"Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi & Dilbar Hussain can play for Pakistan for a long time": Chris Lynn

Lahore Qalandars centurion Chris Lynn speaking to the media:

"Maybe it took a bit of the pressure off without the crowd - it is a different feeling playing without the crowd"

"I would like to thank the crowd for coming out in our previous matches in Lahore and not just Lahore but also in Rawalpindi and Karachi - its been a phenomenal experience"

"Unfortunately in these difficult circumstances they cant be here (at the GSL) but I gave them a raise of the bat (after my hundred) even though there was nobody sitting at the seats"

"First and foremost we arent finishing last, The Qalandars, so well done boys"

"I am really proud of the overseas playing group of Lahore Qalandars because we have stuck together; We do have a player leaving tonight but he has a young kid and we have always said that family comes first in this franchise"

"When you play with the amount of passion that we do, you want to win for your team and your owners; If I go home, I will need to sit in isolation for 2 weeks so I'd rather be playing here hitting sixes and also brought up my 2nd hundred in T20s - I would have missed out on it if I had gone home"

"I thought about it the way I was going (take Ben Dunks's idea of chewing bubble gum)"

"He only gets to 90s, I get to hundreds" [joking in response to question asking if he can break Dunks record of sixes]

"Haris is a young guy and he's had a couple of niggles here and there; Everyone cant perform well in every game; Haris gets another opportunity in 2 days time to prove his worth and skills; He's already done that in the tournament and we know how good he is, and this is chance for him to back it up in the semi final"

"Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afrid and Dilbar Hussain are three quality bowlers who can play for Pakistan for a long time so if one of the boys fires in the match then as Qalandars we are pretty happy"

"Its always nice to score runs but I think I down in the pecking order now [referring to chances of playing for Australia]; I didnt have the Big Bash that I wanted to have; Just because I am not in the Aus cricket team doesnt mean I dont bat for them and I wish them all the best; If I dont get a gig with them. that's still OK as I will be there supporting the guys"

I just saw Dilbar bowling in a couple of matches and he was reversing the ball. Surprisingly speed gun showed him bowling at 145-148kph on certain deliveries. Not sure if that was correct or not but he was bowling well.

It was correct as he has bowled quite a few deliveries over 145 kph.

With a very short run up too.

What an abundance of pacers Pakistan have to work with. If they are smart, they will load mange them, sit their main ones out for weak series and hopefully have a proper rotation going.

Dilbar is a very good T20 prospect.

Keep an eye on him. Maybe some chances too.

I don't understand this interview. Isn't Lynn returning home now? He said the complete opposite in this interview?

Harris will be found out soon and not last too long at international level.

All of a sudden, we have bowlers who can bowl 140 plus easily. At present, I can count more than ten, who all have a decent sense of where to land the ball and how to set up a batsman. They must continue to work hard and not take anything for granted.

Dilbar has something but its early days. Needs to play more at this level but i like what i see. I would advise him to lengthen his runup by a few metres to give him a bit more momentum.

Harris is bowling too short on Phattas and this is where his rawness is being exposed.

Otherwise I agree with Lynn. These boys bowl with passion and anger also. Not sofities

I would love to see a Pakistan attack consisting of:

Shaheen
Dilbar
Rauf/Hasnain
Amir

Hasnain and Shaheen seem to be nice guys, they need to be fired up like Shaheen and Dilbar are and they would add an extra dimension to their bowling. Amir is a bit too aggressive, he intimidates his own fielders lol

Only shaheen has quality out of those 3

Shaheen of three years ago was as raw as dilber and Harris are today. With a bit of guidance and mentoring I think they can develop into fine bowlers. They have all the ingredients to be world class bowlers ...but so do wahab and Rahat Ali so it could go either way.

Shaheen - top class talent. Arguably world class already. He is better than Naseem and Amir and will lead our attack for many, many years.

Rauf - highly overrated. Basically a poor man’s Wahab Riaz. He might get a few international games but he will never be a Test class bowler.

Dilbar - A T20 specialist who at best would play 3-4 T20Is for Pakistan before fading away.

You know more about international cricket than Chris Lynn now?

Unfortunately, I am not naive enough to believe that Lynn means all of this and is not simply saying this because he is playing for Qalandars.

Anyway, if he genuinely believes that Rauf and Dilbar can play for Pakistan for a long time, then I am afraid to say that it is easy to understand why Lynn has no international future and why Australia does not rate him.

Rauf and Dilbar have as much as a shot to play a long time for Pakistan as anyone else. Do we have some Courtney Walshes and Glen McGraths in the set up who Lynn forgot to mention but mentioned these two instead?

Rauf and Dilbar are “officially” 26 and 27 and have 7 and 0 First-Class wickets respectively.

Are you really suggesting that they have as much a shot as anyone when it comes have playing for Pakistan?

Do you really want me to believe that these two are among the best bowlers Pakistan has to offer?

If that is true than Pakistan has bigger problems than I think, but who do I believe?

There is also another thread right now that talks about the luxurious riches of Pakistan’s fast bowling resources, but here we are hyping bowlers who are no spring chickens but have less First-Class wickets than Rohit and Kohli.

Pakistanis fans are indeed the funniest bunch of fans in the game. They really do live in a world of their own.

Haris and Dilbar can be T-20 mercenaries at best! Shaheen should not tagged along them. Shaheen's ceiling is much higher.
