Game looks like a draw, unless England wrap them up quickly tomorrow, and post quick runs, and bowl them out on the final day, but it doesn't look like happening.
Harmison should definitley. be dropped when Flintoff returns.... he is the most overrated bowler England have ever had. Any tall fast bowler would perform on pitches that offer awkward bounce. On any other track he is useless.
Mixed day. If we start well tomorrow and somehow manage a lead of 100+ on first innings we still have a chance of winning, but with Hoggard's injury the bowling attack has turned from the 'barely acceptable' category into the 'utter crap' category. Panesar is a little gem but he cant bowl out 20 West Indies players on his own.
Harmison was an absolute joke today. Yet again. And the worst thing is that deep down we all knew it was going to be the case.
Some resilience shown by the Windies but the English are still on top. They'll probably get a lead of 150 odd, score 225 quickly, and set them 375 to win. That way they can bowl for about a half hr at the end of day 4. Monty will have the whole of day 5 to bowl out an inexperienced batting lineup. Windies have to play well for 2 more days to escape with a draw.
Amazing shot from Powell. A low full toss which he gave himself some room for and it whistled to the cover boundary. Proper Caribbean flick of the wrists. Now he has just followed it up with a perfect cover drive which was a photographers dream.
"Steve Harmison in today's newspapers: "I was reasonably happy with my bowling yesterday". Perhaps that highlights more than anything why he should be dropped."
Tea day 4 - England 553/5d & 105/2 v West Indies 437
England lead by 221 runs with a session and half left today. I guess england will be looking at 350-400 and then maybe having 80-90 overs at west indies to try and win the game.
Errrr where's the declaration? What is the point in this? If we could nip out a West Indian before the close it would give everyone a big lift and round off a great day for the team.
