sigh just checked the score. SA got over 300. Philander, Steyn, Morkel all doing well here.

Still think on this pitch, 300 is a below par score. Hopefully England will score at least 400 here, but they'd like more.

Ah Strauss out to Morkel again lol.

:))) how predictable

Morkel was always going to knock strauss over, he pretty much toyed with him all inns!

Strauss really needs to go. Cook's ready enough to take captaincy, and against the stronger bowling attacks it really hurts to carry a passenger in the batting side, particularly as an opener. Strauss was a quality opener, but his time seem's up. And as I said while his captaincy isn't terrible, it's nothing incredible, Cook would probably do a better job.

Trott out!

Bad for England, looks like the young guys will be under huge pressure now.

I said after the winter series that strauss was lucky that W.I series was before the S.A series as it would allow him to score some easy cheap runs and stay in side for alot longer.

Come this S.A series sadly as a player hes been exposed again.

Why send in Bell!

England have two debutants pratically (Taylor's played one matched, Bairstow only one series against a weak side). Are they going to come one after each other? Like what we did in England with Azhar ali at three and umar amin at four? It's not a good idea.

Should have sent Taylor in, then Bell, then Bairstow and then finally Prior. Shouldn't mess around with Prior's position, keep him there at seven (and don't send in taylor or bairstow at seven when England's up against the wall, it's too much pressure, but Prior's used to it)

Cook's out. And Steyn becomes Tarzan like :)).

England are in trouble now. All hopes lie on Bell :(.

Yesterday at the same time, this thread was flooded with Chest thumping English fans.

Today at the same time, they are nowhere to be seen.

Ah the irony

As I type this, another one bites the dust

Cook Caught Kallis, B Steyn

England looking down the barrel

Well England were ahead yesterday.

Just they let the SA tail wag, and SA have bowled very well today.

England are losing now though I agree.

The reason I said this, is because Cockiness sometimes comes back to bite on the bum.

And England did not 'Let' the SA Tail wag. It's just sheer grit, determination and hard work that has paid off for SA.

And I wont repeat what the English fans do, and go ahead to say that SA are winning.

But would say that despite 3rd umpires dodgy decisions, SA have shown some real fight here.

Still anybody's game

Whippy?
Robert?
Malakian?

Missing posters..........

If seen please return them to this thread :D

oh oh! england 3 down and rock and steyn tearing in with his tail up!

exciting stuff!

As expected Sun is shining and England is ruining the better batting condition. Well, SA ruin the batting to yesterday by batting badly.

Robert and Whippy are cool, generally they don't make excuses. But I suspect that malakian is "working", but will be back to gloat after "work" if things do stabilise.

Yeah I just finished work too. Looks pretty bleak doesn't it.

We were 54/4 too :D

Will be interesting to see if their middle order and tail can put in the hard graft required to bring them back into the match.

Time for bairstow to show hes either cut out for this level or not!

There is a venom in the deliveries by Morkel but we bowled 80mph lolli pops at them. I can't believe we didn't bounced Philander, he almost holed out to square leg when on 12 but that's the last bouncer for him.

Bell's SR is 8.33. I have a feeling that he has to play his natural game because he doesn't seem to do too well in blocking out the overs. Morkel is hitting 145+ km/h consistently, you have to take the attack to him.

Can't really fathom why Prior hasn't been elevated up the order tbh. Why throw Taylor and Bairstow to the lions?

Not quite out of it yet, but three wickets away from being a deadstick.

England need to win,for that they need atleast 400.cant see it happening.

so out of it from ranking point of view

Good partnership this. Watch out for Tahir! He is landing his length right today.

very tough.England bat last.anything above 250 will be huge task

I agree. But in order to beat a top side like South Africa in a test match, an opponent has to do something exceptional.

Quite embarrassed that we have managed to lose even a few wickets to him in 2 and a bit test matches. Most of them were batsman brainfarts though in fairness.

some good cricket match on display :)

Ill be suprised if England wins this one though.

England's knocked off half the runs.

They might be missing KP but Bairstow's done a good job

Baistow is a fearsome striker of the ball.

Good partnership here. I still think we might fold for 250 but it was looking like 130 for a while, so we're back in this contest.

Match now depends on how many runs England can get before the new ball because I doubt these two or Prior will survive that

So Tahir is a pure no.11 batsman, a mediocre leg-spinner and an absolute donkey in the field. The only good thing he did was moving to SA, there's no way he would've got into any other team.

Yet, he still has more wickets than the over hyped Swann

Why you think he's over hyped? Any good reason? Criticising Tahir have nothing to do with me being an English fan, I would've said that if he's in Eng team.

I don't like Tahir much either.

Well, he's over hyped because
A) Ajmal is better than him
B) He's not spun a bowl a long way since a long time

1. Ajmal is a terrific bowler but calling Swann over hyped just because Ajmal is a better bowler shows your stupidity. So according to you there's only one good batsman and one good bowler and every others were over hyped?

2. May be if you don't know, a cricket ball swings a lot in England and spins a lot in SC and there's a particular reason for that which you should know. Swann spun the ball a lot when he played in UAE and SL.
