This guy![]()
Lets pour in the outrage and magnify this propaganda. Lets through enough mud so at least some of it will stick.
Mehdi Hasan is a joke. A self-appointed political expert who thinks he is the smartest person in the room and can intimidate his guests with his fancy British accent.
Whenever his guests answer him back and put him under pressure, he turns into a kitten and throws his toys out of the pram.
He was put in his place by an Israeli foreign minister when he asked him about Israel’s nuclear program and started whining.
He makes a lot of noise but there is no substance to his arguments and he plays to the galleries to appease his fan-following.
Anythying specific that stands out in this video that bothers you or you would like to address?
Generic rants will get you fans but doesnt add to this thread.
Nothing will stick to Modi..he has been feted by both left and right of the western world establishment..he is in a position of strength being the popular and elected leader of the world's largest democracy and economic powerhouse...

He don't know anything in politics.

So these Rana Ayyubs and the rest can cry as much as they can... they will achieve zilch..
He hasn't been feted at all, he's been branded a Hindu supremacist and accused of fomenting ethnic hatred in his own country. But we do recognise there is lots of money on the table in India, and our business and military interests align for now, so we will ignore it for the most part. Same as we do for human rights abuse specialists Saudi Arabia.

Ok so the purpose of this thread is to pre-empt the outrage without actually countering with anything useful?
100%, the are needed by the west why else have the UK, AU struck trade deals in the last 4 weeks and visit from the EU too!
The west turns a blind eye if it serves their purpose, there are major issues in India but fair play to India to make hay while they are the flavour of the decade.

Its his opinion that muslims will face a genocide.
Problem is that muslims have been politically privileged by parties to get their votes. Kept above the law and pandered to.
Now since talk is raging around equal laws for them too, some of them are feeling discomforted.
When you are privileged, equal treatment feels like oppression.
Accused by? Which court is holding that trial?
Gone are the days when western NGOs or media would decide who is what.

Mehndis saying nothing new which hasnt been highlighted before
The butcher of gujurat and his cronies have left india on the brink of a civil war and to think indians voted in this horrid far right party
All political parties in India have pandered to religious sentiments and hate speeches and lynchings have happened across religious lines. Both Hindu and Muslim leaders in India have provoked the other side and even worse. Anyone who knows Indian politics would understand that. It has all existed in India for decades.
Indian Hindus and Muslims, despite all their differences and political issues have lived together and will continue to do so. They'll fight with each other one day, and make up the next, no matter which political formation is in power

When Mehdi (who's of Indian heritage) grills Pakistani guests like Asad Durrani or Hina Rabbani Khar, he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
But if he grills a BJP/Israeli spokesman, it seems he's slated by the same people.

Markhor yet again proving why he's the best poster on PP.
Good job exposing Mamoon's hot air.
Not sure who called him the best thing since sliced bread, though a sliced bread has more charisma and allure than this guy.
Hina Rabbani got the better off him and Shashi Taroor ended his career with the following statement.
“The stories are far more complex than your questioning implies”
Mehdi has developed a fan following because he tends to ask the type of questions that you would expect a common person to ask, but his knowledge and understanding of global political issues are elementary - he doesn’t understand the complexities and he views everything in black and white.
He is naive and idealistic, and he may have gone to Oxford for PPE but it got wasted on him because there is no depth to his arguments and debates.
Modern day India doesn't seem like a great place for a Muslim to live in.
Too much anti-Muslim rhetoric.
Tell me in which country Muslims living peacefully without any issues?
Tell me in which country Muslims living peacefully without any issues?
Tell me in which country Muslims living peacefully without any issues?
People are jealous of Islam's success perhaps.
There is no religion on Earth that converts as many people as Islam does. It is the fastest growing religion in the world.
Every country has issues. However, India seems to have this issue more than other countries in that particular region.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Not a fan of Mehdi but this is exactly what connects him with the people. He doesn't need to be an expert on a topic to distinguish right from wrong. T
The problem for the extremists in India is, they are upset regarding their history. They need to accept Muslims ruled over them for around 1000 years but also imporved the land, making it the richest nation on Earth. Its too late, the Hindu extremists are only harming their own land now.
It isn't his opinion it an organisation called genocide watch who are saying this!
I'm not here to educate you on how British media reports on India. You'd have to read western news articles or watch their documentaries to know about it. I'm sure there have been plenty posted here in the last few years, but can post plenty more if you are still in any doubt.
Lynchings, politicians calling for genocide, hate speech, is all equal treatment? Ive heard it all now
Thread is about Hindu extremists.
There is only one large country with a Hindu majority population. It happens to be the only big Hindu nation has elected a Hindu extremist and a extremist party. I can go into details if you are unware?

