Whilst a lot of attention has quite rightly been on Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali, this lad has just come into international cricket and taken it by storm.

There is a sense of something special about his cricket. He is developing and he has lots to learn but this kid is a fantastic talent and seems to just get better and better.

I was at Edgbaston when he played that great innings against Bangladesh ahead of the Champions Trophy and he looked a tremendous hitter and since then he has continued to improve.

Mouthwatering prospect.

He will become inshallah our best lower order hitter! But we also must appreciate Sarfraz decision to send him at 5!

The rivalry is about to come to life! Faheem v Pandya,,,,Botham v Imran Khan!!

Watch and wait
SarfiBabarHaris bhai is never wrong.

He should work hard as possible to improve his batting. Seen so many cricketers with promise then fade away.

its taken him a while, but to see if he's finally getting consistent games

hopefully he's a permanent fixture in the 11 in NZ (or if WI come) - enough of Imad's baqwas cricket

A lot of people, including me, need to come clear and say that they were wrong about this guy. They were wrong about Inzi's eye for talent because when Inzi identified Faheem, everybody want Aamer yamin in his place and wrote Faheem off. Not saying Aamer isnt a terrific prospect but Faheem is really showing how correct Inzimam was.

So, well done Inzi and humble pie for all of us who doubted Faheem when he was first selected.

I wanted to create a separate thread about it but i guess this will suffice.

Great post. But many PPers will have you believe Inzamam is responsible for all the bad selections and gets no credit for the good ones.

Thanks bro :) Faheem is the best lower order hitter in Pakistan as i said and i like his development and handling by management.. He is not someone like Amir Yamin who is stroke maker and is better building an innings at no 6 while Faheem is better hitting the ball from word go in slog overs.. Faheem still needs work on how to build an innings but that will improve once he play more matches (domestic and international both).

As far as I can remember he has made full use of every opportunity he has gotten. Starting fromhis heroics in the warm-up game against Bangladesh, hattrick in the last game and now today 2 balls 2 SIXes. Hopefully he will get a proper place in the team soon.

He provides flexibility in the batting order as was shown today. Sent him up the order for some late innings hitting.

This sort of player is so valuable for the team.

Regarding his bowling, he's quicker than he looks.

Seems to jog in and tunr his arm over, but he generates some pace and extra bounce.

Potential there to be even quicker in the coming years.

Abdul Razzaq style match-changer in the making.

Attitude is good too. Someone who has the drive to succeed and wont be happy with just being decent.

He has the potential to become a genuine allrounder, not just a late order hitter. Having watched him bat in the handful innings he has played, he plays proper cricket shots rather than closed eyed slogs. To develop an allrounder Pakistan management and captain will need to be aggressive and allow Faheem to bat at 6. That is exactly what England did with Stokes and India are doing with Pandya. Can Pakistan do the same with Faheem?

Have to admit that I was wrong about Faheem.I considered him as a trundler with some mediocre batting skills.A great talent.

He needs to come in with atleast 5-6 overs left min, not in the final over.

I believe he has touched 142 km/hr in one of the ODI's or T-20's.

Yes. And he has consistently bowled in the late 130s. He is not some dibly dobly bowler. In today's era even his pace is hard to find for a frontline bowler, let alone for an all rounder.

Azhar says he's a very clean hitter once set - today he teed off from ball one.

Very bright future - his bowling looks sharp as well.

Why hasnt he been given more opportunities than hes got saj? He played really well in the CT warm up and hasnt really been seen since the last couple of games

Fahim should end Imad's career sooner than later.

The type of clean hitting we saw today we haven't seen since Razzaq/Afridi

One of the key about his batting skills are that he can hit big shots against seamers, most of our seniors and lower order hitters cannot do that. He has a very good pull and hook, I remember against SA or SL in CT, he came in and hit one for six, I think he runout in that match, but still made less than run a ball 15...

Let’s see how he does in NZ, I can see mgmt now will play him over Immad in that series, which is the right move

This!
Also he can hit sixes on yorkers too which only few others can.. He has a Dhoni like helicopter shot... I like his development, he is not being rushed.. Few failures and fans will make him another Bilawal Bhatti even though he has much more potential than Bilawal and all of our other allrounders after Razzaq... He will play in NZ where pitches are godo for his style of play.

Seemed pretty innocuous to me when I saw him last year in a domestic tournament, but he's developed relatively quickly in the last few months.

An incredible prospect, showed the world today why he needs to come up the order. Was a fan of his batting , his bowling is something of a surprise. Like Razzaq his action deceives the batter facing him. His bowl comes a lot faster than one can assume. His econ. rate uptil now is fantastic.

It's important that his batting develops. We don't have any clean hitters , so we need Faheem to learn how to contract an innings and work on his technique. Bowling wise I hope he can get to a level were he can bowl 7-10 overs. All rounders need a long rope so I hope he is now given a run of games after performing well in this series.

yeah I saw that helicopter shot in Pakistan cup.I still think he needs to improve against spin bowling.

Can he be our Lance Klusenar. Hard hitting batsman and someone who bowls at 135-140 km/hr plus

Excellent prospect.

He should play all t20s and ODIs. Don't think pakistan can accommodate imad and faheem in the same 11 in odis.

ODI team should be

fakhar/imam/azhar/farhan openers (three of them should be in 15)
Babar
Sarfraz (he is redundant down the order)
Malik
Hafeez (for now)/haris
Faheem
Shadab
Hasan
Rumman/shinwari
Amir

The development in his game will be on PSL next years just like shadab did

Different types of bowler.

However in the likes of England, Australia, Faheem should be picked ahead of the spinning all-rounders.

Really impressed by him. He is an excellent find. I'm gonna be honest and say I was against his selection based on stats but he's proved me wrong.

They have to promote him to 6 next series to see full capabilities at this stage. There's no point waiting. If he does well, then Pakistan has a long-term number 6, if not, move him back down and continue working.
