Game of Thrones
I agree the two main characters of this show Jon and Dany deserved better actors. Although Dany has improved this season. The greatness of the show is hampered by these two average actors.

Martin said that 20 odd characters who were dead in the show would be alive in his books.

I think his upcoming books will get more attention and probably more money because of GOT.

That's why to give it a proper ending and wrap things up producers are finding it really hard.

Btw, Ramin Djawadi deserves all the credit for awesome music throughout the series. It won't be same without his efforts. His work on WestWorld is also amazing.

Cannot agree more.
And they are making 2.4 and 2.5 respectively MUSD per episode.

the best episode in history of the show by far. jaw dropping stuff!

Littlefinger "twist" was predictable and we knew about Jon but the last 15 minutes were awesome. Cersei did a great job too.

The fact that Jon and Dany did it really makes things interesting because they will eventually find out, maybe even in the first episode of season 8. Wonder how they'll react. I have a feeling there might be a rift between the 2 about who sits on the throne. Also, I don't get where Jaime went after leaving cersei? Is he going to dany all by himself to fight along side her?

Just read an interesting article about Jon's future. Specifically to do with his character

His honesty has even prevalent throughout the show but it was emphasized most in this episode. This tells me that when he finds out that he is the rightful person to sit on the iron throne, he will feel that it is his duty. This further emphasizes my previous point that he will go as far as to fight with Dany for it.

Great episode but not even close. Stip being a blind fan.

as usual stop being uptight over the movies and shows that you like

You are not an authority and i don't care about your irrelevant opinion. mind your own business if you can :)

you come across as a try hard wannabe. don't embarrass yourself.

Best episode in the shows history? Even you won't agree with this statement after a re watch or after a few hours. This is just the post episode excitement after that large scale ending and the amount of significant events that took place. It happens after every such episode. I come off as a try hard wannabe? :jimmy

stupid theory as expected :)))

he won't fight with daenerys and he won't sit on the iron throne

he is the prince that was promised: the azhor azhai reborn who will bring justice in the long night with a light sword called lightbringer

the original azhor azhai had to make a sacrifice which was to plunge the sword into his lover's heart to unleash the swords true power

which means that daenerys might sacrifice herself for the greater good and let jon plunge the sword into her heart so that he can defeat the night king

george martin has hinted many times that the show will have a "bitter sweet" ending which means it will be too perfect if both jon and daenerys live to the end

but the idea that they will end up fighting for the throne is nonsense and will never happen

That Cersei Tyrian reunion was an amazing scene. Thought Jaime was gonna die for a second tbh. Thank god he didn't. Him leaving kings landing is kinda annoying. I wanted him to directly betray cersei but if you step in his shoes, you can see why he didn't. He loves her too. Also, I wonder how they are gonna fit so much in the last season with the mention of the golden company and all. Hopefully euron is killed before he gets to the golden company. Don't really want another army to be introduced..

this is my opinion and i don't know why you are getting itchy about it

yes you try very hard and always try to act as if you are some certified critic and only your opinion on movies and tv shows matters

some times it won't hurt if you mind your own business and let others voice their views which are not any less important than yours

don't wish to engage with you further but please stop being annoying :)

Please use spoiler tags atleast for a few more hours.

I'm not saying that they will get into a huge fight but I strongly feel there will be an argument because dany wants the throne more Han anything and when Jon finds out it's his he will feel he must sit on it. Also, Bran talking about this over the two of them doing it could possibly be foreshadowing that there will be trouble in paradise. Just what I feel. Let's see who is right

and there will be no iron throne in the end

the destruction of the iron throne and the destruction of the wall has been obvious from the beginning

the cersie deanerys tyrion and the dead man scene was magnificent but they missed an opportunity by not giving varys a few lines especially when he betrayed the Lannisters and left with tyrion but cersei didn't say a word to him which i felt was unnatural.

also i don't like how little influence varys seems to have had this season. his delivery and mannerism is the best in this show and he needs to be more prominent

That is basically Stannis, not Jon snow.

In the books and a little in the show it was explained that both are very alike but Stannis is prepared to do anything for the greater good or his duty while Jon has some limits/compassion

My prediction is that one of Jon or Dany will die by the end of season 8, most likely Jon

Idk for some reason I just sense there will be a slight rift between the 2. Also, when Jon finds out he's related to dany there's no way he's going to continue any romance with her. He just isn't that kind of guy. Things are really starting to complicate here.

