Hamza Shahbaz Sharif is neither Sadiq nor Ameen, says Ayesha Ahad

As the politics of allegations and mudslinging continues, Ayesha Ahad, reportedly former wife of Hamza Shehbaz, has claimed that the latter is neither Sadiq nor Ameen and that she also has text messages to prove that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) could not guarantee sanctity of women within the party.

The development comes a few days after PTI’s estranged leader and MNA Ayesha Gulalai accused party’s chief Imran Khan and his ‘gang’ of sending lewd text messages to female workers and harassing them.

Addressing a press conference with PTI leaders Firdous Ashiq Awan and Yasmin Rashid on Saturday, Ahad demanded that a committee be constituted for herself and Hamza just like the one formed by the National Assembly to probe the allegations levelled by MNA Ayesha Gulalai against PTI chief Imran Khan.

She said she has been knocking at the doors of courts for the last seven years but without any relief.

“When will Mian sahib set up a committee for the daughter-in-law of his own home,” Ahad questioned. “Isn’t there any law for Hamza?”

She said that Hamza is no more honest or truthful, declaring that she will go to ECP against him. She also appealed to the judiciary to form a committee to investigate her case.

Ahad said that she got married to Hamza in 2010 and he had claimed that he had divorced his wife Mehrunnisa. She said she has suffered many agonies during the last seven years.

“They used PML-N workers to torture me,” she said. “I also have messages of many persons.”

PTI leader Firdous Ashiq also addressed the presser, saying she has no political relation with Ahad.

“Ayesha has removed the garb from Sharif family’s face,” she added.

Yes, I quite agree. Started with Gualai than this. I think some PML-N supporters are now asking for Insaaf from IK regarding the illegitimate daughter from Sita White. Just mud slinging all over. No one will come clean out of this mess.

Once again, Army will side aside watching politicians bloody each other to death and then sweep in with a "Mere Aziz Hum Watnoon" speech. SC may even endorse such a move. A "technocrartic interim govt." under SC but protected by the Army to get the country back from the brim. Sab politicians ki chutti. They are all dirty. We need people donning clean starchy uniforms.

Having an illegitimate daughter is none of their business and especially considering it happened long before he started his political career, and they would have no idea of whatever set up and relationship Khan would have with his daughter, so that's really none of their business.

Finally after 7 years FIR registered against Hamza Shehbaz in Ayesha Ahad case, CJP Saqib Nisar ordered to register case against him for threatening Ayesha Ahad. FIR against Hamza Shehbaz was pending for last seven years. SC summons Hamza Shehbaz on June 29.

Now call it a deep state ki saazish for stopping Punjab police from registering a FIR against him because he is the crown prince of Punjab from last 10 years.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Mushir Alam and comprising Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Yahyah Afridi had resumed hearing the plea, which sought bail ifor Hamza in a money laundering and assets beyond means corruption reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The PML-N leader had approached the apex court in April 2020, two months after the Lahore High Court (LHC) denied him bail in the money laundering case but granted it in the Ramzan Sugar Mills case.

Hamza then sought bail on the grounds of being vulnerable to coronavirus in jail but the LHC did not agree with the grounds. Following this, the counsel withdrew the application and moved the apex court.

It may be added here that Hamza was arrested in June 2019 from inside the LHC in relation to two cases pertaining to money laundering and accumulating assets beyond means of income.

Today's hearing
During today's hearing, Justice Masood asked Hamza's counsel if he wanted to pursue the case on the basis of merit or hardship. Advocate Amjad Pervaiz said bail is being sought on hardship as his client is in jail.

Justice Masood questioned how the top court could hear the plea on hardship if there was no mention of it during the high court proceedings. To this, Pervaiz said the situation was different at the time. "There were no grounds for hardship at the time."

In his arguments, the counsel said no one can be indefinitely detained. "No reference had been filed against Hamza when he applied for post-arrest bail. The charges against my client were for Rs7 billion but the reference has been filed for Rs530 million."

Justice Afridi observed that it would be appropriate for the petitioner to approach the high court on the basis of the accountability court repot.

The apex court deposed of the petition after Hamza's counsel withdrew the application.
