A 0 vs India by Babar will lead Pakistan to a scoreboard of 57-2 in the WC league game, leading to a collapse, which means Pakistan will crumble from 57-2 to 83 all-out.

Seriously man?
Babar score 50 odd against india in the CT17 when he was a novice, hes a much more rounded player now. He will score at least 50 against them again.

Babar scored 9 and 46 vs India in CT17. His highest score is 47 vs India that came in Asia cup.

He is going to break the record for the most runs in a WC by a batsman.

Guy is as cool as cucumber. :raja

He will score but i dont expect him to win any match for pakistan. King of unimpactful innings.

Feast on the easy matches, will go missing in a couple of crucial games

I said 50 odd(46) cos i couldnt remember of the top of my head. If he scores the same again , i will take it as long as everyone chips in, should get a decent score.

He might top the charts as top 5 or 7 batsmen.

But none of his innings will have any impact.

He'll probably get a lot of 30s, innings in which he plays some beautiful shots then gets out before he can make a meaningful contribution.

35ISH Average with a strike rate of anywhere between 75-85 . He will struggle aganist the likes of Cummins, Bumrah , Shami , Starc

If he does not average 50+ while batting in top 3 on the flattest wickets ever then he's anything but world class.

Marked your words

If Pakistan is going to win games it will be Shaheen or Amir running through top order.

And if Pakistan are going to win chasing totals of 320 plus it will require Fakhar or a lower order cameo from Asif, Hafeez etc.

You can bookmark it as many times as you want.

Babar will score a lot of runs but he cant chase above 320.

I think he will do well. Great run aggregates even if no leading contributions to runs, to be expected

+1.

Babar is not the sort of batsman that can lead the charge from the front in these high scoring matches. He will always play second fiddle. He can play a crucial role in a win but it won't be the highlight innings e.g. a 100(100) complementing Fakhar's 125(100).

Couldn't agree more. Good insight here.

Yes its right Pakistan will only win with the help of Lower Order.
Babar alone Cant Do Anything Why people are always
Underestimating babar
Our Team Is So Much Dependent on Babar That You Cant Even Win A T20 Match In Whict Babar wont Score.
He Is your Constant top scorers in Limted Oves Cricket .
What Else Do You Want From him.
Kohli Cant Win A Match Alone.Root cant win A match Alone .No player Does.
Pakistan constant problem Is Lower Middle Order and tail which Is Not performing at all.nor is the Bowling.
how Can You Expect A Single Player To win You A Game .If You Substract UAE He plays At 100 SR Throughout his innings. Haris And Babar are Pakistan backbone .But they also need support from Other players.

This is going to be a battathon world cup if the pitches are going to be like this. So there will be so many guys scoring big in this. One who stands out will be the one who makes impact. Could be Gayle could be Maxwell could be Butler.

(Reuters) - Comparisons with Virat Kohli have been a stumbling block for many batsmen in world cricket but Pakistan’s Babar Azam has embraced the challenge wholeheartedly and will carry his country’s hopes at the World Cup.

Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur first mentioned Azam, the world’s top-ranked Twenty20 international batsman, in the same breath as Indian skipper Kohli early last year, based on the 24-year-old’s potential across formats.

Azam’s international career is just over 100 matches old, but his prowess with the bat has already broken several records.

He is the fastest batsman to reach 1,000 T20I runs, taking 26 innings to get there and dethroning Kohli in the process.

He also reached 1,000 ODI runs in 21 innings, a record he shared with an elite group of players, including West Indies great Viv Richards and England power-hitter Kevin Pietersen, until his Pakistan team mate Fakhar Zaman broke it last year.

Azam’s classy stroke-making has provided the platform for his record-breaking run spree, and he often single-handedly drives Pakistan to competitive totals in sluggish conditions in the United Arab Emirates, the national team’s adopted home.

“We have some serious batsmen in our team but he has the ability to be as good as anyone in the world,” Arthur said of the right-handed batsman. “If he’s getting us a 100, we’re comfortable we have the batsmen around him to get 300-320.

“Over the last two years, his strike rate is around 80 and he knows he needs to increase that, as do some of the other batsmen and we’ve spoken about that.”

Pakistan have come up short since the start of 2019, beaten by South Africa, Australia and England. Some impressive totals on small grounds against England this month do not disguise the fact that the team needs more runs in the middle overs.

That again encourages comparisons with Kohli, who has often had to hold a thin Indian middle order together and use every opportunity to score in the powerplays.

Azam is confident he can switch gears if the situation demands more aggression.

“If I can be number one in the world without power hitting, then I don’t need power hitting,” he said. “But when I need to, I utilise it well.

“My individual role is to take the innings as deep as I can and perform in a way that benefits the team most.”

Babar Azam is so overrated on PP. His runs won't have much impact in the WC.

As for those who like to draw comparisons with him and Kohli need to relax. Let him reach the level of Root first.
