What's new

How do Pakistanis see Rahul Gandhi and expect of him as future leader of India?

Quite certain, India's response and handling of affairs after the Pulwama tragedy would not have been as hysterical if Rahul Gandhi was in charge instead of Modi. Rahul is sane and listens to the advice of experts unlike the egoistic fool that Modi is whose only goal ever is to win the next election for BJP where it is.

Yet another humiliating general election defeat for the Congress under the leadership of this man.

Will the party have the guts to dump him for a better leader or will they keep him in order to achieve a hat trick of defeats in 2024?

Will Rahul actually resign? Does it even matter given that mother and son will most likely be pulling the strings from the background anyway?

What next for the “future leader of India” who turned 49 last week?

He isn't smart enough to pull strings. Perhaps he wants to lead without getting pasted by everyone. The limelight can be on someone else while the Gandhis continue to be in power. Currently, he is just warming the seat for Priyanka or her kids.

Sonia did well to remain in the shadows selling the country with her puppet Manmohan Singh giving her respectability and drawing flak when needed.

As a Pakistani my observations are as follows:

1) a lot of Indian voters have no appetite for dynastic politics now
2) Rahul Gandhi has little charisma of his own
3) many modi supporters have respect for Manmohan but none for Rahul Gandhi
4) many genuinely believe that Modi has put India on the path to a great power status
5) Hindutva also has genuine appeal in India

Plus BJP made good alliances in I think in Bihar and Karnataka.

Basically can’t disagree with Arnab Goswami on “Modi vs Who?”
