Why do i get the feeling that Imam reads the threads here on PP. He has been much better regarding the SR after the 1st ODI.

Was a good delivery but should have been forward to it. I think he misread the pitch slightly, thought it would be gun barrel straight so was sitting back.
 
Asif is more than capable in these conditions. Just needs to give himself time and he has the ability to be destructive.
 
The 100 in SA could be criticised but a hundred today by Imam is going to be right up there with the best.
 
Its safe to say that Pak batsmen are much, much better placed for the world cup in 2019 as compared to the torrid campaign of 2015

Which is why it was unjust not to try him out in SA.

The wickets are too slow and the boundaries are too big in UAE to get the most out of him.
 
We should be able to get to 350.. anything less will be a disappointment
 
If Asif Ali can get to 50 here, or manage another one in the series for me he's done enough to secure a spot in the WC.

Definitely. Striking at 100 throughout the innings and setting the table for the big score needed to compete. The key now is some acceleration once he reaches 100.

Oof those times were like torture as a Pak fan. Not only that but look at how much we have improved against England in England compared to the last time we played them in 2016. We couldn’t even muster up 250 run scores, and now we’ve already scored 350.

I agree being the one of the most complete batsman we have and the talent he possess, he should be winning us matches.

The one big thing with Pak Batsman apart from Fakhar is they get out right after scoring a hundred. This has been a fantastic hundred by Imam now time to try and make it 150+
 
You gotta give it to Imam's temperament . . the amount of criticism and flack that he gets is crazy . . well played indeed!
Can't get out now though . . he gets out usually after he gets his 100 . .
If he gets out we may not even play the 50 overs . .
 
Great batting by Imam!! Congratulation. We could easily score around 350 if other players play with passion like Imam.
 
Great knock from Imam, was vital for him to bat long with wickets falling at the other end.

Take a Bow Imam, great innings... I can safely say After Anwar Sohail he is the best opener we have now. I won't be surprised if he becomes the ATG opener played for pakistan...:salute

I believe he didn’t tour due to his daughters health . Nevertheless he’s in the right place at the right time now .

I like the way he is building his innings today and he never seems rushed or in a frenzy .
Hopefully he can make it count .
 
Very decent and modest celebration from Imam. Good to see that he is working on every aspect of his game as well as mental aspect.
 
Open the bowling with Hassan Ali and we can get a wicket in the PP. And then there’s no yasir so good news.
 
This is where I want to see Imam show improvement from the SA series. 209-4 turning into 211-5 is going to tilt the balance right back into England's hands. Needs to keep going till the end

With 15 overs remaining if Imam can unleash some attacking shots, he can target 200 here.

211-5 is better than 79-5.
 
Asif Ali has had plenty of time to get his eye in. Needs to kick on
 
23 year old with already 6 centuries in 27 matches, a good future ahead if he isnt targeted for being Inzi's nephew.

Change Imam's name to a Saud Shakeel, Saad Ali, Saif Badar etc and you wouldn't hear any critic.
 
Batting looking pretty decent for the WC, bowling needs to improve fast
 
This is the type of track AB would aim for a 45 ball ton. Asif needs to show why he should replace an original selection from the 15 on this track!

I would switch Harry with Hafeez at times... Malik I dont see how we can put him in 11. But knowing our management we will play both.. pathetic

Agreed but this is by far his best innings and should put to rest any nepotism talks.

Scoring a ton in England is a great accomplishment; and that too with the full time batsmen getting out very early and never having a big partnership to really be comfortable with.

If he can take us to 300+ then it's an incredible feat.
 
Imam is mentally one of the toughest players I've ever seen come out of Pakistan.

He can lash out at times unnecessarily and he will curb that with time but his abiliy to put his head down and reset before every innings is truly incredible.

Those people make no sense, he’s made us a modern day team and gotten ridden of that 90’s mindset of our cricketers, along with taking fitness levels to new highs. The only thing and I don’t blame Mickey for it more Azhar Mahmood is our bowling. Under Waqar the only plus was it seemed like no matter who was brought up into the side would perform. Just look at our bowing lime-up for CWC 15 for crying out loud :))
