First Ashes Test: Aus V Eng [Day 2]

Still reckon the pitch is flat? :D
a very 'fair' pitch....good batsmen(Ponting,Hussey) scored runs....good bowlers (Mcgrath, Flintoff) are taking wickets! that's how it should always be

Which do you guys think is the best commentary?
I have not heard Sky Sports but I am liking 9's as I have the last 6 years.
I like the hot spot camera. It is very good.

Lee just cannot buy a wicket against the Pommies eh. I still think he's overrated as a Test bowler. Fast, but overrated.

News for die-hard English fans in Brisbane

"Tickets for the fifth day of the Test on eBay are attracting a top bid of $2" chirps Brett Taylor.

Channel 9's all right. They generally give credit to the opposition and make some generally educated comments (morons like Greig and Lawry notwithstanding). I couldn't stand listening to Sky last year, what with Bob Willis and Beefy gloating every couple of minutes.

Richie Benaud - good and understated
Ian Chappell - bit arrogant but ok
Michael Slater - good and down to earth
Ian Healy - smug and arrogant but makes good comments
Mark Taylor - bit full of hot air
Mark Nicholas - a classic "let's hold hands and sing kumbaya" bloke
Bill Lawry - moron
Simon O'Donnell - ok
David Gower - one of my favourite Pom commies

Not sure who I left out.

They dropped him over a year ago....

For sky we have Gower, Hussein, Lloyd, Holding, Botham, Atherton then have had a combo of Healy, Slater, Tubby as the aussie comm

Sky have Botham so Channel 9 wins despite the best efforts of Bumble.

they make the game exciting...they are like horse race commentators!

Warne into the attack to have a go at his Saffer mate.

I don't mind Gower, he's my favourite Pom commie. Holding is close to my favourite commie. Nasser is ok. I can't stand Beefy or Athers. Is Boycs commentating as well?

Geez, I hope KP doesn't punish Warney.

Always a bit of theatre when Warney bowls. :)))

LOL KP was trying to hit that into the members' stands.

No, he's never done Sky

so there is a new law.... you are only allowed to play half an hour after the scheduled close of play....that's why we lost 6 overs today! What's the logic behind this law?

And that's stumps. England finish on 3/53, with McGrath (2) and Clark the wickt-takers. Bell 13*, KP 6*, in response to OZ 9/602 declared.

I'm off to bed - see you all tomorrow.

I think it's to do with some Brisbane regulation. Either that or it stuffs up the prime time telecasting of the news and other programs.

oh well..we will look at it tomorrow!

alright folks see you later It's 2:35 am :28:

England are way behind. Trail by around 550 runs, and have lost 3 wickets already. An uphill task, to say the least.

Hope we see some Pietersen vs Warne showdowns tomorrow.

Yeah its a new law that they hav introduced. I dont think they want players playing when its dark and they are under the lights.
