A retired army officer, Major (retd) Adil Raja, who had reportedly gone missing from Islamabad, has "safely" reached his family in the United Kingdom, he said in a tweet on Thursday.

"There is a lot to say, but everything will be spoken about in time," he said and warned: "After this, if my mother and loved ones are hurt even slightly, I won't hold back."

He also shared a copy of his complaint registered with the Punjab Police stating he was given "life threats". According to the copy, the complaint was registered on April 19.

The news about the alleged disappearance of Raja, who is the former spokesman of the Pakistan Ex-Serviceman Society (PESS), first surfaced on Twitter on Wednesday when a woman, Sabine Kayani, who said she was his wife, tweeted she was unable to establish contact with him and sought people's help to trace his whereabouts.

Social media has been abuzz over the "disappearance" of the former army man since then.

In one of her tweets yesterday, Kayani said some men claiming to be from the FIA raided the house of her mother-in-law while Raja was not there. "Her house is hardly 100 metres away from the Army house. Shortly after this we lost contact with my husband," she had said.

Her tweet also included a video that showed armed men standing on a staircase, purportedly outside an apartment.

On Thursday afternoon, Kayani confirmed she had established contact with her husband, saying he is "fine and free". She also thanked people for their support.

Raja is an active political commentator on Twitter and an ardent supporter of former premier Imran Khan. He had also criticised the ouster of Imran and his government and called for the re-election of the PTI chief as prime minister in one of his tweets from April 10.

"Let's bring back #ImranKhan with 2/3rd Majority InshAllah."

According to his profile on Twitter, he is a war veteran and currently a columnist with a local English daily.

Just days ago, he resigned as spokesperson of the PESS and stated in one of his tweets that he quit the position "voluntarily".

The ex-army officer has also been very critical of the new government – the Sharif family in particular – and has sporadically called them out for their alleged corruption.

The day Shehbaz Sharif had taken oath as the prime minister, Raja had tweeted: "Appointment of the new Crime Minister is an indication of our System Failure."

Not happy with him. He left his wife and family behind. His first priority was to make sure they were not in harms way.

He ran away leaving his wife, mother behind, helpless. Didnt even inform his family.

Thats stupid, awful.

YouTuber Adil Raja arrested in London

YouTuber Adil Farooq Raja has been arrested in the United Kingdom (UK) for running a defamatory campaign against Pakistan’s state institutions, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

The controversial YouTuber Raja was reportedly detained by Scotland Yard. He was summoned for questioning by the investigators for his alleged involvement in incitement to violence through YouTube and other platforms.

It is pertinent to mention here that Raja was also booked in several cases in Pakistan related to inciting Pakistanis to rebel against the state.

On Monday, Islamabad police booked overseas Pakistanis including Raja for inciting people to rebel against the state.

The FIR was registered on the complaint of G-11 resident, Muhammad Aslam at the Ramana police station. Overseas Pakistanis, Shaheen Sehbai, Haider Raza Mehdi, Wajahat Saeed Khan and Adil Farooq Raja have been nominated in the case under terrorism and sedition charges.

The FIR stated that Raja and others, who are living abroad, incited people against defense institutions and tried to create anarchy in Pakistan. “The accused are playing in the hands of foreign hostile agencies,” the FIR read.

Raja fled from Pakistan last year in April. He was known for doing propaganda against state institutions under nefarious plans to create anarchy in Pakistan. His YouTube channel was recently also banned for spreading misinformation.

Since when does UK care about someone creating unrest in Pakistan? This does not sound right. Can someone else confirm if he is actually "arrested" and if so what charges? Western states value freedom of speech over anything so this would be a huge slap in the face if true.

From what I've heard, there were threats against him so the UK authorities informed him.

The British government is a lapdog of Washington , which is why Sunak dismissed Pakistan issues as internal issue.

If you are in the UK esp if you're a citizen , they cant stop your views on a foriegn nations political status but there is no full freedom of speech in the west if it goes against western interests.

Its not just the army or the COAS who is at fault but those who are supporting them in far away lands in the west.

