We don't have any BM fans ont his board so they have not got much attention but they probaly by far been one of the most active teams this off season!

They picked up:
Jansen (WIY confirm?)
Toni
Ribery
and now Miroslav Klose!

They have alot of strikers in their team now with Toni, Klose, Mackaay and Podolski and all are first team strikers. Though I think they could play TOni and Klose and probaly put Podolski left or wide left.

Its scary how good they may be in one year when they re-enter the CL! There is one team I would like to avoid!

looking a very good team i would them favs to win the UEFA CUP.
i would love spurs to play them it would be a cracking game

My 2nd favourite team after Arsenal.

99 still lingers in the mind. But 2001 revenge was fruitful.

Great team, truley german giants and look great for next year, will school everyone I would say too bad not in CL !

You would think that they have a squad that would be one of the favourites for the CL but thats the funny thing. They should smash everyone in the BL and Uefa.

hitzfield is a class manager and im not surprised with the team he is building

YOu know the amount of times we say that...the opposite tends to happen.

And they start their title pusuit today and in style! Killing some unknown team 3-0 with Klose bagging 2 and Toni getting a goal with his first shot in their BM debut.

Poor goalie Waechter (former W.Bremen) had to take 25 shots ON GOAL! BM may be a very excitign team to watch from now on with all their attacking options.

How far they have come in 7 years. By far the best club right now.

Yup amazing team and now has an extraordinary manager can they make a history now #back2back

If Bayern plays its 'A' game, there ain't no stopping.

last time in 2012 it was very tense and in the return leg after the aggregates were level both sides started to stay back it was kinda pressure so yes the first leg is important in a sense that you have the luxury to play to your natural game but then again such is the abundance of talent on both sides then you go for risk it all stuff try to stay in the tie all in all looks like a mouthwatering prospect also last time it was Jupp vs Mou now its Ancelotti vs Pep

Bayern's B game would still be good enough to beat Madrid. They have played C grade recently and still beaten teams.

For you kind information
They lost to dortmund in munich by 3-0

and before that they lost to a lower ranked team by 1-0 with their A teams:ajmal

Munich are the best side in europe at the moment and will dominate the domestic league for quite a few seasons, whether they can dominate in europe remains to be seen, whilst they have a strong powerful team playing some wonderful football they do have weakness in the centre of defence am not a massive fan of dante or boateng and up front madzukic is a good striker but not world class, that may change with Lewandoski joining. I think Real can cause Bayern problems tomorrow and knock them out.

Gut feeling says it will be K.O for Bayern but i hope i'm proved wrong history favors Bayern though

Madrid will score at the Allianz, BM defence looks very shaky against the counter, of which Real are probably the most devastating exponent.

Will be a brilliant game if Madrid can score early on.

Bayern are out ... they are not going to score 4 .. Real Madrid's playing a more enterprising style of what Jose did to Liverpool on the weekend. As I speak they go 3-0 up .. Bayern destroyed.

Who will Bayern buy now? Gundagan? Diego Costa?

Big fail by Pep leaving Javi Martinez out.

Also in general tika taka just don't work anymore against quality opposition .. Madrid have been playing against it for 5 years and know how to handle it.

Who will Bayern buy now? Gundagan? Diego Costa?

They need two top class centre backs, i said earlier in this thread that dante and boateng were mediocre and they were run ragged in 1st game and have been poor tonight, niether has any real pace and positionally have been found wanting.

Looks like once again the CL title will not be defended by the holders.

Very disappointing performance by Bayern Real deserved it a Madrid derby would an exciting prospect now

well that escalated quickly :))

Guardiola brutally schooled by the old fox Ancelotti, brilliant stuff.

They were definitely better last year, I think winning the Bundesliga early sucked the intensity out of the players.

it was the tactics, even United were hurting Bayern on the break in the quarterfinal...if Wellbeck had finished off his one on one it could have been a very different contest.

plus Guardiola teams have always been poor at defending set-pieces.

It was kind of odd though, Pep didn't really change his tactics after the first leg even when Madrid had three legitimate chances.

So Pep has gone from hero to zero on the basis of one game lol.

