Australia are looking to pounce after a wonderful day yesterday.
Ponting will be looking to declare around the 500 mark just before tea.

Hopefully Gilly will come in and make a quickfire 50 or so.

more of the same from oz! hussey will accelerate undoubtedly. England in a precarious position, if aus get to anywhere near 550, aus will put england under so much pressure that i reckon they will crumble

3/356 after about 10 mins of play.

Some cracks in the surface of the wicket which have opened up.

LOL at Harmy - first ball on the SECOND day is also a wide!!! :)))

What the hell has happened to Harmi?

How long before he follows Tresco home?

Hahaha ... what a joke this ashes series is going to be ... England competitive. You kidding me right. I can see a innings defeat coming on right about now, with Warnie getting another 10fer.

this was not Sami
harmi1uz6.jpg

More lively pitch today it appears.

Don't feel so bad about having Sami in the squad after watching Harmison

wait a min.....did Fred just go out and then came back on the field? ok let's face it that is quite unfair! This isn't the NBA where you can ask for time out and discuss the strategy with the coach....

the English bowlers usually leave the field before bowling.
another wide :)

wathing harmison is like watching charlie hodgson at rugby, theve both got the talent but their temperament on the big stage is very questionable

Geoff Boycott ripping into Harmison again in the commentary - calling him RUBBISH!!!

what the heck? this comm thinks that G Jones should stand in the gully! :))
that must be sky commentators. Channel 9 with mostly Australians are handling it pretty well. don't want to pump up the English I guess :26:

Boycott follows up by saying 'Harmison has been bowling RUBBISH for months!'

2 weeks ago i read somewhere that on the 23rd Harmi will prove that he's one of the best in the world!

98.6 Harmison to Ponting, 1 wide, very wide, Jones spills it but he had to go a long way to get it in the first place. The crowd are amused but this is a good bowler undergoing a personal horror show

Another stat. Ian Botham has said "Harmison needs to bowl more" for the 100th time this morning

Harmison again. "Flintoff should just bowl him till his knees bleed and hang the consequences," says Miller. That from a man who is hobbling after a collision with a shower door earlier.

cricinfo commentary

I can imagine how Beefy is feeling....he was talking more trash than the players!

Beautiful cover drive for 444444444444 from Hussey.

current Ponting stats -
106 Matches 8946 runs 59.24 Avg
reaching some milestones there. Avg will probably go down a little if he gets out

LOL I just realised that I can watch both the OZ or the Pom commentary via Willow - I'll put myself on Sky for a while just to listen to the Pom commies slitting their wrists. :)))

Only commentary worth listening to is Sir Geoff Boycott currently slitting the English players wrists!

Phoarrrr Channel 9 are interviewing Lara Bingle, who's the model for Australia's current tourism campaign. :27: :27: :27:

i don't think Boycott is that good of a commentator...better than many but still not that great...to me he is far too negative!

Boycott tells it like it is. doesn't care about being diplomatic or being politically correct

102.1 Harmison to Ponting, no run, wide and Ponting has to stretch to reach it. "Harmison couldn't hit an elephant from 20 paces?" was Jeff Thomson's assessment earlier. Guess it depends on the size of the elephant.

102.4 Harmison to Ponting, 1 run, short and leggish, Ponting hooks fine and Joyce fields at fine leg. Joyce? Who's off now?

Giles, it seems. This fielder rotation is really taking the biscuit

102.6 Harmison to Hussey, no run, another wide one. Bucknor doesn't call it but probably because his arms are getting tired

Hoggard into the attack to replace Anderson. The ECB have some serious questions to ask about the daft itineraries they agree to. It's one thing not overbowling key players, but this is ridiculous. Almost all the bowlers are underprepared.

(drinks break and cricinfo commentator change but did they change?)

Thanks Martin, and thanks Will. Hello everyone and welcome wherever you are - there's probably a fair few of you hiding in that drinks cart. Shaped like a big drinks bottle (see what they did there) that cart is huuuge. I wonder if it's got anything in it other than drinks, perhaps a radar for Harmison... certainly wouldn't go amiss. Poor lamb.

cricinfo having some fun

She was in an ad for the Ashes. They had players from both teams then they had her wearing a bikini and pads. :))

Flintoff bowled a monster ball to Ponting but not given.

a sharp shooter up Pontings shoulder. was there an edge? Mark Taylor seems to think so as there was a noise
402-3

Problem is, Flintoff has become the only bowler that looks like taking a wicket. That wouldn't have been the case if Panesar had been picked ahead of Giles.

Panesar should have been there but Flintoff need Harmisson more to take advantage of the bounce and his height. they can trouble the batsman

Hussey clean bowled for 86 - Freddie - who else!

OZ now3/407, Ponting 168, Hussey 86.

As I type, Hussey goes for 86, clean bowled by Flintoff. OZ 4/407.

Superman strikes again! 3 wickets now for Freddie.

Freddie Flintoff is special. And that sums that up.

big shout for ct behind for Clarke. Bucknor says no. good decision
very good over. England needs a few more of those
407-4

Hotspot Camera apparently failed to show an inside edge from the Dubya shout.