Atleast the arya/Sansa/littlefinger stuff is kind of settled now. Littlefingers death gave some nice closure. I just really wanna know what Jaime is planning now. Also, how will theon and his small band of men take on eurons navy? Again, really hope euron dies before bringing the golden company into it. Don't want a new army to get involved at the end of the show.

pakistanigoneaussie

Jon is similar to stannis, yes but I agree that he isn't as extreme as him. If stannis were in jons place and found out he was the rightful heir he would probably ask dany to bend the knee or kill her. Jon will ask her to do the same, but in a much nicer way :p Let's wait and see. There's no way there isn't going to be trouble in paradise. Either they have a falling out or one of them dies and the other sits on the throne.

Jon will most likely abdicate or sacrifice himself vs the night king

Its well establish he has no desire for power

Yes that's a possibility as well but I strongly feel that once he finds out he has a claim to the throne, he will want to sit on it even though he isn't power hungry. He only rules to protect his people

Bit disappointed with Tyrion this season who is the heart of the show. Hopefully has a major role to play in the last season. One reason why season 4 was my favourite is because of how important Tyrion was in it

Another excellent episode.

Was starting to think Littlefinger was indestructible. At last!

Glad to see Jaime stand up to his sister, and some fight in Theon.

As for the Wall.... saw that coming last week. In the immortal words of Richie Benaud: "Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear....."

Strong episode. Not in the absolute top A+ tier of GoT, but a solid A-minus.

Finale predictions: Jon lives and rules as a benevolent King, Dany dies whilst fighting the Night King who also dies, Jon retains the one surviving dragon (Rhaegal) as his protector; Jaime kills Cersei, the Mountain kills Jaime, and finally The Hound kills the Mountain in the "CleganeBowl" - The Hound and Brienne then live out their days peacefully in Winterfell, as do Sansa and Arya; Greyworm leads the King's Guard; Tyrion is Hand of the King; Theon dies battling Euron, significantly weakening his uncle in the process - Yara then kills Euron and becomes Queen again; Samwell succeeds Jim Broadbent as Grand Maester; Bran's omniscient breadth of vision protects Jon from plots and threats forever.

A TV series should stick to 1 hour long episodes and no more. Littlefinger's execution scene was very anticlimactic. Given the things he's done, he deserved a more brutal send off. I have no idea why Jon Snow has become such a coward. The guy playing him is a terrible actor. If you want to play a quiet hero, lean from Sean Bean, someone who was happy to smile, happy to show more than 1 miserable face. I watched a movie called Brimstone this weEk, Jon Snow is in that and he's even worse there.

They don't know what they're doing. Lord Varys and Littlefinger up until this point have been far and away the two most intriguing characters. Littlefinger is very much a darker character but there's the potential for Lord Varys to be even more dark. Hopefully they cut as much scenes with Jon Snow and Dragon Lady out as possible and replace with Lord Varys and Tyrion next season cause I'm sick of seeing them. They are bad actors who are getting credit because of the show. We know how bad they are because of the other stuff they've done.

Episode was brilliant, probably the best in a somewhat disappointing season...could've been even better had the leaked plot not been leaked all over the internet. I didn't even watch the promo for this episode, to try and surprise myself all I could remember was what hadn't yet appeared from the original s7 trailer.

I expected the death that happened and also that final scene. smh, I need to stay away from the internet and theories wrt to GOT S8, if I am to ever enjoy the show like I did from seasons 1-5. Still the greatest ever tv show.

That's not in line with his character at all. He doesn't want power. He did not want to be king of the north, but was chosen. He did not conspire or actively tried to achieve it.

Also he is the one trying to talk sense into people to forget their personal fights and join for the greater danger and suddenly he will change just because he finds out he is true heir to the kingdom?

Nah that theory is pretty weak.

The main thing in season 8 will be to fight the knight king and once the time comes for either Jon or Dany to sit on the throne one of them will be dead.

Why did Tyrian look upset standing outside when Jon and Dany were turning it on?

Don't think he wants Dany to get distracted. He's shown it all season. I don't think he has any romantic feelings for her so it's not jealousy

This season has been the best. It's had everything except dialogue - which I must admit I do miss. I feel like they could've made this season an episode longer to include better dialogue - but then again they wouldn't be as entertaining. I also feel the shortening of episodes for more action meant storylines were horrible - such as Littlefingers, Tyrion hardly had any dialogue, not much from Brienne, where's Varys, etc. I just feel like it's all been on "fast forward" which can be used as an argument on why S7 was a bit disappointing.

Overall though, I feel like they did a decent job - killed off "excess characters" and their storylines to which S8 will be solely focused on NK, Jon, Dany, Cersei. So it's understandable why they made S7 how they did.

But WOW, finale was immense. If rumours are true that S8 will be in 2019, I'll be crying haha

maybe not.. this is GoT

the knight king might just kill off everyone, or the more likely outcome imo is knight king loses to Jon / Danny - but both of them end up dead... someone like Sansa ends up as queen

Great episode!!!
Having watched the entire box set (including this season) for the first time in around 5 months I'm gutted we'll have to wait until next year for season 8..