During Manc city (2nd group game), Arsenal, Uinted, Real games the bayern defence were shown to be vunerable and able to get at on the counter attack and with pace. Just goes to show possesion football and fancy passing doesnt always win you big games, Hopefully Pep will learn from this and make bayern stronger.,

Also hope wenger was watching as hes been similarly exposed, for all the fancy attack flair going forward you need to learn how to defend as a team otherwise you will be exposed. If i was Pep in summer Two world class CB or atleast one would my priority for next season.

So Pep has gone from hero to zero on the basis of one game lol.

He was flavour of the month with some of the bayern heiracy already and wont be shocked if he left earlier then his contract length, id welcome him at arsenal with open arms.

^ Beckenbauer has been very critical of Bayern's style of play under Pep and to good measure. Pep is also one of the philosophers who want to play in a certain way (Wenger) but his tactics were foolish. To expect to turn up and just bulldoze their way past Real Madrid was very immature and there was no urgency in the play despite going a goal down.

Ancelotti is a class act. People keep going about the likes of Guardiola, Klopp, Mourinho and Simeone while his name slips under the radar.

Bayern don't have the quality in their spine that Barca had, they lose it too easily upfield and then get caught on the counter. Pep ought to have adapted his system around the individuals at his disposal, next season they'll be back though - still a quality team.

Just another point - Is Robben the most predictable player to watch in Europe?

^ Disagree Ancelotti has always been a class act, it takes a special personality to handle the egos at a club like Real Madrid.

Man management is one aspect of management. There are few other aspects to look up to in a good manager. Making good use of the limited resources is an imp aspect. Likes of Simeone, klopp and Martinez excel in that aspect.

Carletto is a legend, going to get his autobiography so I can read more gems like this one about the Community Shield:

For a long time, I thought that was my favorite trophy, if only because it's shaped like a plate. And on that plate you can put what you like: I piled it high with passion, with the discovery of a world I knew nothing about...

Once they put the trophy - or perhaps I should say, the plate - in my hand, I hoisted it with enormous pride. Priceless, unique, and incredibly light. Magic seconds. And then an imperceptible sense of discomfort seized hold of me for an instant; but that always happens when I see an empty plate.

or:

One day, right after the Anglo-Italian Cup, I walked into my little office. There, waiting for me, was Nando De Napoli, a former teammate on the Italian national team at the World Cup of 1986: "Nando, what a surprise! How are you?"

"Fine, Carletto. How are you?"

"Doing great, Nando. You should have called me. I didn't know you were in the neighborhood. If I'd known you were coming, we could have had lunch."

"Oh, yeah, well ..."

"By the way, Nando, what brings you to this neck of the woods?"

"I'm your new midfielder."

I pretended to smile, but inside I was sobbing.

Soccer is like having lunch with your friends: the more you eat, the hungrier you get. It's the chef and the company that make all the difference; and I love the company of David Beckham. One evening, while he was playing for A. C. Milan, I invited Beckham to dinner in a restaurant in Parma. By the end of the evening, he refused to leave the restaurant. I kept insisting, and he kept pleading with me, "Please, one more course." ...In the end, I managed to convince him with these words: "Look, David, if we don't leave this restaurant right now, I'm going to arrange another Spice Girls reunion tour." Fourteen seconds later we were back in the car, hurtling back toward Milan, with the radio off.

One evening at the San Siro, I was continuing to field Clarence Seedorf, and some of the fans in the stands were voicing their disagreement, one gentleman louder than the others: "Go back to Parma and pig out on tortellini."

"And you go **** yourself."

He was screaming in Italian, and I replied in proper French.

I wasn't defending Seedorf, it's just that I can't stand by and watch someone insult a perfectly good plate of tortellini.

Ancelotti is awesome.

RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann to become Bayern Munich boss

RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann will join Bayern Munich on a five-year contract at the end of this season, the German champions have announced.

Current boss Hansi Flick said last week he wanted to leave the Bavarian club.

At 33, Nagelsmann is one of the most highly-rated young managers in Europe and led Leipzig to a Champions League semi-final last year.

"Julian Nagelsmann stands for a new generation of trainers," said Bayern president Herbert Hainer.

The German, who will take over on 1 July, will reportedly cost Bayern more than £20m in compensation.

"I will leave RB Leipzig with a heavy heart," said Nagelsmann. "It is something very special for me to take on the position of Bayern coach."

Nagelsmann became the youngest head coach in Bundesliga history, aged 28, when he took charge of Hoffenheim in February 2016.

