It seems to be becoming a theme in the western world. Indians shouldn't be so shocked, they are not indiginous people so the locals will always turn at some point.

The uptick in discrimination and bigotry can be tracked across social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and X, often attached to the H-1B work-based visa.

H-1B visas allow for U.S. companies to employ foreign nationals who are often skilled in specific industries, such as tech. The majority of applicants for the H-1B come from India, with 71 percent of H-1B visa holders coming from India alone in 2024, according to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

During the 2024 election season, with two prominent women of South Asian background under the national spotlight, now-second lady Usha Vance and the Democratic presidential nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, faced public speculation regarding their identities.

Vance, who is the daughter of Indian immigrants, has faced online xenophobia while her husband has faced scrutiny for marrying her, the criticism rooted in white supremacist values.

The anti-Indian racism seen against politicians has impacted Indian and South Asian communities across the country.

According to the AAPI Equity Alliance's Stop AAPI Hate Report, more than 75 percent of anti-Asian slurs targeted South Asians between December 2024 and January 2025. Moonshot, a group that targets online terrorism, found more than 44,000 slurs targeting South Asians in extremist online spaces during May and June of this year.

Indian immigrants are docile and subservient but they lack hygiene. Eating with their hands in public transport, loud noises, not washing clothes, strong BO, unkempt nails and hair, bad accent all add to the negative image of the Ind diaspora in the West. They try to make up for it by drinking and partying but they are never accepted because of these fundamental flaws.

Take emirates or Gulf or Qatar Airline out of US and the whole plane stinks of Achar and Masala, don't know the fascination of Indians packing junk on a 11 hour flight.

You see people take out all kinds of small potions when lunch is served...

It's strange to me because our food is not too different in some ways but we never indulge in this kind of nonsense.

89 Indians On US' 'Worst Of The Worst' Criminal List Amid Trump's Immigration Crackdown

"These are the monsters who have terrorised our communities. We are not stopping until every single one of these people are GONE. Americans should not be victimised by people who aren't even legally allowed to inhabit our nation," the DHS said.

Washington:
As many as 89 people of Indian origin are on the US list of "Worst of the Worst" criminals. The database, launched by the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), lists around 25,000 "criminal illegal aliens," including murderers, sex offenders, and drug traffickers, arrested by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement and US Customs and Border Protection, and convicted, as part of President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown.

The publicly available database includes the names, pictures, crimes, and nationalities of those convicted.

In a social media post, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said the website (WOW.DHS.GOV) was launched "so Americans can see the criminal illegal aliens we are arresting, their crimes, and the communities we removed them from."

It said that the database has information on 25,000 individuals arrested. "This is just a SNAPSHOT of the criminal illegal aliens taken off the streets under the Trump Administration," it added.

"These are the monsters who have terrorised our communities. We are not stopping until every single one of these people are GONE. Americans should not be victimised by people who aren't even legally allowed to inhabit our nation," the DHS added.

Trump's Immigration Crackdown

Trump had promised a crackdown on illegal immigration during the election campaign and began his second term with a flurry of executive actions aimed at overhauling entry to the United States. On his first day in office, he signed orders declaring a "national emergency" at the southern US border, announcing the deployment of more troops to the area while vowing to deport "criminal aliens".

But immigration enforcement operations in several states have at times turned violent, leading to an uproar from Democrats and a growing number of Republicans. Senate Democrats are currently holding up Department of Homeland Security funding over a list of demands for reforms to ICE and CBP, including requirements that federal officers wear body cameras and IDs. The administration has also refused to budge on a demand that immigration enforcement agents not wear masks.

Absolutely right.

I have never seen Pakistan people get a cheese sandwich from the Airline, then take Achar out and put it in between cheese sandwich and eat it!

It's not an outrage by any means, I have people in my family who will add achar to a jacket potato. Weird I know, but you can't account for taste, and at least it's only at home.

Indian food tends to be a lot more heavily spiced and pungent than Pakistani though. They don't really do subtlety across the border, they add food to their spices, not the other way round.

The issue really is that these blokes do it everywhere! Even in flights. And Indian uncle have this habit of removing socks on a flight. Smells terrible.

Again speaking without knowledge. Honestly, why you do this knowing that I am watching every move here and there is no escaping?

India has 26 states and every state has different cuisine. I am from eastern part of India and we cook mild foods with very less spice. We even add sugar and jaggery in our curries. It is much less spicy than any Pakistani food and I have tried many.

It is true that India has wildly different cuisine but Indians do love their spices and we have experiences their behavior in flights and cafeterias.

Pakistani people don't do this sort of thing in public, you don't see Pakistani people bringing Masala food to work or school

Heck, there is a thread from a Pakistani guy on smell of Masala!

I don't even know why you are getting so defensive. I've seen Indians taking packed lunches to work with the weirdest stuff coming out of the tupperware. Take the lid off and it's like a masala fart bomb went off in the room.

Fair play to them though, they don't give a crap what anyone else thinks. I've seen them digging into their chawal and curry directly with their fingers. They are very practiced at it too. They will roll that stuff up and chuck it in their mouths in a blur of motion.

@Rajdeep maybe you can explain why Inds dig into curry and rice with their hands? I can understand if they are eating bread or naan bread but curry and rice?

As said Pakistanis for all their faults are not guilty of this hygiene torture. We once had an Indian guy junior IT backend who microwaved achar and daal and the place smelled like fart.

I know you are trying to act racist and all but its an ancient practice. Eating with hands aids in digestion as it stimulate digestive process even before the food reached the mouth. It is not because people dont know how to use spoon/fork or cant afford one.

Most countries in middle east, sits on floor and eat. Its not because they cant afford a dining table but it aids in digestion.

How much I need to teach you everyday? I may start charging now.

Waise, I dont eat with hand and use spoon/fork as I am used to it. Even while eating Biryani

:kp

I don't mean to be racist to me it is just disgusting. North Indians mixing rice and curry and dipping finger full into curry is unique to Ind.
