Playing him today was a mistake. He's not fully fit yet.
Where are you getting this from?
Just need Irfan to partner Hasan and Amir and our pace attack will be complete.

No thanks, I'll take abbas for now who, while not being quick, can move the ball around. Irfan isn't much faster and doesn't have much skill with the ball, he's only being considered because he's tall. But the door shall be open for all, a couple or seasons in domestics and hopefully he'll learn.
You don't know what you're talking about lol.
From what I saw of him in the PSL he wasn't that fast (was in the low 130s,hit 140 but very seldom) and I certainly don't remember the ball moving an inch. Unless I am mistaken, show me a video.
You will see soon enough.
Can't wait to see his progress in test cricket
aloo paratha knows more then you.You will see soon enough.
Yea pitch is a disgrace to cricketBowled well. Made the batsmen play but didn't give away any easy runs either. Not much in this pitch for the pacers so don't expect him to run through the lineup.
How has he bowled, I've missed the days play thus far
Any news about his possible return to the field?

He is even shorter than Azhar Mehmood ? Not made for test, could do Ok in ODI and T20.
5'9-10How tall is Hasan Ali?
5'9-10
How tall is Hasan Ali?
Just checked, he's 5'7. At least that's what one of the websites say. However, I don't doubt it much because Azhar Mahmood is 5'9 and therefore, Hasan Ali is genuinely 5'7.
However, I don't think it should be too much of a problem. Tests will always be a weaker format for him though. He really needs to up his fitness and compromise for his height by consistently bowling at pace (which he can) or else, I don't see him being anything more than an LOI specialist - which isn't too bad either.
Lol, Azhar is not 5'9.
Honestly, why doesn't PCB just release accurate heights of its players!! It was save us a lot of time. Wikipedia says he's 1.8m - which I converted into feet.
Hasan has ended the career of Rahat, and hopefully Abbas keeps this up so that we don't see much of the 'enforcer' either.
AGRESSIVE isnt worthless in tests, the only format where this is the case. None the less this competition is only good and long overdue
Exactly.
It's been really depressing watching Hasan Ali overpitch every single ball to batsmen who can go onto the front foot before the ball leaves his hand.
The lack of height is killing him.
A fair comment.I still agree that height is a disadvantage but I still maintain what I said 8 months ago ie if he gains 5-7kph than he would succeed in all conditions and will have okayish time ie @35-40 on flat Aussie wickets.
I still believe he can become Right Arm Fast bowler.
Because He is short he will always need immaculate control over length.
A fair comment.
And I still say that he needs to work amazingly hard on his batting.
Between his lack of height and his lack of pace, he will not achieve a better Test bowling average than a Rahat-like 36.
So to secure his place in the team, he needs to be able to bat higher than Mohammad Amir.
Which means a Test batting average of at least 30, high enough to bat at Number 7 as the fifth bowler, with Sarfraz elevated to Number 6.

I don't think he can average significantly less than 36 with that height and pace.I don't think Hasan has capacity to become a Test Allrounder with batting numbers as you suggested. It would be great if he does become one.
I am fine with him batting at number 9 or 10. I don’t want him to be averaging 36 with thw ball after 15-20 Tests. Infact I would drop him after 5-6 Tests if he averages more than 40 with the ball. I expect him to do much better and Average 30-32 with the ball while if he adds 5-7 kph than He has the ability to average between 27-30.
A fair comment.

The shortest successful current Test quick is Dale Steyn.30 eh? With Shadab also vying for a place we will be blessed with not one but two Sobers in the team.
Rahat averages 37 because he is inconsistent and prone to spraying it around. He has never taken a 10
fer even in domestic FC cricket, while Hasan already has 10 fers, in half the number of games.
This Test
Mohammad Amir 32-15-40-2
Mohammad Abbas 35-13-58-5
Hasan Ali 26-6-43-1
Poor man's Ben Stokes? Are you serious? Hasan is already better than Stokes.I don't think he can average significantly less than 36 with that height and pace.
As a bowler he will be a very poor man's Ben Stokes or even Wahab Riaz: totally reliant on bowling Yorkers to reverse swing.
So as a bowler his limit is probably Mitchell Marsh.
But Marsh is 10 inches taller (yes TEN inches), 10 km faster and has been dropped for not averaging 40 with the bat!
He has 1 Test wicket.Poor man's Ben Stokes? Are you serious? Hasan is already better than Stokes.
Limit is Mitch Marsh?!? Hasan is already better than Marsh. 10 km faster?!?!? I think you mean 10 km slower.
Height is not as important as some make it out to be, and it should be marginal at best in determining a bowler's potential.
Hassan Ali and Amir are 2 world class bowlers mashallah..... and as my bro Chief Destroyer said, Irfan needs to debut and play alongside them.
He has 1 Test wicket.
Hasan Ali has no disadvantage in ODI cricket, where the rules basically mandate a uniform line and length.
But pace bowling in Tests is all about height, because it requires sharp lift from a full length to confuse the batsman as to whether to go forward or back.
Mohammad Amir's mediocre output since his return is because at 6'0 he is too short for modern Test bowling conditions. He spent the entire tours of England, NZ and Australia bowling 4 inches too short.
But Hasan Ali is 5 inches shorter than Amir!
To be frank, Amir is another whose shortness means that he needs to really improve his batting if he wants a long Test career. And his flirtation with retirement from Test cricket suggests to me that he knows it.