After moving to Leipzig in 2019, he led them to a third-place finish in the Bundesliga and the semi-finals of the Champions League in his first season.

This season, the East German club mounted a strong title challenge - looking to become national champions for the first time in their history - before Bayern earned a 1-0 win against them to take control of the race.

Nagelsmann's side are seven points clear of third-placed Wolfsburg with three matches left to play.

They reached the Champions League last 16, where they lost to Liverpool, and will play Werder Bremen on Friday in the German Cup semi-finals.

"It's still too early to say goodbye and otherwise talk about memories, because I'm not finished here in Leipzig," said Nagelsmann.

"My mission will end in the summer, but until then it will continue at full throttle. We have grown into a sworn bunch that finally want a title.

"I have never made a secret of the fact I am excited about the coaching position at Bayern Munich and that I would be happy to take on this job if this unique opportunity should arise."

Bayern suffer biggest loss since 1978

Bayern Munich suffered their biggest defeat since 1978 as they were thrashed at Borussia Monchengladbach in the German Cup second round.

Gladbach led 1-0 after two minutes and 3-0 by the 21st minute.

Kouadio Kone slotted home his first goal for the club before Ramy Bensebaini swept home Jonas Hofmann's cross and then netted a penalty.

Breel Embolo took advantage of a defensive mistake for the fourth and then his second from Luca Netz's pass.

"I'm absolutely shocked. We simply didn't turn up," Bayern sports director and former player Hasan Salihamidzic told ARD.

"We were just not there. We did not win a single tackle or challenge in the entire first half.

"Everything that could go wrong went wrong. We let ourselves be outplayed in every situation - a collective blackout."

Gladbach scored with five of their six shots on target - with Bayern having more possession and more efforts than the hosts without scoring.

It was only the second defeat Bayern, who named a first-choice team, have suffered under Julian Nagelsmann and ended a run of scoring in 85 consecutive games.

Nagelsmann was at home self-isolating, having tested positive for Covid-19.

Bayern last lost a game by a five-goal margin 43 years ago when Fortuna Dusseldorf beat them 7-1 in the Bundesliga.

Their record defeat remains a 7-0 home loss to Schalke in the league back in 1976 - but this is their biggest defeat in a competition they have won a record 20 times.

Adi Hutter's Gladbach, who have lost four of their past eight games, are in the bottom half of the Bundesliga.

Thrashed Salzburg 8-2 across 2 legs and into the final 8 of the Champions League. The 2020 winners looking strong as ever, will almost certainly go deep in the competition.

With no German Cup to play for this year. Players should be fitter than last year when Lewadowski missed the QF.

Let’s see who they get out of the other remaining teams in the QF tie.

Bayern Munich clinches record 10th straight Bundesliga title

BERLIN (AP) Bayern Munich completed a decade of domestic dominance by beating main rival Borussia Dortmund 3-1 to seal a record-extending 10th consecutive Bundesliga title on Saturday.

Goals from Serge Gnabry, Robert Lewandowski and Jamal Musiala sent Bayern an unassailable 12 points clear of second-placed Dortmund with three games of the season remaining.

Canada's Alphonso Davies started for Bayern and earned his fourth Bundesliga title.

The 21-year-old was sidelined for nearly three months after he developed symptoms of the heart condition myocarditis following a case of COVID-19.

He returned in early April and has registered five assists in 28 appearances across all competitions in 2021-22.

Saturday marks Bayern's eight consecutive league win over Dortmund, which hasn't won a game in Munich since 2014.

Bayern's 10th straight German championship is a record among Europe's top five leagues, eclipsing the nine Serie A titles in a row by Juventus from 2012-20.

Bayern's players celebrated with the customary beer showers. French defender Benjamin Pavard was the first to douse Julian Nagelsmann with beer after the coach's first title in charge.

Though Dortmund had little hope left of catching the Bavarian powerhouse, Marco Rose's players wanted to delay their rivals' title celebrations for another day. But the visitors were left to rue the cost of individual mistakes and missed opportunities.

Both Rose and defender Emre Can were booked toward the end of the first half as referee Daniel Siebert reacted to fraying tempers.

Dortmund started well but Bayern scored with its first corner of the game in the 15th minute when Leon Goretzka cushioned the ball back for Gnabry. The unmarked Germany forward took it on his thigh then let fly with a volley inside the left post.