No civilisation has show hypocrisy as the west has, which is why they are seen as liars by most of the planet.

It didnt click right with me either. At most he may have received a summon to appear at a station to clarify .

But theres hardly any chance the UK will arrest 3rd world nationals for problems in their home countries.

Hmm, so even UK sees him as a criminal. Time to deport him back and be jailed

According to news, he was given bail and investigation will still go on against him. UK don't have a lawless legal system like Pakistan, where a person goes missing or arrest someone indefinitely without being charged by the court.

Geo News understands Adil Raja has been bailed for three months to a date in September 2023. Meanwhile, the security sources said the investigation into the terrorism allegations will continue.

Social media activist and YouTuber Adil Raja has been receiving funds from India for inciting hatred against state intuitions in Pakistan, Provincial Caretaker Minister for Information and Public Relations KP Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel claimed Friday.

Addressing a press conference in Peshawar, Barrister Feroze Jamal said that London-based social media activist was conducting a provocative campaign against state institutions by sitting in British capital through his YouTube channel.

“Adil Raja is receiving funds from India for spreading hatred, and disseminating anti-state propaganda in Pakistan,” he said.

I am sure he provided evidence of the said funding from India?

Personally i think these are all lies that he got arrested and is out on bail. i dont think any of that makes sense. there are no laws in the west which will prohibit you from expressing your views and then get hit with defamation lawsuit by a foreign government. thats now how it works. or else trump would have been sued for the muslim ban or calling some countries **** hole countries.

As literally all the Foreign powers are fully supportive of this criminal regime, who is this " Foreign agent" supposedly working for?

Ex-army officers Adil Raja, Haider Mehdi handed jail sentences following court martial for ‘inciting sedition’: ISPR

Major (rtd) Adil Farooq Raja and Captain (rtd) Haider Raza Mehdi, both former army officers with large following on YouTube, were handed 14 and 12 years of jail sentence respectively following their Field General Court Martial for “inciting sedition”, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.

In a statement, the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) said both retired officers were convicted and sentenced “under the Pakistan Army Act, 1952 for the charges of inciting sedition among army personnel from discharge of duties and violation of the provisions of Official Secrets Act, 1923 related to espionage and acts prejudicial to the safety and interest of the state”.

The ISPR said that Major (rtd) Raja was sentenced to “14 years rigorous punishment” while Captain (rtd) Mehdi was handed “12 years rigorous punishment”.

“The court of competent jurisdiction convicted and adjudged both the individuals on the date of Oct 7 and Oct 9, 2023, through due judicial process,” the military said.

“Pursuant to the awarded sentence, the ranks of both officers have been forfeited on Nov 21, 2023,” the statement said.

Neither Raja, nor Mehdi is likely to serve the sentence as they are based outside of Pakistan.

The convictions likely pertain to the May 9 incidents, when PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s arrest resulted in widespread violence and saw important military installations come under attack.

In June this year, Islamabad’s Ramna Police Station had booked four people, including Raja and Mehdi, for allegedly inciting a mob during the May 9 violent protests.

Days later, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker minister for information Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel had said 33 cases about the riots had been sent to military courts. He had alleged that Raja was “involved in anti-state activities”.

The charges included Pakistan Penal Code’s sections 120-B (punishment of criminal conspiracy), 121 (waging or attempting to wage war or abetting waging of war against Pakistan), 121-A (conspiracy to commit offences punishable by section 121) and 131 (abetting mutiny, or attempting to seduce a soldier, sailor or airman from his duty), along with sections 7 (punishment for acts of terrorism), 11-W (printing, publishing, or disseminating any material to incite hatred) and 21-I (aid and abetment) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.

Amnesty International and Reporters Without Borders had raised concerns over the cases filed under sedition laws, which it said were used to “silence commentators and journalists”.

Retired army officer and dissident vlogger Adil Farooq Raja was denied by the UK High Court to stay proceedings in a defamation case brought against him by a former senior military officer, with the court setting a trial date for April 2025.