How about You tell us where they arent
Theres bigotry and xenophobia everywhere but seems to be more in india these days
What a load of rubbish....
Can you prove how Muslims have been kept above law and given special treatment...cite any examples
And you are calling Muslims privileged....I guess you haven't read your own govt committee's reports(Sachar Committee) which state that Indian Muslims are amongst the most backward groups in India both economically and socially
Bulldozing Muslim homes without any notice while not even arresting Hindutva rioters....yeah great attempt at 'equal treatment'
1. Till Modi came, Muslims were paid for by the govt to do hajj.
2. A muslim can open a educational institution and keep it as muslims only, he doesn't have to follow any RTE or other norms. A hindu cannot do so.
3. Muslim laws of marriage, divorce, inheritance are not under the constitution but as per muslim sharia law. Hindus have to obey the constitutional law.
4. Certain state governments pay muslim priests salaries from state treasury.
5. While muslims are free to run their mosques as per their wishes, government routinely seizes control of hindu temples, takes the property and cash and uses it.
6.Despite orders and judgements of the supreme court and high courts saying that use of loudspeakers are prohibited after 10pm till 6 AM, mosques routinely use loudspeakers and government doesn't act.
7.Public institutions like railways, airlines etc only serve halal meat.
8.In many states you will find roads, parks routinely occupied by muslims for namaz. Government does nothing.
9. Political parties pandering to muslim votes are lax towards enforcing laws if crime is committed by muslims. The reason why many people vote BJP.
10. Sec 40 Wakf act, empowers the Wakf to declare any property as Wakf property. The aggrieved person only has the option of approaching a wakf tribunal.
11. Latest: In the state of Maharashtra, no one can play loudspeakers, 15 mins before or after Azaan.Everyoe now has to adjust as per the timings of Azaan.
Digest this. I will bring more.
Some of the myths about Muslims being treated fairy are explained nicely in this post. Perhaps some Bakhats need to need it.
Starting of with politics, the 200 million Muslims of India have been kept marginalised. PM Modi's party BJP won a huge majority with 303 Lok Sabha seats in 2019. But there are no Muslim MPs. In 2014, BJP had 282 seats in Lok Sabha; without a single seat for any Muslim.
In Gujarat, where BJP has run the govt since 1998, there has been no Muslim BJP MLA for 22 years. There has been no Muslim representative of any party from Gujarat in the Lok Sabha since 1985. In the entire Hindi belt, there is no Muslim MLA in 2020 belonging to the BJP.
The state of Uttar Pradesh has over 40 million Muslims. BJP has 307 MLAs after the state elections of 2017 but there's not a single Muslim. The 40 million Muslims in Uttar Pradesh remain the largest unrepresented group in the democratic world.
There's not a single Muslim chief minister of a state, outside Kashmir, who has completed his full term since independence. As of now, there's no Muslim minister in 15 out of 28 Indian states. In the cabinets of ten of remaining 13 states, there's only one Muslim minister.
India’s Scheduled Castes are 16% of population but they are given 84 reserved seats in Lok Sabha. The Scheduled Tribes, which are 8% of the population, get 47 reserved seats. India has acknowledged it's discrimination against Dalits and and Adivasis but Muslims remain the most under-represented community in Parliament. There were 27 Muslims elected in 2019. By their share of population Muslims should have 74 seats. But they've never got more than 49 (in 1980). Their average is 28 seats, about one third of representation they should have.
The Sachal Commission Report revealed astonishing details of the discrimination against Indian Muslims at institutional level in 2006 by scrutinizing the data on employment of Muslims in govt. Muslims were only 4.9% of total 88 lakh state and central govt employees.
The Railways had 4.5% Muslims but 98.7% of the Muslims employed were at lower levels, with only 1.3% as Group A or Group B officers.
2. In the Indian Police Service and the Indian Foreign Service, Muslim representation was 3.2%.
3. In the judiciary, Muslims were 7.8% compared to 23% OBCs, and 20% SC/STs.
4. Among the faculty members of universities, Muslims were 3.7%
5. The share of Muslim employment in state banks and the Reserve Bank of India was 2.2%
6. In the central public sector units, Muslims were 3.3% 7. In 1999, the former defence minister Mulayam Singh Yadav said that of the over 1 million people in the Indian military, Muslims were only 1%. The roots of discrimination were laid by the first Army Chief Gen K.M. Cariappa. In an offensive titled diatribe published the Organiser which was the mouthpiece of RSS, Cariappa bluntly declared:
"Muslim loyalty seems to be primarily to Pakistan. This is a crime unpardonable.."
8. In the security agencies, India’s Muslims face open discrimination. They are assumed to be treasonous by birth.
The Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) does not recruit Muslims by way of unwritten policy. Outlook magazine reported on this in its 13 November 2006 issue. From 1969 till today—RAW’s current staff strength is about 10,000— it has avoided recruiting any Muslim officer.
As of 2020, in the entire intelligence community of RAW, IB, National Technical Research Organisation and Military Intelligence, India has just one Muslim officer out of 200 million Muslims.
The India Justice Report 2019 released by the Tata Trusts said that from 1999–2013, Muslim representation in the Indian police has remained between 3% and 4% outside Kashmir. The postal department had 2.7 lakh employees of whom 5% were Muslim, mostly in Group D.

I am not concerned about how British media reports. India doesn't work as per the opinion of British media.
Well, atleast in India, the constitution doesn't make a discrimination unlike some other Muslim majority country.
How's the situation and representation of minorities in Pakistan? or gradual silent decline in population to extinction?
Attacking hindus and their religious processions. Trying to hoist their religion on public institutions. Wanting separate and special privileges. Threatening violence.
The Muslims (Mughals) also folded like a pack of cards against the British and failed to resist them because they had wrong priorities.
They were obsessed with food, architecture and luxuries and didn’t focus on education and growing their empire.
Here we go again on the magical mystery tour of Planet Whatabout.
The main problem now in India as I read is that Hindu processions passing through Muslim dominated areas and chanting religious slogans. I do not actually live in India, but I do keep abreast of things happening there.
I am not a religious Hindu, but I do believe that Processions should not be passing through Muslim majority areas.
You cannot wipe out 200 million people. No power can do that. Mehdi Hasan is a loon.
