot on sub continent tracks :)

learn from your mistakes dude

no sweep no back foot

Wow this is disappointing. England's batting looks even worse than it did in the UAE. And they're not even facing ajmal, some utter disgraceful dismissals out there.

Right. You know what, bun this.

Bairstow, Butler, Hales, Morgan, Bopara, Kieswetter in. We'll probably score more runs trying to whack every ball then doing what we're doing now.

Patel doing a great impersonation of a Mafia victim with concrete shoes. England folding bad

Eng 94/6

This england team seriously sucks against even half decent spinners in asian conditions!

Shameful stuff.

It's not even the spin thats the worrying factor.

It's the fact that Trott, Cook and KP got out to the most unfashionable methods for them ever.

I bet england cant wait to play back at home again where they wont get exposed as much!

I wonder what excuses flower/strauss will make after this farce? :)

Lol england is getting exposed in asia. Ha ha. I guess england are new no.1 home track bully :D

Obviously, they are still suffering from their time in the UAE. Mentally.

Wow, Broad's batting well. Just shows how easy this pitch is to bat on.

Looks like broad is going to counter attack here, should be fun if hes in for half a session!

If we can get within 100 we are still in it.

Bet you a tenner we don't.

Broad trying to counterattack (I see from the posts above), but still...

:))) @ the score, just woke up and checked it out right now! (this has nothing to do with the fact that I predicted SL will have the edge, regardless of England's recent form in ODIs, ahem).

Woeful, Tests are a different ball game. :murali

Edit-Oh, might just tune into this Broad carnage. Screw studies for 10 minutes eh?

Well, the last time I remember England doing well outside their home was in Australia last ashes.
And their fans have cleverly used that in their defence.

Now, after this series gets over, I am sure people will agree that no team at this moment is as strong as the Aussies of the Mcgrath-Warne era. And no team at this moment shall be able to dominate other teams like the Aussies did during that period.

I guess it'll end up with the comparisions being drawn over which team does the best at their homes.

Aag or no aag, Broad's 50 something run carnage against us wasn't fruitful in the end :sachin

Could be the same deal here. :murali

England are numpties against spin , what are you going to do in india when they post 600 every time and get you out for 200

Nothing difficult about that. Bat nowhere near ball. Useless review by the man who never thinks he's out.

Broad is a tool, he will always refer. He hit the ground but not the ball.

are these the mental scars against the spin (against pakistan) which have shaken England's confidence or England usually this bad against spin?

You were all over him last series.

Cmon. His status as a 'how could the son of BC Broad ever be given out LBW' batsman has always been clear.

But a brilliant player no doubt.

90% of the test matches in India since 2009 , India have been bowling first and still have won most of them , get those typical assumptions out of your mind.
Except Pak and India none of the other teams have done well bowling first in Asia(even SA).

Yes. And Bhajji will suddenly become :murali against England.

BTW, your Signature makes me hate Sehwag more and more.

no more bhajji :pissed:

sehwag is quite a honest guy , but sometime its funny when he conveys something in english :D

Bun this, we need more imports.

Sack the Saffers, bring in more Indians.

:))) @ greek, bahaha.

Swan doing well here, will have to catch the highlights of today's proceedings for sure though, ain't the same reading the scorecard (duh).

Tests are so much fun :D

Fatel and Bopara are descendants, I don't suppose it works too well.

We should create dustbowls in CC and see if our lot learn.

Or if Keedy, Kerrigan and Borthwick run through every side as the often do on turners...
