Right now Haider Ali is a novelty in international cricket and like many past pakistani players, he will succeed for a short while. But when teams work him out, that is where his true test will lie. Will he be able to adjust his game and become an even better batsman or will he go the way of Hasan Ali.

Time will tell.

He has some distinguished qualities that were evident in PSL. I believe he has fastest bat speed in the country in at the moment.

If he continues to learn from Indian batsmen and ignore Pakistani advice he can be pretty good.

He never had the technique against the new ball.

Unfortunately his ego got in the way which is why coaches would let him open. Some of them were incompetent to see that he was a lower middle order batsman whilst some just gave into his demands.

Haider is going to be better than Babar because he steps onto the pitch with tremendous confidence. When I met him at the draft his hunger for the game and passion for batting was obvious. He needs to play for Pakistan in all formats.