Erling Haaland missed a good chance for Dortmund before Gnabry had a second goal ruled out through VAR for offside in the 30th.

The home fans didn't have to wait long to resume their celebrations as Gnabry pressured Dortmund's Dan-Axel Zagadou into a bad pass in the 34th. The ball fell for Thomas Muller, who set up Lewandowski for his 33rd goal of the season.

Can converted a penalty to revitalize Dortmund hopes early in the second half, when the visitors played with much more urgency.

But a possible second penalty wasn't given despite Pavard bringing down Jude Bellingham while attempting to reach the ball.

Haaland again went close for Dortmund before Musiala sealed the result — and the title — in the 83rd.

<b>Matthijs de Ligt: Bayern Munich sign Juventus defender for £65.6m</b>

Bayern Munich have signed the Netherlands defender Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus on a five-year contract in a deal worth 77m euros (£65.6m).

De Ligt joined Juventus from Ajax on a five-year contract in July 2019 and spent three seasons with the 36-time Serie A champions.

The 22-year-old won one Serie A title and one Coppa Italia in 117 appearances in Turin.

"I'm very happy to become a player for this great club," said De Ligt.

"FC Bayern is one of the most successful clubs in Germany, one of the most successful clubs in Europe and in the world."

"I felt the genuine appreciation from the sporting management, the coach and the board right from the start, which convinced me. On top of that, it is a brilliantly run club with big aims.

"I'm very glad that I'm now becoming part of the FC Bayern story."

Bayern's transfer record is the 80m euros (£68m) paid to Atletico Madrid for defender Lucas Hernandez in 2019.

Wanted by Chelsea, De Ligt became the second Dutch international to join Bayern this summer after midfielder Ryan Gravenberch's transfer to the club.

Bayern have also bought Sadio Mane from Liverpool and right-back Noussair Mazraoui from Ajax, while striker Robert Lewandowski is poised to join Barcelona.

What happened lol. I haven't bothered to follow the Bundesliga, but looking at the table, they are only one point behind the team that loves to lose their lead; BvB.

And they are in the champions league quarter-finals.

Sadio Mane punched Leroy Sane in bust-up after Bayern Munich's defeat to Man City

Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane punched team-mate Leroy Sane in the face after Tuesday's Champions League defeat at Manchester City.

Sky Germany report that Sane's lip was bleeding after the altercation and the two players needed to be separated by their fellow team-mates in the dressing room.

The duo were seen on the pitch arguing in the latter stages of the match on Tuesday night, where City beat the German champions 3-0 at Etihad Stadium in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final first leg.

After landing back in Munich, Mane, who was a substitute for the tie, was picked up privately from the airport while Sane took the team bus.

Bayern Munich have not commented on the incident.

Sadio Mane: Bayern Munich suspend forward after claims he punched Leroy Sane

Bayern Munich have left Sadio Mane out of their squad for Saturday's league match against Hoffenham amid reports he punched team-mate Leroy Sane.

Reports in Germany alleged Mane hit Sane in the face following Tuesday's 3-0 Champions League defeat by Manchester City at Etihad Stadium.

The pair reportedly had to be separated by team-mates after the altercation.

Bayern said Senegal forward Mane has been dropped because of "misconduct" and confirmed he will also be fined.

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel said the Bundesliga title race is over after his side suffered a 2-0 home defeat by Borussia Dortmund.

Goals from Karim Adeyemi and Julian Ryerson gave Dortmund their first Der Klassiker victory since 2019.

The defeat leaves Bayern 13 points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen, who beat Hoffenheim earlier on Saturday.

Asked if Bayern were out of title contention, departing boss Tuchel said: "Obviously, yes."

He added: "After today's game there is no more need to count points. How many is it now? Congratulations to Leverkusen."

Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has confirmed he will stay at the club next season, ending speculation he could succeed Tuchel at Bayern or join Liverpool.

Bayern in advanced talks with Burnley over Kompany

Bayern Munich are in advanced talks with Burnley over the shock appointment of Vincent Kompany as their new coach.

The Bundesliga side believe Kompany wants to join them and the two clubs are aiming to agree on a compensation fee.

It is believed Kompany, 38, would take his Clarets backroom staff with him to Munich, including former Wales international Craig Bellamy.

Bayern have struggled to find a replacement for Thomas Tuchel, whose exit was confirmed last week after initially being announced in February.

Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso, Germany chief Julian Nagelsmann and current Austria coach Ralf Rangnick have all turned down the job.

Talks about persuading Tuchel to stay on failed to reach a positive conclusion, leaving Bayern with a problem.

Kompany has built a decent reputation in his time at Anderlecht and Burnley, although the Clarets' relegation following lofty pre-season expectations has not reflected well on the Belgian.

He speaks German, having played in the Bundesliga for Hamburg.

Kompany signed a five-year contract extension at Burnley in 2023 but refused to answer questions about his future after Sunday's home defeat by Nottingham Forest.

Kompany, a four-time Premier League winner as a player with Manchester City, became Burnley manager in June 2022 in his first managerial role in England, having previously been in charge of Anderlecht.

Burnley minority shareholder and former NFL player JJ Watt posted a cryptic message on X on Wednesday night, saying: "People often ask if European football ownership helps fill the adrenaline void from playing...

"There are definitely days."

A move to Bayern 'too enticing' - analysis

Kompany, who has always spoken about the Burnley project, signed a contract last May committing him to the club until 2028. But a move to Bayern - one of the most prestigious clubs in the world - looks to have proven too enticing.

The Bundesliga giants clearly have not been put off by Burnley's relegation and he seems to fit the profile of a head coach who plays a possession-based game.

Kompany will have the task of winning back the Bundesliga title from Bayer Leverkusen and looking to add the first pieces of silverware to the mantelpieces of England internationals Harry Kane and Eric Dier.

Burnley, meanwhile, will now turn their attentions to a successor with Steve Cooper and David Moyes available, while Coventry boss Mark Robins has also previously been linked with the club.

Bayern 'already feels like home' - Kompany

Vincent Kompany says Bayern Munich "already feels like home" after being unveiled as the manager of the German Bundesliga club.

Bayern confirmed Kompany, 38, had been handed a three-year deal on Wednesday, replacing Thomas Tuchel.

The Belgian suffered relegation from the Premier League with Burnley in 2023-24.

"My mentality is that I never haven't ever worked for a top club in my head," Kompany said.

"A top club is the environment you create. It's the mentality you have towards your job in good and bad times, that's what defines working at the top level.

"It already feels like home."

Kompany began his managerial career with Anderlecht - the club where he also started his playing career.

He led them to the Belgian Cup final in 2021-22 before leaving at the end of that season to take the reins at Burnley.

After guiding the Clarets to the Championship title with 101 points and securing promotion to the Premier League in his first season, Kompany was unable to avoid an immediate return to the second tier as they finished 19th last term.

Bayern finished third in the Bundesliga last term, halting their run of 11 successive titles as they fell 18 points short of champions Bayer Leverkusen.

The Bavarian outfit ended a campaign without a trophy for the first time since 2011-12.

"I'm eternally motivated, I wake up from the morning to the evening motivated with the intention to make everyone around me better," added Kompany.

"I'm not defined by the successful years in my life, it's the moments I had tough times.

"I don't want to be successful on my own I want to bring as many people with me, that's in my nature."

Kane scores as Kompany starts Bayern reign with win

Harry Kane was on the scoresheet as Bayern Munich thrashed second-division Ulm in the German Cup in manager Vincent Kompany's first match in charge.

England captain Kane made it 4-0 to Bayern late on after two first-half goals from Thomas Muller and a late strike from Kingsley Coman, which ex-Crystal Palace midfielder Michael Olise assisted.

Kompany left Burnley for Bayern in the summer after the German side suffered their first trophyless campaign since 2012.

Twenty-time winners Bayern have failed to make it past the quarter-finals of the German Cup since winning the treble in 2019-20.

Ulm were promoted to the second division last season for the first time in 23 years.

Have you gone to early?

Have you gone to early?
Kompany is getting Bayern back to winning ways in the league, so even if he doesn’t go far in Europe this season, he is not getting sacked. Amjid was completely off the mark with his prediction that he’ll be gone in 12 months, no chance.

Then again, when is he not off the mark?

Have you gone to early?

Kompany is at fault for the loss against Villa but this Barca team is unreal and for me they're one of the two favourites to win the CL. Raphina on current form is no less than Vinicius Jnr. He's at the top of his game. It's so unfortunate that we lost out to Barca when he left Leeds.
