George Headley was known as the Black Bradman. The guy only played 22 tests, scored 2000+ runs, scored 10 centuries averaged 60. In FC averaged 70. So how great of a batter and how influential George Headley actually was? Surely would have been an inspiration for the greats like Sobers.

A solid batsman with lot of potential , first person to score hundreds in both innings if I am not mistaken.

Great enough for his peers and contemporaries to rate him as a great. Same with the great Graeme Pollock.

Definitely one of the greatest. The first great batsman to come from WI.

Windies produced Weekes, Walcott and Worrell after this and then produced Garfield Sobers, Viv Richards and Brian Lara.
