Its weird how he kept getting dropped after he gave one bad performance, but did reasonable in the previous match. Stuff like that can really weaken your confidence.

On the other hand, Umar akmal kept getting opportunities even though he had a rubbish tour of England, but his fanboys never raised questions over his selection

I guess being an 'Akmal' does have his benefits

plus one to that, these akmals are hurting the team badly.

My point being he wont develop into something big or a match winner. He's not "special" for me. An average batsman.

even his average has been dropping sharply since it was about 42 after the ODIs in Australia.

if you're not going to the school picnic, there's no need to reserve you a seat on the school bus..