Anybody had that oh sheeet moment when Cersei signaled to Mountain to end Jaime, but Jaime is a badsass himself he just walked away nonchalantly.

It might even be the year after.

What is left for Sansa and Arya? Their role is now only limited to providing support to Jon/Bran?

Frankly speaking I am not that impressed. Could Jon and Danny not find affection for themselves as aunt/nephew? Will this relationship have a real purpose to the plot and the ending?

Now, with little finger also gone I hope they give proper attention to characters of Tyrion, Lord Varys.

It seems to me that with only 6 episodes to go, the show will go one dimensional with action and absence of any lively conversations or scheming.

I feel there have been two many scenes in couple of episodes where producers try to shock us with sudden unveiling of events, Dany's two surprise attacks, NK's sudden killing of dragon and raising of wall, similarly Arya/Sansa's surprise to Little finger. These sudden events should be spread out in timeline otherwise these leave very less impact.

Emilia Clarke acted decent this season but Jon Snow is very unimpressive. So, it is my understanding the next season every thing will depend upon action and thrill.

As i said earlier that these moments are becoming way too routine for the show. There was one earlier scene with Tyrion too where producers tried to generate tension but i had been feeling since previous couple of episodes that no good guys were going to die in this season anymore.

That's what I was thinking, that no major kills had happened maybe this is the show's way of going back to how it used to be, but sadly it all petered out quite meekly.

There is nothing in last 7 seasons that suggest Jons want throne of any kind, deserving or not....He did not even went for election of Lord Commander, people suggested his name in the last minute...He offered Sansa first the Queen of the North Job, he is not even doing that Job, working on building Army for Great War...He is also not big on blood, you can see theme all around changing, its not about houses, blood, but about living and dead, I don't see that changing...

Plus Jon and Danny are one family and will be married to each other, they are the only Targaren left in the world, they both get the title of King and Queen, what is the point of fighting? - Well, if they both survive The Great War, there is no point of thinking about throne before that war, specially for Jon, he had not thought about anything else other than defeating Knight King since he saw him at Hardhome!!

According to some fans
Arya will have a very important role, Jaqen H'ghar will give her final task to kill cersei

That's what I was thinking, that no major kills had happened maybe this is the show's way of going back to how it used to be, but sadly it all petered out quite meekly.

Yes, the show has always relied on sudden change of events and surprises. Be it red wedding, death of Jeoffery or Oberyn Martel. But this surprise element went over board this season within the space of few episodes. Dany's rides, little finger's demise, Jamie's close encounter with drogo, 2 or 3 close shaves for good guys around dragon pit. And i might be forgetting couple of other so called cliffhangers.
During the fight with NK, beyond the wall, despite listening to all the eerie background music i was 100 percent sure that Jon is no where near any risk. This had been becoming all too predictable. Only real emotional scenes were Jon and Dany's growing incestuous relationship. Thank God it's over.

There are reports that each of those 6 episodes of next season could be of a feature film's length. I think it is a good revenge from HBO on their actors :)) The cast earns thousands of dollars per episode so they better make it worth it.

Guys his real name isn't John Snow.

Of course, everyone knows that now, however John Snow is now an icon of popular culture with his coming back from the dead, long black hair, fur collar and dodgy northern accent. He is the face of GoT. "Aegon Targyrean" (sp) just does not roll off the tongue like John Snow does. He has been known as John Snow for 7 seasons of TV across 6 years, and even if they try and change his name in the show, the public will only know him by that first, famous and simple moniker.

One for the ages had it all and then some. An absolute masterpiece from beginning to end. Certainly made up for the shoddy one last week. This episode and this season moves to the top of the pile for me. Only bummer is that it was a bit hurried and episode six could have been done a lot better. Now the long wait begins for the last six episodes.

untitled-106.gif

There’s quite a wait for the bluray release as well by the looks of it. According to Amazon the release date is around mid December. Should be amazing on the big screen tho with the dragons and atmos audio and all.

Didnt like the ending there is a clear difference between george rr martin's vision and the show writers. I feel that if george rr martin had finished the books things would be much different.

it was a good finale but most of it was predictable. I have to admit last season's ending was much better with the shock and awe value.

all that being said, I enjoyed the strong scenes Tyrion got. Varys has been completely cut out it seems. thoroughly enjoyed the ending LF got and now its on to the wait for the next season.

P.S: oi Joni boi, phoophi noo te baksh dey, haramdia!

Worst season ever, Dues Ex Machina anyone?

