South Africans have a love hate relationship with Donald Trump

This is from my observation

Black South Africans - 100 % hate
White South Africans - 95 % love Trump while the other 5% dislike him
Coloureds (muslim) - 100% hate
Coloureds(Christian) - 70% hate while 30% love him (the 30% mainly belong to Afrikaans (dutch) churches)
Desi muslims - 100 % hate
Desi hindus - 100% absolutely love Trump

Do Desi Hindus support Trump because he is Anti-Muslim? Or any other reason?

Urban folks hate him and rural ones love him. The rural ones will hate him too when he doesn't bring the coal jobs back and gets rid of their healthcare.

Mostly White males and old white females love him. Mostly people with no college education, particularly in the mid western states who are blue collared and hit hard due to lack of jobs who seem to blame everything on OBama,

That's the cross section that loves Trump. Almost everybody else hates him

Yes because Trump loves Hindus and India and hate Muslims

Didn't know India had only Hindus my esteemed 'south african friend'.
Have the muslims of Indian descent there already started seeing themselves different from 'Hindu' India? Very sad if true.

There are around 600,000 desi Hindus in SA. Have you personally checked every single Hindu household to come to your conclusion that all of them love Trump or are you looking at this through colored glasses? Same with other communities. Are there no South African Hindu desis/whites with leftist background/thinking? In Chennai, at least in my friend's circle about 90% hate Trump and 10% seem to like him. I haven't traveled to other parts since he was elected to power but from my estimate based on discussions with friends and relatives he is the most unpopular US Prez since Reagan. Are there no Tamils/Mallus/Bongs in South Africa?

I won't claim to have stats because that requires a scientific accurate polling so these are just my personal views: most educated Hindus in the US are anti Trump. Like I said almost every other group apart from his base as I described in the last post is anti Trump. Very few exceptions such as certain sections of latinos, Muslims, blacks and Hindus who support him. Mostly for their other personal reasons that I don't believe reflect on their overall communities.

Hindus in India might think otherwise but I can speak with certainty US Hindus hate him. He is just bad news for all minorities including white women

Hindus in Tamil Nadu and Kerala hate him more than any other world leader at present, I can vouch for that.

Majority of the country living in rural areas wouldn't even know him or probably forgotten about him.

Probably because he is bad for their H1b visas to US, makes sense. Like I said most educated people see through him so it's no surprise the southern Indian states (happen to be highly educated majority) don't have any love for him.

The world wide populist movement is certain not driven by the common man .. read people who are not doing economically well and are not highly educated.

I say that because I know hard core conservatives and republicans in the US majority of whom are well educated, actually don't like Trump because he doesn't really stand for their beliefs. They might benefit from his policies which help the elites but still I am sure they see through his charade. He is a charlatan who is doing this for his own personal gain not because he loves the country or his has any strong beliefs whether conservative or liberal.

Nobody in Australia hates him.

But he is universally laughed at.

But I think he might have the last laugh: I think he might just preside over Arab-Israeli peace and a final settlement.

The Hanson Clan seem to view him as some kind of messiah though.

I think he's universally laughed at because he doesn't really pose a threat to us personally. I think in general everyone is still amazed he is actually President.

You can hate the man but you have to admire his politics.

The politics of fear is not politics. This is not good politics its essentially celebrity showmanship. He could only have won in a country like the US which places more importance in celebrity than intelligence.

You support him banning muslims and not allowing refugees in America even though the United States policies are directly responsible for the ongoing crisis in the first place?

Many Hindus were for Trump for his anti Muslim stance and pro-India views until one of them went to a Trump rally and got beaten to pulp by Trump supporters :)))

Australia generally isnt affected by who is POTUS though.

I support Pakistan banning Afghan refugees and deporting all the Afghan citizens in Pakistan and also sealing the border with Afghanistan, which in other terms can also be called a "Wall". Therefore, it would be hypocritical of me to condemn Trump for banning Muslims or deporting citizens.

As for the US being directly responsible for the Syrian war - I disagree. The US are one of the reasons however, according to their claims, they were there to stop the civil war and to help the Syrian Govt.

Better than Obama, who was better than Bush...but still a letdown. Seems no matter who becomes the potus, the military industrial complex and the love for saudi regime remains constant. I support Trump even though he has caused loss of jobs for Indians.

Pathological liar and buffoon in the pocket of the Kremlin.

One of the funniest politicians ever.

His presidential campaign had a lot of funny comedy moments, especially his insults at his fellow candidates.

Overall I just think the guy is out of his depth. He really doesn't want to be there and doesn't know for certain what to do other than go with his instincts which is never good for a leader.

The Liberal Democrats in the UK love him because Jeremy Corbyn is apparently inferior :yk2 Robert

I think its mostly unintelligent people that dont like Trump, they dont like Trump and seem to want to abuse anyone that does like him. But that also seems to be how people are nowdays, if you dont hate on someone then there is something wrong with you.

There is something between hate and love. That will cover majority of Americans. If your hate and love numbers are like 100%, 90%, 95% etc then you do need to widen your circle. It doesn't tell much about how Americans view Trump, but it tells something.

I love him so much and I do not care for opinion of fellow countrymen.

Educated and uneducated, rural and urban generalizations are simplistic and uncalled for.

I like him for his self confidence, narcissism. I see him as very macho personality. He stands out in crowd. Also he said all things about other nations and ethnicities openly which is so admirable.

I hate people who pretend to be all secular and highly intellectual, they try to fit in. They think hating on Trump is cool.

Best part is Trump simply doesn't care, he is POTUS and his haters are lallu-panju.

Exactly. The intellectual snobs love to hate him because they think it is the morally superior opinion to have and the intellectual wannabes follow these snobs like sheeple. World needs more Trumps, not PR pretenders like Trudeau who is a darling of the pseudo liberals these days.

I generally think that he entered the Republican race for personal comic relief / celebrity purposes and shot from the hip Apprentice-style, ending up wiping the floor with some very weak competition, before winning the election against very unpopular opposition just as accidentally. Since then, I believe that his rare 'good days' have been as much a surprise to him as they have to the rest of us.

He has no idea what he is doing as President obviously, but then again many of them didn't; Presidents have usually been controlled by their advisers and the intelligence services - because Trump sees this attempted puppetry and rejects it, Washington has simply turned its back & left his administration to spectacularly implode, which it probably will have done before his 4 entitled years are up.

Trump is in fact a smart bloke, not the idiot he is sometimes portrayed as: he knows who his mortal enemies are, so he steers clear of those, and equally he knows how to influence the more malleable people - Speaker Ryan, an early doubter, seems to have totally swooned for him - Trump, after all, is a billionaire businessman, and can cast a charismatic spell over the weaker-minded. But he is out of his depth in the POTUS role.

from what ive seen most people see him as a clown and a buffoon. I just cant see someone like him becoming British PM.

You're probably right. The gullible ones are easily misled by negative press covfefe.

Well said, President Trump's haters are so covfefe it's unbelievable. That French guy with weak arms is a big hater too. He should sign up for Trump care because it seems he can't walk in a straight line. Sad!

My Fellow Country Men are divided into 2 groups. Those having soft corner for him due to his elevated Saudi Love and those who hate him and fear him because of his Anti Iran views.

Such a Man He is. Divided Us further. Divide & Rule.

Trump is a mystery. Even Psycologists cannot read him. With an Unusual personality & attitude he flourished in business Sector and than succeeded in becoming President of Super Power America. He is not a good sign for World in days ahead, he has misbehaved with very respectful World Leaders but probably He doesn't do it intentionally and it's part of his makeup.
