Hard to believe its already been so much time but its been exactly 11 months since I arrived in Germany and embarked on this fantastic journey. The ERASMUS programme for those who arent aware is an EU funded initiative which allows tens of thousands of students every year study abroad for either 1 or 2 semesters (I did 2).
Through this programme I personally have made some great friends from all over the world including Macedonia, Jordan, Romania, Morocco and countless other locations, and have had so many magnificent memories. I did my studies here in Bochum and personally absolutely loved it, with the many many student benefits NordRhein Westphalia offers to students making the year even more memorable. As well as that I have managed to significantly improve my German language proficiency through interactions with locals and studying the language in college, with the EU OLS programme grading me at C1 level (realistically I believe im more B2 but still a big improvement on before)
I've created this thread as the initiative is over 20 years old now and every year becomes more and more popular, and no doubt some posters here either have or will do an Erasmus semester at some stage in the future. For the former I'd like to know where they went and how it was, and for the latter I guess this thread can be a very useful spot to post questions and ask for advice and tips and help and so on.
A truly magnificent aspect of the EU it must be said. Cant believe my time is already over!
