I was just looking through the criteria I set out for player selection:

" Criteria regarding the players you can pick:
- For the test playing nations, they must have played a minimum of 30 ODIs
- If you are picking someone a batsman, then he must have played a minimum of 10 ODI innings at that position
- For the non-test nations, players must have played a minimum of 10 list A and/or ODI games"

There are many players from Zimbabwe who meet that criteria, so I do not think I will be changing the rules to the Zimb round. I know the quality of players will be quite low but then again you have a WI pick to balance that AND that's the hwole point about picking a world XI...pick a player from each country. Even if that country doesn't have the best quality.

HOWEVER, I have decided to change the last round to a free-for-all. That means anyone with a lacklustre pick in round 4 (or from Bang) can pick anyone from a nation of their choosing. All in all, we end up with teams representative of the world...the cricketing world anyway.

If people still want to pick an associate/non test player, that is fine.

It's true that I was interested to make his pick for 3rd round when he missed his Ind-SA picks. A lot of water has passed through under bridges since then. Still a temptation to fill in but I'm not sure whether I should or not. I think it will disturb last round strategies of some selecters if I start picking now.

Secondly, I am already committed to select an XI from unpicked pool with representation from at least 9 countries.