The defamation suit was filed against YouTuber Raja by retired Brigadier Rashid Naseer in August 2022, but was made public this week after the respondent stirred another controversy in Pakistan over his allegations targeting leading film and TV actresses.

An order issued by the court suggests that Mr Raja’s campaign against Mr Naseer kicked off on June 14, 2022 when the former alleged that he “has taken complete occupation of the Lahore High Court ‘to rig the upcoming elections’”.

The order issued last week by the High Court of Justice, King’s bench division in the media and communications list before Richard Spearman KC sitting as deputy high court judge details the allegations made by Mr Raja and determines their meaning at the preliminary stage.

It maintains that the case centres on 10 publications, which range from alleging that elections were not proceeding because the claimant (Mr Naseer) had taken complete control of the Lahore High Court; that the claimant had several meetings with Asif Ali Zardari during his stay to discuss election manipulation; that the claimant has set up an election cell in the ‘sector headquarters’ of Lahore tasked with gathering progress reports on PDM and PML-N candidates and that it is pressuring local influencers against PTI; that the claimant was abusing his position and that the claimant is directly involved in political interference.

The judge held that of the 10 allegations, nine are defamatory of the claimant at common law, and that the words complained of were said as statements of fact. At the trial stage, Mr Raja will have to prove the allegations he made against the claimant.

The order set out the administrative processes of sharing disclosure documents and witness statements, and allowed Mr Raja’s application to anonymise witnesses when exchanging witness statements.

Pakistan does not have robust defamation laws though the penal code does have some provisions pertaining to defamation cases. In recent years, however, Pakistanis defamed in the UK, either by a UK-based publisher or individual, have approached courts here to settle defamation claims.

Controversial YouTuber Adil Raja's legal defeat has exposed his alleged baseless narrative, and sources claim that he is now seeking an NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance). The British court invalidated Adil Raja's statements, turning him into a symbol of fake news.

Following the court martial of the Pakistan Army, Adil Raja has been declared guilty in the British court, dealing a significant blow to his credibility.

In the British court, this defeat extends beyond Adil Raja himself to encompass the repugnant and anti-state narrative propagated by all his followers. The leadership of a certain party was also complicit in Adil Raja's false narrative.

The decision of the British court not only exposed Adil Raja but also revealed the involvement of many journalists who consistently engage in anti-state and anti-army propaganda.

Adil Raja's attempts to seek forgiveness after facing legal troubles only serve as evidence of his hypocrisy.

On one hand, India is involved in extrajudicial killings abroad through state terrorism, while on the other hand, Pakistan has demonstrated its commitment to upholding the rule of law by taking legal measures to combat treasonous activities.

Reports indicate that Adil Raja is actively seeking an apology, but it has been decided to pursue legal action against his alleged propaganda to its logical conclusion.

UK court rejects Adil Raja’s appeal to waive £10,000 fine

A British court has rejected Adil Raja’s appeal to waive the 10,000 pound fine in the case filed by Brigadier (R) Rashid Naseer.

Brigadier Rashid (R), the plaintiff in the British court, stated that Adil Raja had not yet paid the fine of 10,000 pounds. British Court Deputy Judge High Court Richards Spearman issued an order to pay another 3,000 pounds to the fugitive Adil Raja.

Adil Raja had filed an appeal on April 16, 2024, to waive the fine, which was rejected, and now he has been ordered to pay this fine along with three thousand pounds.

It should be noted that the British court had ordered Adil Raja to pay 10,000 pounds to plaintiff Brigadier (Retd) Rashid Naseer’s two applications, an injunction on the defamation case, and security costs.

The British court had declared that Adil Raja defamed Brigadier Retired Rashid Naseer in nine posts on his X, Facebook, and YouTube.

Adil Raja was given time till April 17, 2024, to pay this amount, but he filed an appeal on April 16 for the remission of the penalty. After Adil Raja’s appeal for the remission of the fine was also rejected, it was proved that the British court was not satisfied with his stand.

Adil Raja started his campaign against the officer on June 14, 2022, through tweets and videos on YouTube and Facebook. Retired brigadier Rashid filed his case on August 11, 2022, through his British lawyers.
