PAK 330/7 decl'd GY 200/4 Chanderpaul 24* Ramdeen 4* Gul to start things for PAK from Regent Street End

The third session just started^

Tea break was going on for the last half an hour...

#PAKvGY:
PAK bowling to date:

Gul 9-4-14-0,
Riaz 16-1-73-1,
Ahmed 7-0-36-1 (1nb),
Rehman 15-1-43-0,
Ajmal 14-5-41-2

riaz too expensive, but i always say it's not good to judge fast bowlers based on practice matches, they rarely give 100%.

On the other hand, comparing ajmal and rehman's figures clearly shows that not only is ajmal the better wicket taker, but also his economy is no worse than rehman's (rehman usually known as containing bowler).

I hope Ajmal gets the nod for the 1st test ahead of Rehman.

AJ, i think they going to go with 2 spinners.

Thats a big risk going into a test with just 2 seamers. Also Hafeez can be used as a 2nd spin option if needed, so we shud just pick ajmal and leave out rehman.

WICKET! PAK 330/7 decl'd GY 239/5 after 67.4 overs. Ramdeen is bowled by Rehman for 25. Chanderpaul 42*

"WICKET!! PAK 330/7 decl'd GY 249/6 Chanderpaul is bowled by Zunaid Khan for 44"

I think they mean Junaid Khan...

Don't WI need 81 to win with 5 wickets in hand and plenty of time?

I believe this is a two innings each match...

I could be wrong though...

in any case, GY only has like 40 minutes to make those runs.

I thought it was a 1 innings per side match. Thanks for clearing that.

I don't think the play will resume...

Good effort from the lads, we got some much-needed match practice.

Junaid, Gul & Wahab along with Ajmal should be bowlers for Test series. Wahab is just way too inconsistent and Tanvir can be drafted in if Junaid fails to perform.

12 players allowed in a side, 11 bat, 11 bowl.

That's not the issue.
This is the issue:
Gul 9-4-14-0, Riaz 16-1-73-1, Ahmed 7-0-36-1 (1nb), Rehman 15-1-43-0, Ajmal 14-5-41-2

61 overs bowled and no junaid, then he comes on?

i guess that's the end of the match. the other match has ended so there's no point in continuing with the pak match.

overall a decent effort. nothing spectacular nothing disappointing. bring on the tests!

i dunno man, maybe it was a typo, we don't exactly have the most reliable source...

End of the Match

PAK 330/7 decl'd
GY 252/6.

PAK Bowling:
Gul 11-4-33-0,
Riaz 16-1-73-1,
Ahmed 11-2-43-1 (2nb)
Rehman 18-2-50-1,
Ajmal 15-5-41-2,
Khan 2-0-5-1

so i guess, Junaid did bowl a couple of overs...

Anyways, Gul, Riaz, Ajmal, Khan should be the first choice attack along with Hafeez and Azam's part-time options.

so you want to drop Tanvir?

They should probably go with Gul, Junaid, Tanvir and Ajmal with Hafeez providing the 5th bowling option with Azhar who could bowl a few of his leggies in between too for a change if needs be!

two spinners..windies suck vs spinners

A good workout for the boys.

Wahab is a worry going for so much, wonder if they went after him or if he was just bowling pies?

Gulla and Tanvir did a fair job. Tanvir must improve his fitness and it would have been interesting to see how he ran in on the second spell. These two will be getting the new cherry and must hit the right areas since early wickets will be needed. Maybe Hafeez may get an early burst against Smith?

The batting looks good in this format. Umar Akmal will have a great chance to perform in his come back series.

^ Tanvir picked up 6 wickets on a flat wicket in Abu Dhabi, the bloke picks up wickets, forget pace.

If we had a batting allrounder who could bowl medium pace then we could play two spinners and two quicks but since we don't Tanvir, Gul and Wahab have to play.

maybe Azam can fill that spot but he still needs to work on his batting and bowling.

Azzam would be a perfect no.6 batsmen. I know he's young but has a good head on those shoulders. His batting technique is very good and his bowling is just what we need for the balance of the team.

Ye, it would be good to see him play at least 1 Test this series.

Play Tanvir in 1st test instead of Junaid. If Tanvir sucks in 1st test then replace him with Junaid in 2nd test. Simple.

Yaar what's the big issue here, it's only a warm up match. No1 wouldn't have minded even if Inti had bowled or big Butt for that matter.
