Today i went to my sports store and picked up my gm original le pads.
These are the most sensational pair of pads ever.
They have an amazing wrap around feeling and they actually hug your leg :)
The have the top hat with leather
And aparrently are made of "real leather"
Even the areaat the bottom isleather.
The knee locator has velcro and is absolutly super
And the main padding is very good and reinforced.
Thes are hybrid pads a mix of cane and foam

And everypadding has a layer of a hard plastic for further protection.
Id def. Recomend these.
Ill ask cd to help me post my pics since i cant :(

Methinks excalibur was suggesting how it seems unfair for something to be a pro only thing, rather than questioning the validity of your statement CD.

not many leagues need colored pads and so there is a much smaller market to sell to. (Most ppl needing colored are on a good enough sponsorships anyways)

so mostly the companies don't bother....

Spot on....CD - I wasn't trying to put you down but rather commenting on how these manufacturers should have different options for amateurs like us.

I see your point, however, all leagues in Canada have gone with coloured kits and I am pretty sure that its the same scenario in US.

Its kind of disappointing to settle for a lesser quality product because one wants a coloured kit.

No worries its all good :)

I agree with you but then we need to keep in mind main revenue for these equipment companies is in UK and Australia and there they just need white gears.

Why don't you guys in Canada/US just get together with the president of your league and change the system??

The order has to be VERY big actually.

Rather than that what some retailers have done is have coloured pads in there company's range [like Hagee Sports, Khan Sports, CricMart etc]

To be honest, 90% of players here don't care about the brands like we forummers do.

I concur with the last statement....I haven't seen any players with high end pads/gloves or even bats this season. Canadian are very conservative with their cricket I guess...

In my old club there was this guy who would be still happy with his Slazenger V100 which is easily a decade old bat.

The president of that club is millionaire I'd say, drives Mercedes, has very good business etc yet the pads he uses are worst than Gray Nicolls 3* range bat he uses his 6+ years old, gloves are worn out etc so its not that money is a problem for him but as kali bhai said maybe they are too conservative with their cricket.

Couldn't you guys just buy clads? I realise it is an added expense but that's the easiest way to do it.