Mind you, when I say I hate this season its still a 100 times better then any other show out right now.

I just hold GOT to another level due to the first few seasons being so wonderful.

I feel the show started to drop a level once the show stopped going by GRRM's book storyline. (so around season 5).

It just goes to show what a great writer GRRM is. D&D just can't compare and it shows with the constant holes in the story and lack of realism.

A little disappointing. Totally predictable with only Cersie being the star performer.

Anyone who thinks this is the greatest tv show of all time is only into the hype.

Anyone who thinks Cersie is the greatest tv villain of all time is clearly losing his marbles .

The pace was far too quick this season.

Although it was rushed but was still entertaining and the finale was very decent.

Let's hope the Final season will be an epic one but this time they concentrate more on the plot and build up.

Cersei would be the best villain in a Pakistani drama, she has all the scheming, lying, manipulating of a Pakistani woman right down to an art, I think she is a Pakistani on the inside. She was a terrible wife, mother, saas and I'm sure bahoo. Apart from the incest part, I would say she would fit right in on a Pakistani soap

Cousin marriages are quite prevalent in Pakistani dramas so that part is not far off either

Are you seriously equating cousin marriages with brother-sister incest?

And it's not a Pakistani thing. It's in all Muslim countries, cousin marriages are allowed but incest is not ok.

You are trying to make us look like the Targaryens, NOT COOL!!!

Next season not likely gonna air before 2019 :/ pakistanigoneaussie any chances of GRRM showing mercy on us and dropping winds of winter before that to ease the pain a bit?

I think it has been the best season since season 3. Seasons 4 and 5 were snoozefests at times. Finally it is picking back up.

They should be glad they have all this money pouring in to create CGI spectacle masking glaring weaknesses of the story for most people

I have stopped bothering trying to predicit it

every year since 2014 i have heard its coming out, every years its been delayed

A part of me reckons he just wants the show to finish before he releases the next book

Watching it all the way through again now. Almost forgot how good Season 1 was. Littlefinger, Varrys and Tyrion in the majority of scenes, and greatly missed characters like King Robert, Khal Drogo and Ser Berrison on show.

Well according to Ibrahimic religion, we are descendent of Adam and Eve, so all of us are Children of Incest, many people around the world believe that story to be true and most of them don't think its an embarrassing...Thora bhoot Incest too her gayaga chalta hai ;-)

I agree, if Martin releases "The Winds of Winter", there will be some serious divergence from season 7, that could cause problem for both HBO and himself, why not have alternate story after the show, his fans will still buy the book... This also tells me, next season will be aired in 2018, Martin cannot wait for two more years...

Also, his following book is "A Dream of Spring", which suggest, there will be more to the story after 'the Great War', means divergence will be even more.

Are Starks responsible for Knight King crossing the wall?

In last two season, two main events had allowed Knight King to cross the wall. First, Knight King was able to touch Bran Stark, that allowed him to break the wall magic, he could go where Bran could go. Secondly, Jon Snow went on a crazy mission, that allowed Knight King to kill a Dragon, that Dragon was main instrument in bringing down the wall so easily... They both had less wisdom and thought process in there approach, both did not study their enemy that well, more emotional than tactical...

This is like what happens at home, you try to become handy man and fix plumbing, screwing more than what was there initially, end up costing you double the money. Or like what US did in Iraq war, Or British handing over Arab to Wahabis after first WW, who started the arm race of extremist within muslim culture...

Other question is, Does Martin also have same view on this; Bran and Jon's mistakes gave more power to Knight King?

Viserion looks epic as an ice dragon even though he still breathes fire.

Good episode, loved the season, don't mind the pace at all, people were crying about it going too slow from seasons 5 to 6 so I don't see the problem.

I'm more interested to see how they will set-up the final duel when White Walkers are dealt with and Jon/Dany (if one or more survives) will face Cersei, Euron and the Golden Company.

Also one thing I didn't understand fully, why did Cersei hear Tyrion out in her chambers? Did she not have him killed because deep down she knew he was still her brother and her black heart still had a tiny speck of love left for him?

only a great fool would have killed tyrion in that situation

danny was there with her full army and dragons. had cersie killed tyrion danny would have burned the city and killed them all

she hates her brother with all her heart and would kill him the first opportunity she gets

This doesn't make sense. If night king just needed to put a mark on someone to break the magic of the wall then why didn't he simply put a mark on any person and let him cross the wall. He didn't need to wait all these seasons to put a mark on bran. He's come across many nightswatch men whom he killed way before meeting bran. He should've simply put a mark on any random person and let him escape. Don't think bran's mark has anything to do with breaking the magic of the wall.

Want to see the knights king destroying cities with his dragons in the first few episodes!
