From PCB:

Fakhar Zaman will depart for London on Friday to undergo rehabilitation. Fakhar had landed awkwardly on his right knee while fielding during the ACC T20 Asia Cup final in Dubai. As per the protocols, the PCB has scheduled his medical appointments with specialists who will be providing the best medical care for his rehabilitation.

During his stay in London, the PCB will make all relevant logistical arrangements for Fakhar and he will remain under the supervision of the PCB Advisory Panel, which includes Dr Imtiaz Ahmad and Dr Zafar Iqbal, who are also treating Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Saj bhai, is it just the knee rehabilitation or something else in terms of rehabilitation is included (420) as well.

As far as I am aware it's just knee. But if you know something else :)

So we have two potentially injured players in the reserves. Can the reserves be replaced if they do not rehabilitate in time?

Also, the second paragraph in OP seems to be a response to the Shaheen Shah issue that Shahid Afridi raised.

He will be part of main squad if gets to full fitness as squads can be changed till 15th Oct

Doesn't deserve to be selected tbh. Needs to regain form and confidence in domestics

Apparently it's come out that Shaheen has for his own ticket to London and also paying through his own pocket for the treatment :O

Why do our players always go to London for treatment and rehabilitation? Aren’t there any good doctors and physios in Pakistan?

It is probably due to lack of maturity and experience in Sports medicine.

Well if he's fit, what to do?

Keep him as a reserve, bring him into the squad?

Some good news, we have been told that Fakhar Zaman has made a good recovery and should be fit if needed to play in the T20 World Cup.

Pakistani politicians also go to London for treatment.Sharif family goes to London even when it catches cold.

He walks in straightaway to replace Khushdil

But will the think-tank agree with this.

I've a feeling that the coaching staff are desperate for Khushdil to succeed.

Fakhar was horrible in the Asia Cup, even that 50 against Hong Kong was unconvincing. He has been figured out via the short ball. Even his ODI form has not been convincing, take out that 193 against South Africa and his stats don't make for a pretty reading.

I think Fakhar has still a good amount of goodwill due to his performances on the whole . His recent t20 form has been poor but he’s somebody who can really get into the groove at any time regardless of his form.
His 50 in the semi last year against Australia really was electrifying and had Pakistan closed that match out it would have gone down as one of the great knocks for Pakistan .
On that basis if fit he walks back into the team . Just needs to fine tune himself in the warm up games .

An out of form Fakhar on a really bad day is still ten million times better than an in-form Kushdil on his best day. That is the gulf between Fakhar and just about anyone to be honest in our middle order.

If Fakhar is fit, and it sounds like he is, then he walks into this team 100 times out of 100.

I expect Haider to drop out of the squad. There’s an argument for it to be Shan, but given he’s just been picked, it won’t be Shan.

Fallen awkwardly.

Physio out there.

He's conitnuing to bat at the moment but it didn't look great.

Wasim Akram:
Fakhar was injured with the same knee during LPL. I hope it is not the same knee again, as I was with the B-Love Kandy team and we had Fakhar as an opener. He left before the Semi-finals as Pakistan had 3 Odis scheduled with Afghanistan. He (Fakhar) had a problem with that knee since then so it means he was carrying that injury into the World Cup. I hope he gets better soon.

Damn. If he was injured why was he playing the stupid LPL and the stupid Afghan series. Our players try their hardest to plan to fail.

He's been carrying this injury long before the LPL.

It's an injury that has plagued him for a long time.

He had the knee injury last year when he ended up at Crystal Palace FC with Shaheen Afridi for treatment.

It was sorted out to get him playing again, but as usual it looks like PCB hasn't followed it up to resolve the long-term issues.

He had knee problems also at the LPL this year.
