Unavaibility of Stokes has made the job easier for India, he was the difference in last 2 matches... In first 2 matches he was not quite there, so just when he was making the crucial balance to his team, he is out, and that's big blow for England... He may not be missed as a captain, but as player (mainly bowling) for sure...
India might also miss Pant, but somehow they have to make up for it... India's batting will be bit thin, if they opt for the team which is circulating at the moment (Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (c), Dhruv Jurel (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj). The specialist batsman ends at No.4 literally, after that there is no Pant either, Jurel is a substitute and doesn't have much experience... Jadeja & Sundar are good enough (at current form) but still they are alrounders...
It is going to be a gutsy move, but they should hope that the bowlers do the job in picking up wickets... One thing is sure we will see a result with this team (either win or loss, and not draw). Only satisfactory thing is even England will be a depleted side, especially missing Stokes... So India too have a chance if England are playing this team (Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope (capt), Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jacob Bethell, Jamie Smith (wk), Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Jamie Overton, Josh Tongue) That's a lot of changes...
Kuldeep (if playing) is the key (and we should hope that his best comes out this time... He is either completely ON or completely OFF)
