out taken at long on. Good catch by Eoin Morgan as Nixon goes slogging.

Where did he claim it? As soon as he got up he shrugged his shoulders as to say, "i'm not sure" and returned the ball to the bowler.

How could he not be sure? It practically rolled along the ground before he picked it up.

6 over long on. Great shot. He got under it and it went a mile up. Just clearing the man

255/6 off 49.

But he didnt claim it!!!

great hitting by Collingwood...great performance to get up to 266. Now i am looking forward to see Anderson outclass these Irish batsmen.

Great save by Bell. Many players would have given up that ball for 4
IRL 40-2 after 10

I must say apart from that drop catch by Joyce (i reckon he's being kind to Ireland ;-)) our fielding has been very impressive. We've at least saved 10 runs so far through diving stops.

Yea, even Monty saved a 4.

Ireland 59/2 - 48 run partnership

Ireland batsmen running down the wkt to mahmood!

Possible run out chance, but dive saves batsmen!

Runs dried up and a wicket comes.

Porterfield goes for 31 and Ireland are 72/3

Ireland has a good chance. They have momentum ... they're playing against a team they would *LOVE* to beat ... the required runrate (6.25) is fairly manageable, and the English bowling has yet to impress.

All told ... Ireland is in a good position to spring a surprise, even though they've lost three wickets.

Should England lose today, they may as well pack their bags. There is no room for an upset in the Super-8, specially if you started off without the 2 points.

Apparantly our fielding is pedestrian according to Daryll Cullinen. He's obviously not been watching the first 15 overs.

and more good fielding by Vaughan. My point proved.

Their best batsman is out in the middle at this time. He needs to make a big score if Ireland are even to come close today.

If Ireland win this, be sure that they'll go all the way. Just like how Greece did in football during Euro 2004.

50 for Niall O'Brian. Good innings for his team yet again. He'll need to be there well into the 40th overs for his team to have a chance.

Ireland have made Eng look like an ordinary side. Perhpas we were too quick to devour our own boys?

Come on, guys. They need to pick up the tempo here. The runrate is creeping up.

They have to start charging against Panesar, Vaughan, Collingwood.

110/3 in 28 overs. 157 to win in 22 at 7.1 rpo

With wickets in hand, they can get to 80 in the last 10 overs. This means scoring 77 in the next 12 (6.5 an over). To do this, they need to convert the one's into two's, and the two's into three's. And of course, a boundary every now and then!

No need to panic yet ... but from this position, they cannot go down without a fight.

Bloody hell, i went to get a drink and i see Botha walking off. What happened?

Monty got him - caught by Afreddy

Ireland 118/4 after 31.3 overs..

149 needed of 19.3 overs...

Appeal for Lbw.

Rameez comments - "typical Monty Bhangra" with that appeal

:))) :)))

Something has got to crack now. Either our bowlers will be attacked or Irish batmen will be heading back to the pavillion.

out lbw next ball. Kevin O'Brian trapped infront of middle and Taufel gives it. 5 down now.

out stumped. That is superb bowling by Vaughan. He saw him coming and flighted it. Did him like a kipper.

The other O'Brian goes after a good innings. Ireland 6 down.

1 decent game in 2 weeks of WC cricket - SL v SA.

Another borefest served up.

Saj "The Spraygun" Mahmood not failing to live up to his nickname.

Ireland have no real chance even though they seem to be putting up a bit of a late fight. It's all in a losing cause.

Ireland 194/6 after 44.2 overs...

game on maybe for a short while..

England turning into suicide mode. We just can't bowl well at the end.

197/6

Aamir Sohail to Botham...

"Well Beefy - you dont sound happy...."

Preddie Plintoff gets Johnston.

Game Over you sense.

Trent goes trying to hit Flintoff out of the park. Well done Freddie. Super bowling with the yorker.

:))) was like poking a mean dog with a sharp stick!

Is Flintoff under the influence - or is he in a 'Willis-like-trance'? No emotion throughout this game.

Probably only just sobered up to realise where he is.
