What's new

England vs Pakistan | 3rd T20I | Manchester | Sep 1, 2020 | Pakistan innings

We need to induct batsmen with a bare minimum SR of 130+. 120 SR type batsmen are only good for slow UAE surfaces.

You can only induct what you have in store. These people batting out there are unfortunately the best in Pakistan right now. And you just don't want 130 SR who play 5 balls. You need a 150 SR player who can consistently play 30 balls in a match. We've seen the likes of Asif Ali who hits a 6 and then gets out 3 balls later for a SR of 130.

This young guy Haider is a fearless batsmen.
I like his daring and dashing approach like Sehwag.

Haven't seen our bowlers utilise these slower ball variations and cutters used by England's bowlers. They always seem to work on our batsmen. Our bowlers just bowl full pace length balls for Bairstow to whack over the off side.

Again that comes down to analysis and doing your homework.

An alien concept in Pakistan cricket. They probably think they're too macho to cut down on pace and bowl slower balls.

Haider needs to continue to idolize Indian batsmen and learn from them. Just watch lots and lots of videos of Rohit and Kohli and stay away from what Misbah and other Pakistani batsmen tell you.

Have to give it to Hafeez that his fitness is exceptional

Since the beginning babar wasn’t getting his timing and shots right. Is he feeling the pressure of the captaincy, is that affecting his batting. Not good times for Babar and PCT. he is the only world class batsman they have.

He is struggling because of quick transition from test to T20 cricket. He will learn it with time.

Just imagine what we would have scored if Haider walked out last game at 112/2 instead of Malik....

Babar is a below par T20 batsman on 190-200 pitches. His lack of impact in this series should not be surprising.

His T20 batting is almost perfect for 150-160 pitches.

But this inning he seems to be concentrating way too much on legside maybe nerves.

I guess its natural to have bit of nerves. He is still playing his shots which is a big positive first impression in international cricket for a 20 year old.

22 off 10. This is what I am talking about. Babar played 18 and scored 21. Lol

It's the Wasim and Waqar school of T20 bowling, still stuck in 90s Test tactics.

"If you bowl enough good length balls in England, he will eventually nick off, don't worry if he hits you for 15 an over"

I am sure Babar can have 100 average if he score at less pace lol. No one will try to get him out and he will have all the average at the cost of his team's total score

I got Quinton de kock vibes as soon as I saw Haider Ali, not technique wise but just facial similarity.

Strike Rotation and defense of Haider is equally impressive. Other than himself there arent many things can prevent him to be a top batsman.

During the 2nd match when I said had Haider faced those 9 deliveries he would have scored 20 runs
jino take a look 21(9) already.

And two dots to end the over.

Stattos, what's our dot ball consumption in T20 Powerplays compared to other sides ?

Forget technique etc but this Haider Ali has some swag and seems so comfortable at the crease like he belongs, thats 60% of the battle.

Good to see (read, I am not watching) Haider not shaken by the loss of his captain. Going for his shots, which is the key in T20.

52/2 after 6.3 overs.

200 is still a possibility. Haider needs to stay there till the end.

Hafeez looks like the greatest batsman ever whenever he plays a good shot.

Taking time to set is criminal in T20. Because when you get out, team suffers for all the dots you took to be set.

Haider Ali should be supported but nobody should hype him to be another solid batsman like Babar Azam.

Right now Haider Ali is a novelty in international cricket and like many past pakistani players, he will succeed for a short while. But when teams work him out, that is where his true test will lie. Will he be able to adjust his game and become an even better batsman or will he go the way of Hasan Ali.

Time will tell.

Hafeez looks like the greatest batsman ever whenever he plays a good shot.

Should've spent his career at 6 and backed himself as the tape ball hitter he grew up as.

He never had the technique against the new ball.

Haider ali from fatahjang and saqib my 2nd cousin from barazai village great to see attock rise up

I am glad Wasim said 'Azhar might have had a chat with his bowlers' and not 'I had a chat with the English bowlers'. :))

Haider has scored 30 runs from 13 balls.

His strike rate is over 200.
